Oh i'm developing my own line of cards as we speak. Just trying to find out what people want, like, etc. Care to see a few samples designs? Yes, please.... g That wasn't an invite for all...just for Lisa. FINE... see if I ever buy any of your cards.... g I'd be more than happy to send you some samples once they're all designed and printed. -

A. Buy a set of the same greeting cards with one theme for one holiday? (example: a set of 10 or 20 Xmas cards. And how many cards would you want in a set of the same cards? 10, 15, 20, or more?) B. Would you buy a set of different greeting cards with 1 card for every major holiday? (example: a set of cards that has an Xmas card, New Years Card, Vday Card, etc) C. Would you prefer to buy separate cards for any and all occasions? How much would you be willing to pay for A, B, or C, including shipping? Would you want the cards with or without envelopes? Thanks Y'all! -

So I'm at almost 50 jumps (1 away) and I've done my water training, done some 3/4 ways, have landed mostly within the requirements (except the occasional trip to the edge of the corn field ), but my fall rates/exits need lot of work, as well as my belly flying. I don't feel like i deserve a B license yet, even though I am fairly certain I could pass the written exam, since I've been studying the SIM, absorbing information, etc etc etc. I don't jump that regularly because of lack of rig (up until two weeks ago, when my used gear was ready) and because of the unemployment situation. I'm sure that has a lot to do with my troubles in controlling fall rate, etc etc etc. So do I go for my B license without feeling like I'm truly ready for it, or do I just jump as much as I can, improve my belly flying, fall rates, etc...and then go for the B?

Glad you're doin' well. Now get healthy and get jumpin'!

Chest-mounted...iPhone??
npgraphicdesign replied to npgraphicdesign's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
First, chill man Second, I mean i'm not ready to jump with a full camera setup...having that on your helmet vs an iPhone on your chest strap is a biiiiit different. Third, I know I've been in this sport for a short time and don't have much experience or haven't 'seen it all'...but thank you for the breaking news flash They recommend 200 jumps for any camera setup, not just a full helmet mounted one. There is more snags to jumping camera than snags. Yea I've been reading the SIM and some of the discussions in the Camera forums. I think i'll wait... Btw, I'm still a guy. Sorry to disappoint ya -
I'm Current again!!

Chest-mounted...iPhone??
npgraphicdesign replied to npgraphicdesign's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Your welcome. Really though, that advice applies to any sort of 'toy' in freefall. There's nothing specific about cameras that makes them more distracting in freefall that other items, it's just that cameras are the thing most people want to take into freefall. If you had asked about, let's say, a chest mounted GPS unit, the answer would have been largely the same, and for the same reasons. After my B category jump where I landed about a mile away, I was given multiple suggestions: a chest mounted GPS so i can find my way back, a map of our DZ on the underside of my canopy, etc..I still like the GPS idea. -

He's right. You're not ready to jump with a camera. It has nothing to do with size, weight, nor placement. It has nothing to do with whether it's a professional camera nor one from a crackerjack box. It's a mental distraction that only becomes greater after your first jump with it. It's not only dangerous for yourself, but can cause you to become a danger to others. Please read the Camera forum FAQ. There are a couple real-life stories there that might help you understand better why experienced jumpers are not encouraging you to do this. Cameras of *any* kind can create hazards that are not physical/snag related. Cameras often make you more dangerous to others than to yourself when you're not ready to be jumping with one. Thank you DSE...I appreciate the response as much as I do the other serious ones...
