  1. Are you saying you would help with the other jumper's expenses or walk away? Blue skies, Jim
  2. I'm at the DZ too, but Trent is training so I get to watch everyone jump from Fly Vertical's window. Blue skies, Jim
  3. Some people get part time jobs at the dz just to pay for jumps. And if they are not jumping, at least they are out there with all their friends. Blue skies, Jim
  4. Trent did his first tandem at Xkeys and called me to tell me about it. He also told me he had bought me a tandem at Skydive USA for the next weekend. When I told my wife, she said "Well if you're going to do it, I want to go too!" She has only done the one jump, but says she will do another "someday". Trent and I don't get to jump together very often unless they need a belly flyer for a hybrid. (He did get to jump with me on a 40-way last weekend.) I have gotten my sister-in-law and brother-in-law jumping, my nephew has done 3 or 4 tandems, and my niece wants to do a tandem when she turns 18 in October. At Spaceland there are quite a few family jumpers: Boyds, Berkes, Hales, Nichols, Snowdens, Ethridges and many others that I can't remember right now. Blue skies, Jim
  5. Going: LO-Trent (Anomaly) LO-Stevie (Anomaly) Gemini Blue skies, Jim
  6. We've done some pretty good sized hybrids and turned the pieces (usually a 3-way with 2 belly & a hanger). The belly flyers handle the turn (slow & steady) while the hanger handles the level. The hanger basically makes sure he is hanging straight and can get into a hang-sit or spread-leg position to slow down and stand to speed up. Belly flyers in face to face or side by side configuration turn by using their legs and maybe a little arm if you have a free one. Remember to keep your eyes on the other pair at all times because levels will change rapidly and the pairs can close very rapidly. Blue skies, Jim

    Hybrid Go big

And don't forget, we are getting pretty good at turning the 3 way pieces too! A 6 way with 4 belly and two hangers breaks into 2 3-ways with 2 belly and 1 hanger, turns 360, and redocks. Stevie was a stinger on one of the pieces. Blue skies, Jim
  8. Should of come to Perris with me. It's clear blue out here! Blue skies, Jim
  9. Hope you have a great birthday Lisa! Jim Blue skies, Jim
  10. Just got to see the videos. These guys are amazing and with so little working time! Jim Blue skies, Jim
  11. These guys can do RW although it is a bit abnormal. Did a three way awhile back with Stevie and Trent. ?They flew on their backs while I was on my belly. We did round, compressed accordian, burble hopped to compressed accordian, open accordian, zipper with a stinger???, and back to the round several times. They are pretty amazing. Blue skies, Jim
  12. If you are in the Texas, South or Soutwest areas you can also call Steve Boyd (Skydive Spaceland) at 281-369-3337. Ferry fee for a Super Otter runs anywhere from $200 - $400 per flight hour. Per jumper fee can be $14 with a minimum load of 15 to 18. Usually the 20th and 22nd slots are free to the DZ. On top of all this you have to buy the fuel too! Prices include the pilot. If he stays over night you may have to provide sleeping quarters and transportation for him. Good news is that jumpers usually want to fly out with the plane to jump at your DZ, RW and freefly organizers can also be provided, as well as manifest help, packers and loaders. Blue skies, Jim
  13. Best wishes Betsy! Hope you have a safe, fun and exciting birthday. Blues, Blue skies, Jim
  14. Glad you caught it early Conway. Let me know if there is anything I can do for you. Best wishes for a speedy recovery & hope to see you this weekend. Blues Blue skies, Jim
  15. Zenster is right, except I would add that anyone who says shoot to wound has obviously never been in the situation. When you pull it out you shoot and you don't stop till they are gone. If you are really lucky he didn't return fire. Now that 4 0r 5 seconds have elapsed .... Blue skies, Jim
  16. I've done many web sites and the billing is usually nothing but trouble. After the first few, I drafted an agreement that basically lists each page to be included, number of graphics, the delivery date, and the fee. It also specifically states that ANY changes will be charged at $40 per hour and requests for changes must be submitted in writing. 1/2 the fee is due before work starts and the last half due upon delivery. Although it has not been a problem, I include a statement that the work remains my property and is leased to the customer for use with only the abc.com domain. Live and learn. Finish the job and move on. Just don't let them get you the next time. Blues, Jim Blue skies, Jim
  17. Better enjoy the 30's! They'll be over before you can blink. And if you ever think you're old, just tell someone who's older how old you feel. After they've called you a "kid", I'll bet they say something like "just wait" or "wanta' trade!" Happy Birthday...enjoy being the age you are. Blues, Blue skies, Jim
  18. I am glad someone else feels he is a LPS too! I posted a similar statement several weeks back. Army duty was 12 months in country except apparently for Gore and Kerry. I will never vote for him. Jim 1Lt Advisor Team 46 Phoenix 1968-1969 Blue skies, Jim
  19. Boo hoo, I didn't get my way so I'm gona' bitch for 4 years HEY get over it! It's legal, it's been done before, and Congress is illegally exxagerating their advise and consent powers! Blue skies, Jim
  20. I agree that the deficit could be larger if more expensive foreign goods and services are purchased by the govt, but how could the debt service be more expensive if it is denominated in US dollars? The debt service could only increase if the interest rate rises or the balance being serviced increases. What may happen is the US uses some of its foreign currency reserves by converting the reserves into the weaker dollars and paying off the dollar debt. Obviously this couldn't be maintained for long, but I think governments hedge just like corporations. Blue skies, Jim
  21. Not from the Houston Chronicle. When I say a liberal rag, I mean they're only third to one in DC and LA. Blue skies, Jim
  22. He's taken money from the Chinese, AIG and who knows who else to do favors or keep a tax loophole open. In fact there was an article in the liberal Houston Chronicle this morning that actually names the companies and individuals involved. Blue skies, Jim
  23. Hell yes, let's all vote for that lying sack of shit Kerry who can't be trusted to tell the truth about anything. He'll line his on pockets faster than the Clinton's and swear the money came from his generous wife. Good choice the Dems are offering! Blue skies, Jim
  24. Why thank you very much! It's about time you came around and recognized that the Dems have no solution. Why even though the great one was asked several posts up, HE CAN COME UP WITH NO SOLUTION EITHER! It is very, very easy to cast stones my friend. Where's you're answer Raf? Blue skies, Jim
  25. I've got a coupla' friends who are rather large. What has worked best for them was a regular tony suit with swoop cords. After a bunch of jumps they had their fall rate down from around 140-150 to 113-125 and can hang with the best of them now. One sent his suit back to Tony and had the extra material and the swoops cords removed. Another guy did the same thing but used a local jumper who could sew. The last just removed his cords. At least it would keep you from later having to buy another suit. Blues, Blue skies, Jim
