well said, as a "former" bible thumper, the thing that has ALways bothered me about the secular world is this. They, you, whomever, preach tolerance, tolerance, tolerance, yet get violently offended when the "religious" right takes offense at having a different belief shoved down their throat. It all makes very little sense to me. Again I say "former" bible thumper, I still have my beliefs, yet I have no need to expuse them to, or at any particular group, or person. This mainly due to the Hypocrisy I saw first hand in the church, don't get me wrong the reason for this post is to also point out the hypocrisy NOT acknowledged by the other side as well. Point is I will vote NO on prop 8 because, for one, I feel we have too damn many laws already, And for two, who am I to tell another person how they are to live there life. I would urge those who are casting there vote AFTER reading these forums to always remeber how our nation was founded. WE ARE NOT A SOCIALIST NATION.

Welcome to your new addiction, cheaper??? thats funny, at first yeah, but once your hooked, your hooked. Kinda like sayin there is such a thing as cheap racing. Anyway it's well worth it. I have been to Lodi a few times, finished my A card there, and have quite a few friends who are regular video guys there. Lodi has a lot of talent, you can, and will learn lots, Also Bill does still do static there. Good luck with your training. Also , the reason it takes so many jumps, IT AINT AS EASY AS IT LOOKS. Plus you are riskin yer life for thrills. Be safe n have a blast !!!

OK I have read every post in here so here is my two cents...I downsized rapidly...from a student 230, 188,sabre2170,sabre150...and finally to a SAMURAI 150...I gotta tell ya that SAMwas badass!!! way too badass for me as on feb 26th at perris on a beautiful winter day I hooked in. Thank God it had been raining all week because I did crater...left a 6 inch deep divit. The cost...shattered pelvis, femur, sacrum, and a coupla compressed vertebrae. Not to mention several severely damaged internal organs. I am sitting here almost 7 months later still barely able to walk or pee regularly. I had my canopy loaded at 1.43 and was told by my coaches that if I respected it and was ALWAYS on my game I should be allright. Well all it takes is ONE brainfart. Dude I dont know you or your skills, I do know this though, limited experience on a fast unforgiving canopy will get you very dead. If ya dont believe me, PM me n I let ya look at my Xrays n records....they say I died 4 times while they were putting me back together...I hope I can get back in the air sometime in the next year. The Sam....is sold....next canopy Lotus 170 or sabre2 170....for at least 400/500 jumps. Sorry to ramble but this is a first person perspective. Blue skies, Sean -
yeah our dzo already told him he wont be jumping it on his dz in NOT so polite terms. apparently the dude asked NO questions when he began looking for his first rig....beyond me man I asked so many questions when lookin for my first set of gear people were gettin tired of hearing me . jk everyone was really good about helping.which is why this confused me about this dude. oh well hope he dont learn the hard way

okay so I may NOT be the right guy to say this but it really pisses me off. Yesterday I went out to our dz n saw a guy I hadn't met before opening a box with a new ( to him anyway ) canopy, a viper 105. we struck up a conversation , made small talk etc. I asked him what dz he had come from thinking he was a transplanted jumper or on vacation. He said, this is my dz. I asked have you just taken some time off? again I had never seen him artound our dz. I said oh n left it at that. a few seconds later another friend came over n asked was my rig still for sale, that the dude I was talking to was interested in it, even though he wasn't going to be able to put his new canopy in it. I asked why can't he put it in? the next words out freakin blew my mind. "he's still on student status N only has 27 jumps !!! O.K now y'all know why I'm pissed. Who in the f**k sells a small performance elliptical to a student? thats like sellin a hyabusa to a 16 year old freshly licensed kid. I mean did whomever sold this thing to this guy ask ANY questions or was he too focused on $. go figger ? just my two cents y'all

WOW, So I get sent to boise for work. first thing I do is get online to find a dz. I read the reviews, make a few calls, end up talkin to paul at skydown for a few minutes. I tell him whats going on with work. ( strange hourd etc. ) He says " come se us we'll get you in the air" so I ome to boise. call him drive out the first day to get waivered up. He offered to call some guys to ge a load together for me. again WOW!. I declined , was a long day anyway. the next day again I call late in the day....6:30 or so but just get an answeing machine, didn't leave a message figuring everyone had jumped. well about 5 or so minutes later my phone rings ...its paul! he says "were gonna make a coupla more jumps come on out" I told him not to wait since my rig was at the hotel . He tells me to go get it & come out. so I did. met some great guys. ( randy, rocky,& bob) all who had waited for me to get on the sunset load. what a great skydive !!! nothing overly spectacular (unless you like beautiful scenery & clean crisp air). THANX again Paul & Denise. ya wanna a great skydive experience in Idaho...visit skydown. I will again....probably tomorrow ;)

Hey mel, when I spoke to his mom yesterday she asked me to tell everyone that she was very happy he had a "family " out here & that he seemed happier to be on the dz than anywhere he'd ever been. she said she was glad he had so many good friends. His dad offered the same sentiments & they were very grateful for the many calls they received.

We lost a really good friend monday. it still seems unreal. Dave was our own Ironman skydiver (250 + jumps since he started in jan.) He started his aff course the day I finished mine. We became instant friends. We flew a lot together. if the plane was in the air , Dave was on it, our manifesters never even asked if he ws going to be on the load they just put him on. Dude loved hot food. The spicier the better. My life is better for having known him & been his friend & the dropzone will be a different place without dave being the first one there in the morning? BSBD brother I'll see you on the other side. Sean

lol I always went in one foot hi one foot low...but in this case prolly better to crawl b4 walk walk b4 run. . . btw tyrus raymond cobb was the greatest player that ever lived... too bad he was a total prick

have your kid sit cross legged, indian style, lotus , whatever you wanna call it, whicever leg is underneath, lean him back & toward that side , this will be his underneath or (trailing) leg. the little league coach has some good ideas however teaching him to slide on his butt will most likely end up in bruised butt &/or bitten tongue. have your son either keep a handful of dirt ineach hand or clench his batting gloves , this will prevent broken fingers ( by trying to catch himelsf. PRACTICE ON GRASS!!!. DO NOT WORRY ABOUT BASES YET! just have him run the (I assume 60 ft.) base path then have him throw his legs out. trailing leg under him. till he gets it...he will...quickly. also do this in old jeans...they are tougher & will help the lessen the likelyhood of a nice raspberry. (I was a catcher for 15 years, high school coach, nsa c div fast pitch western states champ) hope that helps, Sean

k I'm curious why does fun have to be "logical"....dude yer a skydiver please explain the logic? I love my boat. only thing I'd rather do than be on my boat is be in the air & I gotta tell ya it gets 110 in the shade in the summer at my DZ & the lake we play at is right under our flight path...anyone wanna hop n pop & go skiin......wait thats not logical...k just thought about it....would rather be havin sex on my boat in the sun...k yup thats what I wanted to say

hey . welcome to a whole new family. I bet there is not one single skydiver/base jumper here who on there first jump (not tandem) that once they got in the door & looked down wasn't thinkin "oh shit". I was. then I checked in checked out gave a count an away we went.....first jump jitters all gone. talk with your instructors, remember your training, don't worry about being perfect, arch arch arch. then pull & let out a huge WOOOOOOP! once yer under canopy!!! blue skies! have a blast & prepare to be real cash poor LOL

does salsa john have a last name?....so we know who to look for when he gets out & looks for a new dz to call home
-
was a reply to my post he misunderstood what I was trying to say (111) it is in the legal gun owner kills policeman thread
-
Ive had three scopes on right two on left & a reconstruct on left.....if your strong & you rehab...(do leg extensions & leg curls with light weight & lotsa reps you'll be strong as new in a month...now on a reconstruct, that shit hurts & takes A LOT longer
-
"your" equaled "her"...was ammo for her arguement that had he had a gun someone may have been killed...was pointing the paradox of this discussion & no I do not know john & therefore will not pass judgement, not my place, but I will say this...he brandished & used a weapon against & unarmed man. had it been a gun probably would have been worse. this is of course pure yet sensible speculation. hee hee another paradox
-
yeah dude I busted a gut too...I will be repeating this
-
I wonder if the officer had drawn his weapon or if the dude just shot hm because he would have been the biggest threat?
