    There is a reallygood book about suicide. I too hadvery very strong feelings about it, until Iread the book. It's called. A Fierce Goodbye. I can't remeber the author, but it did help makes sense out of waht seemed senseless. good luck.

    had my second cutaway back in aug 07. Bag lock. Scared the crap outta me.(had hummed it low on a BFR anyway) but I got the reserve out n was in the saddle by 900 ft. Reason I am responding is, I am having the same dilemna, but for different reasons.Ihookedin back in feb, and am very close to getting back in the air. Soclose that Iwasgoing to do my recurrence dive today, but plain n simple, I was afraid. I plan on making it tomorrow, but I gotta admit, I am nervous about landing. I have to do it tho. just thought I would reply to let ya know even us big tuff guys get skeereda lil bit too

    All kidding aside I was VERY concerned about landings before I started. 1. I'm no spring chicken 2. I've had 5 knee surgeries That being said I was assured by my instructors, one of which, also was our s&ta that if I did what I was told, and followed my training I would land fairly lightly, which turned out to be true. My advice is what I tell everyone. Do a tandem first. Even though you have very little control, it gives you an idea of the various sensations you will feel, when you finally do do your AFF, WITHOUT all the sensory overlaod, and having to remember stuff. After landing with the TI THEN yu will most likely know whether or not skydiving is something you wish to pursue. just my two cents. BS

    I have been off going on 10 months now, I am jonesin like you can't believe to get back in the air. But I gotta admit there is a part of me that kinda dreads landing, I'm gonna give it a little more time, and when I can jump off the taligate from a standing posotion, and not feel like my body is going to break in half, I'll be ready

    I find it odd that nobody "discouraged" you. I had planned on making my first camera jump from my first balloon jump, at around jump 165. Several people, all highly experienced camera flyers, said it was probably NOT the best idea. My dzo said my flying skills were good enough, but referred to the SIM, and a pro rating holder simply asked me why I felt the need to film this jump. My answerwas not adequate for him. He calmly toldme it wasnot a good idea n to be patient. Ileft my cam helmet in my gear bag got in the balloon had one of my top 10 skdives. sure was glad I listened

    I don't think he suggested that at all. It has been a long known fact throughout the law enforcement community in general, that A LOT of killers, not just serial killers showed signs early in childhood, of a lack of remorse toward any living thing. I personally grew up with two such people, both ended up murdering. One is dead the other will never see light outside of prison. Both started by blowing up frogs and tying cats together by the tail and hanging them over a clothes line. A person that does such a thing to a helpless animal for no reason WILL move on to "bigger and better" thrills

    Ya know what would be a real drag? If those opposed to ID are wrong. I mean if those of us who Do believe in GZod are wrong, no biggie, we take a long dirt nap, it's over. But oh man what if everything in the Book is true? Be a bummer of a time to find out. just my two cents. I'd write more, but I also know when to keep my mouth shut
