There is no question that the USPA and Skydiving in general is about to face some tough economic times. As our economy weakens, People will be cutting frivolous expenditures first. Nothing is more frivolous than throwing $20 Bills from airplanes for no other reason other than it is fun. I hope the USPA takes a close look at what a price increase will do to already dropping membership numbers. If we have a $5 a year increase and subsequently loose 5000 Members. 30,000 members @ $49 – 1,470,000 25,000 members @ $54 – 1,350,000 In this scenario, the increase creates a net loss of $120,000. Price increases do not always increase revenue and quite often have the opposite effect. No matter what the USPA does, I think membership will be down this year as people are just too scared to spend money right now. Cutting costs is the only way to go. Cut the PR consultant. The software upgrade will have to wait till the economy improves. There is a system in place right now that does work. It may be cumbersome and inefficient but it does work. Cut Parachutist to Bi-Monthly or Quarterly. Look for other places where costs can be cut because right now is NOT the time to raise prices. A price increase at this time would create a net loss for the USPA in my opinion.

Sounds like you need to find another DZ. How far away is the next closest DZ?

Great story.. But I gotta call Bullshit. What gave it away was "until a guy 10-15 years older than me was hired on". NO way could it be true as there has not been a guy 10-15 years older than you in the past two centuries.

I am not disagreeing with you. The first time I brought my 12 year old daughter to the DZ and some guy was standing right beside us talking about FUCK this and Fuck That, I was furious, Asked them a couple times to watch their language. When that didn’t work, we moved away and the next group walks up talking about various sex acts and how fucked up they planned on getting that night. It didn’t take long for me to realize that this was not a place I wanted my child. It may not be "unreasonable" to expect others to watch their language around children at a DZ but it may be unrealistic. Unless the DZO made it a point to say he wanted a family friendly environment. In that case whoever is spewing filth should be kicked off the DZ. It is all about what each DZ decides is acceptable behavior. I am sure there are DZ`s out there where I would be perfectly comfortable bringing a child. Most DZ`s I have been are absolutely NOT a place I would being my child.

that is great. Not all DZ`s are so lucky. Depends on the DZ. Most consider the DZ an Adult playground. I have a child (OK.. Maybe she isn’t a child anymore to anyone other than me) but I very rarely bring her around the DZ because of exactly the type of behavior you are referring to. I also don’t take her to Bars, Biker Rallies or any other place that decidedly "Adult" in nature. I don’t expect others to change their behavior to accommodate MY child.

This is not directed at you personally as I have never met you or seen your dogs... BUT.. EVERY single dog owner that has ever brought a dog (and/or Child) to the DZ claims "They are well mannered and properly trained". The reality is that MOST are not even close.

I intentionally avoided the Auction. There are way too many props and collectables already in my House.

Agreed on the Drinking Scene with Adama and Tigh but the Suicide scene with Dee was fantastic. Took me totally by surprise but made complete sense at the time.

I think they are ALL Cylon. Humans wiped themselves out on earth. Cylons built New Humans and sent them out to repopulate the galaxy. there might be 12 "original" models but everyone else is also decended from Cylon Stock.

The Filed court documents and Judges Ruling do not support that at all if you read them. Skyride made 8 Claims against the USPA. The Judge dismessed 4 of those claims. The remaining claims that the judge let stand had absoluetly NOTHING to do Jan or any of her actions. It was because of the alledged actions of other members of the BOD. Read the Ruling.

I was not impressed at all last night. The show basically sucked. Fortunately I was watching on a DVR where I cold fast forward through most of it. I absolutely despise the "Bad Auditions" they put on. I feel horrible for the people they humiliate like that on national TV. What most people don’t understand is that these people are completely set up for this. A very small percentage of people auditioning actually make it in front of "the Judges". They go through several auditions before they are sent in. Many of these people are told how great they sound and made to believe they have a shot by the producers before being sent in to be laughed at. Yes, They are horrible and should not have auditioned but they should have been told during the first 2 or 3 auditions they go through that they don’t have a shot and sent packing. No need to make fools of them by sending them on to the Judges for TV. The new judge - I liked her. She seemed real. Very likeable and honest without Hollywood attitude like you get from Randy or Paula. The contestants - They all pretty much sucked. The Tattooed chick with the Fucked up ear lobes was ok in a Bar band kind of way. The girl named after Stevie Nicks has some potential. She will be a pretty girl for a few more years before she starts to balloon up. Very pretty eyes and an ok voice. The oil field worker was a pure cheese piece. The guy just didnt have that great of a voice. Yes he gets the "Good guy" award but the talent just wasn’t there. The Bikini Chick - What a fuckin joke but it was entertaining to see Paulas reaction. The Horror/Freak boy - He wasnt too bad. Some potential there. He had a good presence when he sang and I think he could do alright on a stage. The blind guy - another "Heart strings" contestant that just didnt sound that good. If that guy wasnt blind they never would have given him a shot. I am not sure if I will watch anymore of the audition shows because they really piss me off when they send in people they already know are horrible just so they can humiliate them.

Hell no. Like I said.. Pokey Nips = Good. Too many piercing = freak.. And not always in a good way. Like Dave said in the other thread, Sometimes that shit just gets in the way. Nothing wrong with a Hood Piercing if it help her get off.. But it isn’t doing anything for me either way. I dont care if it is there or not (And hopefully she wont need the extra help to get off either. If she does need the extra stimulation, I am not doing something right) Edit: And if I have first hand (or Tongue or other) knowledge of if there a piercing or not, Then "Prude" is not a term that comes to mind.

Pierced Nips - Hot because it makes them always look Pokey. And Pokey Nips are almost always Hot. Pierced HooHa - Labia or Hood.. Well it doesn’t really matter because If we have got to the point where I could see the piercing, I generally dont care if it was pierced or not!! Life is Good at that point.

Skiing?? Where?? I wanna go. And yes, The one that left you hanging was found at the base of the mountain having a beer once we got you down. That was a GREAT trip though. Operation Steal GFD was definitely a highlight.. I think there is still a quote or two from that trip in some siglines.

She will be so completely burnt out with-in a year or two. The schedule she has been keeping for the past couple years is beyond crazy. Beautiful girl and a great songwriter. Sad to see the way her management has over-exposed her. Edit: And I am as piggy as anyone but this girl is just too young.

The other reason so many people used to do that was Ebay didnt charge their cut on the shipping so it would reduce the fees the seller had to pay.. Either way, It was a clear indicator that you were dealing with a dishonest person in my opinion.

And the ridiculous "shipping charges". I understand a reasonable "Handling” charge and cost for packing in addition to the actual shipping charges but anytime I see a $1 item with a $20 shipping charge, I already feel I am dealing a dishonest person and will avoid buying from them even if $21 is a reasonable price for the item.
