Right now with all the manufacturers offering the "Employee Discount", It doesnt matter because the price is pretty much set by the factory on this deal. Normally... Yes wait till the end of the month but not right now. Also Check Edmunds.com and get all the pricing information "Invoice" vs "Actual Dealer Cost" (Two totally different things). Never go by KBB.com (Kelly Blue Book) as they are a dealer tool and not accurate at all. Their "Dealer Retail" will be very High and their "trade-in" will be extremely low. Their are much more reliable sites on the web for pricing info. Also, If the sales person seems focused on negotiating based on your "Monthly Payment", Look elsewhere. The only price to negotiate on is Drive out price. Tell them that Monthly payment is between you and your bank and has nothing to do with how much you will pay for the car. Do NOT pay and ridiculous "Doc" fees and/or Advertising Fees. These fees will be preprinted on the invoice and are nothing but SCAMS. Don’t pay them and be prepared to walk out if they will not budge. Best course of action.. Research the Car you want (Edmunds.com is the best site in my opinion for that), Research the value of your trade. Secure Financing before you go (http://www.capitaloneautofinance.com is very easy to deal with and has some great rates. I have financed several cars with them.). Write up your offer to include what you are willing to pay, What you expect for your Car add any LEGIT Tag Tax and Title Fees (But NOT Doc Fees) and come up with how much you are willing to write the check for. Tell them to take it or leave it. They will say no and then call you before you get home to accept your offer if it is reasonable.

The Latch on my Z1 broke recently. Anyone ever have this happen and how did you get it fixed? It appears that the latch is sort of riveted on and where would I get parts? (I checked the manufacturers web site but didn’t see anything.)

I am not trying to knock the convention at all with this thread. I will definitely be there. I was just disappointed that more of my friends were going to be joining me. I had a Fantastic time last year and can’t wait to go back.

Is the WFFC losing its allure?? It seems that this year there just isn’t quite the Buzz about the convention that I have seen in previous years. The DZ.com attendee’s list seems to be shrinking faster than its Growing. Very few people that I talk to who were there last year plan on going this year. Any speculation on why this is?? Too many other Major Boogies too close together?? (Skyfest, Lost Prairie, Summerfest) General Slump in the economy and outrageous gas prices keeping people closer to home???? Or is everyone just waiting till the last minute to start talking up the WFFC?? Or is this just in my imagination and Rantoul will be just as big as and better than previous years.

Oh??... What are they?? I am sure a Alot of DZO`s would love to hear about them. Seriously... They invest $4,000 to $5,000 in a new Rig. It is going to cost them a minimum of $160 per year for repacks and close to another $85 per year to maintain the cypress. A what point should they expect a return on their investment? The expectation of a reasonable profit is the reason businesses exist. Now for the person that is being charged $40 per JUmp and $85 a day for gear rental.. Thye need to take their business elsewhere. Those prices are not in line with the rest of the market and not reasonable.

A few things you forgot about there... Reserve Repacks, Cypress Batteries and Maintenance and general upkeep on the Rig. A better way to figure out the costs would be Depreciation + Cost of Ownership (Repacks, Maintenance & Repairs) + Overhead + Profit Margin. There are alot of other costs to be considered over the Purchase price for the rig. That said... My original Home DZ only charges $10 per Jump for gear Rental for Students who went through AFF or SL there but it is older gear (Javelin Adjustable MLW container, F-111 mains, Rip Cord Deployment and SOS reserve system). There is absolutely nothing wrong with that gear, but I would rather $20 or $25 per jump for something a little more modern.

I tried being Good once. It was unbelievably boring. I promised to never try it again!! I dont recommend it.

Thats My Tucan!! Not Unsable, Just Turns took longer to get started and when I went to track off... ITv took a couple seconds before I really started moving forward. Alot less resistance. I had a ProTrack.. I will have to go back and check it. I think it was around 137 average but I fall a little fast normally anyway.
