Information Needed (lakes..rivers...camping)
carbonezone replied to carbonezone's topic in The Bonfire
Hi all.....Scotty and I have some time to kill in between the WFFC and Richmond Boogie. I was wondering if anyone who is familiar with Illinois and Indiana know of a good place to camp hopefully somewhere on route from Rantoul to Richmond. We will have Herc and Tommy so needs to be dog friendly. They both love to swim so nice clean cool water would be great. Any info would be great. Tami -

DZ Manifesting programs/software
carbonezone replied to peterk's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Skywriter is another good one. I have used both Jumprun and Skywriter. They are both good. Skywriter has some great built in reports. Here is a link. http://www.skydivesoft.com/ -
Hey Bo....that is the most workable solution that I have heard yet!!!! That is something other long boogies should consider as well. Lots of planning and administration involved i.e.: (check payments, credit card, cash) regarding refunds but still a good idea that some might consider

Yay.....thanks Beth we knew you would come through!!!! Scotty and Tami

"Check at the beer tent" - not a chance....ever been in the big tent at night ? "Ticket Sales" - Tickets can be purchased in lumps so they could be used through out the week Manifest - Manifest is a good stop to check but most people are jumping with groups and 1 person is usually getting boarding passes "scenario here". When things are running hot, they (manifest) get quite busy (manifesting, air to ground radio, watching timer and so on). Not arguing with you here sweetie but when you are dealing with 1000's of boogie participants "a little hassle turns into a BIG hassle!" The multi colored wrist bands would work fine (with a little hassle) at small - mid boogie. But.......have you ever heard of any other boogies that offer registration fee discounts based on lenght of stay? Have fun all summer and at the BOOGIES Tami

Day passes would be great but the only problem with that it how do you manage it? Someone comes to reg. and asks for a day pass.....how do you really know that they are really only staying for 1 day?. I would like to think that people would be honest....but lets be real about that . Am I gonna get to see you there? Tami

Hi sean....I have added a link below. You can go to a great wind tunnel in NC and also recieve coaching. Here is your link http://bodyflightuniversity.com/ Tami

Yes, we are not in agreement with the vendor fees as well. Mostly the fact that we have to pay full registration for ourselves and our staff on top of the vendor fee (an additional $280.00). We have discussed this issue with the folks at WFFC. As far as registration goes for the Boogie itself, I honestly would not have a problem paying $70 for 10 DAYS of pure fun ($70 for entertainment and beer is cheap). Like I said above as a paying vendor I DO have a PROBLEM with paying $70 for ourselves and our staff who are working 99.9% of the boogie. Now if I were just coming for a weekend I wouldn’t be happy about paying full registration at all! But from the conventions point of view....how can you manage having different priced registration fees based on length of stay per person? It would be a nightmare to manage and monitor. All I know is I cant wait to see everyone and thanks for the kind words pops

There are several ways of giving back to the sport. On the Skydiving side of things we give back TONS. We are always looking to provide good, safe, and most importantly FUN skydives to ANYONE thats wants to play. Scotty and I are ALWAYS coaching the kids. The coach jumps are almost always FREE. When I say FREE I mean the student pays our slot. THAT’S FREE meaning we get ZERO moneys paid to us for that jump. Sometimes (a lot of times) we will pay for our own slot "if we have the funds to do so". Some people say "ahh if you people are just looking for a free slot". I say "FUCK OFF ASSHOLE" mind your own business. As far as the cooking side of giving back to the sport goes…..should we just give out free food (just a scenario) ......I think not. We have made Skydiving our lively hood and it’s what pays our bills. Scotty and I don’t make a lot of money doing it either. I have calculated what our hourly pay rate based on some boogies we have done and it is LESS THAN 1/2 of minimum wage. Now you ask "then why do you do it"? BECAUSE WE LOVE TO DO IT........WE LOVE THE PEOPLE WE DO IT FOR.....WE LOVE WHEN THERE ARE 150 PEOPLE SITTING AT OUR TABLES LAUGHING, EATING AND FINALLY RUBBING THEIR FULL BELLY'S. The bottom line is some people do depend on the $$$ that are generated by skydiving and they should NOT be frowned on because of it. Hell why is skydiving so different from anything else that includes fun when it comes to money. Fuck man...people have fun at Disney Land.....and they are paying for it! NOTE: this post is not directed toward any one person it’s just our gut. And we are also not in agreement with some of the costs regarding the convention but have brought those issues to the attention of the VERY HARD WORKING convention staff and I assure you they have been taken into consideration for change. Scotty and Tami

You are too kind sweetie....We will be posting our Dinner Menu on the WFFC website in the next week so drooooool away baby! Scotty and Tami

No not new at all. Its always located on the serving table or out somewhere on the seating tables. We have markers and pens and you can write whatever you want. We have boxes of them from all the Boogies we go to. It is so much fun to sit and read what people have wrote or look at the pictures they drew Tami Tami

Scotty and I are going this year and we really couldn’t even imagine NOT going There is no other place that you can run into long time friends not only from the states but from across the seas. And like everyone else has mentioned MAKE NEW FRIENDS! This season has been a very tuff season for us financially and we have literally had to scrape up the funds for our vendor fees….but all the scraping is SO worth it. I do agree on the aircraft argument I personally would love to Jump the Jet as would TONS of other people. I do know that some people don’t go anymore because the Jet isn’t there, so with that in mind don’t you think that if Don could get the Jet he WOULD get the Jet? That’s just my .02 on the aircraft. This year we have also staffed the Carbonezone so that Scotty and I can spend some more time jumping with you all as well. Of course the Carbonezone will not suffer from this so bring on your Happy Buddha Bellies and PLEASE PLEASE as least stop by to say HI and sign our guest book! Counting the Days, Scotty and Tami
