    Not trying to understate the goal in this record, but AFAIK this has already been done even wihtout engines.. Therefore doing it with engines seems kind of pointless ? I think if it was, and I recall something about a wingsuit jump from High altitude, he was exiting at 6500" from his take off plane and then was to maintain that altitude the whole way across from what I understood.     The UK has taken some major backward steps in terms of human rights over the past decade, and I'm very disappointed about that. But it's not really connected to this thread. I'm not bashing Switzerland, OK? I love Switzerland, I've spent a month or two there already this year and I'm heading back for Christmas. I've not got a problem with your country. I'm just talking about the limitations of pure democracy in response to a statement from another forum user. There's really no need to be getting so defensive! now dont get defensive yourself my friend, i'm not having a go at you; i love my country very much, i'm kinda torn between the answers of the original question of this thread; i fear switzerland is giving up its identity in some ways; and dont really know what to think!

    The rule making power of democracy needs to be checked at the point it infringes on the rights of any section of the population. You can't just let a majority decide to take away from a minority what the majority is allowed. That's incompatible with a free society.     Even if it's in violation with international conventions Switzerland ratified? IMO, the Swiss People's Party is just a bunch of retarded, racist, xenophobic, intolerant, bigot, populist assholes.
