and also, cooling a nuclear powerplant is not like cooling everything else you may know. the core-temparature is enough to produce something like 600lbs of steam, at a temparature of way over 300°C; per second!!! i cant really remember how high core-temparature is, but anyway.. it is HIGH! as i've said, i've worked ina couple nuclear powerplants, i even had the possibility to touch a couple containers that have worn out fuel rods in them. when i say, one of those things in your basement would be fine to heat your neighbourhood and your house for the next couple hundred years.. they are WARM. and that is only after they were cooled a LOT before they wwere planted in those containers and you were allowed to go near them; at least for a short amount of time. people dont have a clue when it comes to nuclear powerplants really.. “Some may never live, but the crazy never die.” -Hunter S. What is it with the people that wait until after something bad has happened to make up a story about how they predicted it would happen, just to get some attention? And why do people believe them? The "steel storage machine" (reactor vessel?) is intact for now, but they aren't allowing anyone close and are talking about distributing iodine.
