I think it really depends on how long your canopy will dive after a 90 turn. If lets say it will dive for 2000ft after a turn, then I would say that 90 is all you need. But if it will only go down for 100ft you are almost for sure not reaching the max speed.

PC-101 very good camera. Got like 10 jumps on it so far and love the thing. I also love the rawa helmet if you want to think about getting one of those. $320 after shipping, and it's custom made to your head, d-box already installed (side), has a top mount if you want to use it. Chincup, 2 audable pockets (internal). and looks way cool (most important)

Um, I see very little vignetting. Just a little in the top right corner. Are you sure you're not thinking of barrel distortion? I understood vingnetting to be black corners. I could be wrong?

1 in 450ish jumps. Had an FXC fire on me at 2000ft just as I unstowed the breaks on my main. Created a downplane and chopped it. That will teach me not to take student gear low. Edit: had to translate to english.

My reasoning is you have more do deal with if you have a malfunction. You will end up pulling low and landing off dz(happens to almost everyone) You have to be the best skydiver on the jump (fly and get good video) You must stand up you landings (biffing with a couple of pounds strapped to you head in bound to hurt. All of the above is just me. Not saying anyone can't do it, but that's how I feel.

Have the DZO talk to him. On safety day is was suggested that we institute a minimum number of jumps to fly camera here. He shot that down. I can try again I guess. Edited to add: Our DZO may not have been aware of this extreme case. I'll say something.

There is no min in the US, but it's generally accepted that 200 ish jumps is a good idea. I have 400 and I'm still nervous when I put a camera on. Edit: we actually had one guy at our dz to put a camera on 1st jump off student status. Everyone has told him that this is a VERY bad idea, but what can you do other than that?

I have a 98 custom as well, don't get to play PB as much as I would like, skydiving always seems to get in the way.
