  1. i wont address the in flite issues, BUT your deployment brake setting would be 4'' too high, and that could cause some deployment/opening issues on its own(unless you relocate the brake loops)
  2. any riggers out there havea source for kevlar " e " thread??
  3. speaking of Dave steves, do any of you oldtimers remember his Stinson mule(V77)??
  4. i am guessing a fairchild something or other.pic may be at taft mid 60's
  5. does anyone know if Earl Cossey is still around?
  6. I just read that Ralph White, a very early skydiving photographer, just died .According to the Associated Press , he also filmed the wreck of the Titanic over 30 times, was a cameraman for the TV series RIPCORD and ran a skydiving school in Lancaster c California in the 60's
  7. para flite's strato flyer was the first one i ever saw (1977) with just 3 line groups
  8. another carbone "incident'.... he had a reporter from the (N.Y.)village press come out to the airport and do a story about skydiving.apparently some illegal substances were used after wards in his van with the reporter and that was written into the article. HOLY HELL broke loose the next weekend as the dz operator was being investigated by the FAA and the NJ board of aeronautics(state d.z. license).carbone was nott welcome there for for somtime afterwards.
  9. ahh Scotty Carbounce. i havent seen him in 28 years.when he was jumping at Ripcord Parcenter in Nj (1978or so) rumor was he tried to emulate the scene in "Gypsy moths " where Burt Lancaster walks out of his harness just as he lands(quick ejector hardware ). scotty's plan was to pull his cutaway handle just as he landed....misjudged and cutaway at about 10 feet.!
  10. When you have a colostomy you have no choice.
  11. 2 guys are sitting at the bar.one says to the other"getting any on the side?'' the other guy says "hell its been so long, i didnt know they moved it!""
  12. What is the going rate for zero p fabric per yard?
  13. "money orders are not safe either" I'LL SAY. Charlie Mack(nitrochute) was paid by a guy calling himself Don Stutts. $1300 for a powered parachute canopy. BUT the money orders were bogus,so he did not ship it(yes it was reported to police). To add insult to injury, this guy has come on dropzone.com as "tangledlines" trying to ruin Charlie's reputation.Charlie Mack is now out of business, because of health problems,BUT he Has taken care of EVERYONE with a legitimate claim.
  14. I used to do the books for the company. As i recall this guy(tangledlines) paid with 2 conterfeit money orders,so the order was not shipped. But this involves a business deal between NITROCHUTE CORP. INC. and an individual,NOT Charlie Mack and an individual.
  15. they are not just accusations, the herd really did those things.and as proof, all one has to do to prove the jerry irwin blinding is to talk to jerry himself.
  16. yeah........a real hoot.....like the time they put jerry irwins eye out with a bottle rocket.a real "great " bunch of guys.i for one had my share of their bull .they visited our drop zone (which was doing a runway expansion)the herd members took it upon themselves to start up the construction machinery and put it in gear and jump off, leaving it to run into whatever.what did they care? they werent the ones who had to answer to the airport owners the following day.or the time we were being inpected by the NJ state bureau of aeronatics(required each year in order to renew your drop zone licence)Eric Santman got up in the inpectors face over hooking up his seat belt ,then after the jumpwent over tothe inspector to "thank " him in a very beligerent way about saving his life.took us a half hour to calm the guy down, but he had the power to yank our license or fine us or both.yeah the herd .a great bunch of guys.NOT
