What do you mean by bigger?? F-111 will pack easier then ZP because of the fabric it is made out of
-
If you assume that this could happen at -Perris- and all the people involved not know about it, then you're mistaken. I wasn't even on the load and I knew about it. Let me assure you that words were spoken. LOl

help needed making sense of used gear listings
Ironmanjay replied to countzero's topic in Gear and Rigging
You need to know what size MLW will likely fit you best. Take your height (in inches) and subtract your inseam (crotch to floor in inches) and then subtract 20; the result will be close to the length MLW will fit you best. For example, I'm 5'8" and have a 33" inseam. 68" minus 33" minus 20 = 15 - so a 15" MLW should (and does) fit me well. Each manufacturer has their own way of noting harness size. Javelin/Odyssey is commonly C17, C18 (C indicates yoke size, B yokes are also common; the number indicates MLW length). Other manufacturers go into more detail, listing offset and lateral length. As long as the person the container was built for isn't hugely different in shape than you are (ie you're 5'8" and 190 lbs and the seller is 5'8" and 110 lbs), the laterals, legstraps and offset shouldn't be an issue. Just in case, always be sure that the seller is willing to take the gear back and refund your money if the harness doesn't fit. You need to know what size canopies you intend to put in the container. With that information, go to the websites of the manufacturers of containers you are looking for and check their container sizing chart to determine what size you need. Note that each manufacturer has their own shorthand for labeling the container size; Javelin/Odyssey is J3k, J5, etc; Wings is W4, W7, etc; Infinity is I33, I42, etc., Vector3 is V310, V350, etc. With those two bits of information (your MLW size and the container size you need for each brand you are interested in buying), buying a used container sight unseen online becomes simple... well, simpler anyway. Ha listen to this girl she knows her shit..... You help out us newbies a lot skybytch, we sure as hell need it LOL -

So does a larger then stock slider help to slow the openings. Is it worth taking the chance of a neck breaking opening

Thanks bill does that include the prices for the cypress 4 yr service it needs and the reserve repack and excuse me it does have an RSL.
-
No it doesnt..... Does anyone care to comment on how much they think?

Javelin J5N size C19 harness (DOM - 7/00) with a Sabre 210 main and PD-218R reserve (6/04 - no rides as far as I know). Container has less than 200 jumps on it and main has only approximately 100 jumps on it. Rig also has a cypress (7/00) but will need 4yr service and batteries. And reserve needs repack. I was curious to what peoples opinons are for a price range on this rig Im thinking 2500-3000$ WHAT DO YOU THINK???

I usually learn the hard way but being humble is the way to go HUMBLE: 1. not proud or arrogant; modest: to be humble although successful. 2. having a feeling of insignificance, inferiority, subservience, etc.: In the presence of so many world-famous writers I felt very humble. 3. low in rank, importance, status, quality, etc.; lowly: of humble origin; a humble home. 4. courteously respectful: In my humble opinion you are wrong. 5. low in height, level, etc.; small in size: a humble member of the galaxy. –verb (used with object) 6. to lower in condition, importance, or dignity; abase. 7. to destroy the independence, power, or will of. 8. to make meek: to humble one's heart.

Would you like family to skydive
Ironmanjay replied to Ruskin's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Ahh you know I've theoretically asked myself this question too. I'm still up in the air about the whole thing since I am not a parent. It personally doesn't bother me that other moms and dads are skydiving.....Ive seen parents do whole lot worse to their kids then that!! I have friends who now have kids and wont even try one tandem so it all depends. I think if you are already a skydiver before you have kids then it will be an easier decision then if you have kids and get into it As of right now on my perspective on life I would continue to skydive if I had kids. -
WOW Skydive Wissota--Chippewa Falls, WI That sounds like a really kool Dz. I did Bill Dause S/L program. He is a good person all the way around. Especially for a starving college student like myself. 15$ a jump if you got your own gear!!!Thats the best

Its all in a day of skydiving
Ironmanjay replied to Ironmanjay's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I think the most important part of this was that I discussed what happened with my instructor and I am aware of what I could have done differently and what I WILL do next time. That will allow for a safer and proprer landing. And just to add to it this was not the first time I landed a 190.I had been jumping this 190 for at least the last 8 jumps. I just messed up this time and glad that it was only my ankle that suffered Thanks everybody
