  1. The clock is ticking and they are keeping score.... 100's night is acutally two days from now, but tonight is the celebration...Academy style. We have a dining in (for those of you who know what that is) then debauchery by alcohol with inevitably will follow, then I'm going climbing Saturday and jumping on Sunday..but I can't believe it! I'm almost done with the Big Blue Zoo! I apologize in advance..the Drunk Dial list will definately be pulled out!
  2. Aw damn...I'd love to come, but I can't leave and make it back by bedtime. I'm 23 years old and I have a curfew...you gotta be kidding me! "Dancing Argentine Tango is like doing calculus with your feet." -9 toes
  3. I highly doubt it, since most ROTC units are at major colleges. I would like to compare the Academy's reported rate with other schools, and on a national level to see how prevalent sexual assault really is. "Dancing Argentine Tango is like doing calculus with your feet." -9 toes
  4. Dating is nothing more then a job interview that lasts all night... Sorry about the rough time bro...we've all been there. "Dancing Argentine Tango is like doing calculus with your feet." -9 toes
  5. I agree with you. I'm not complaining about discipline in the freshmen class, or that my year was harder... that is not my point, this is not the forum for that. I don't like that '07 is not being offered that experience. I may not like what happened, but I don't have to like it, I just have to do it and say "Yes sir or ma'am" and follow my orders to the best of my ability. 6. In a sense, I agree and disagree with your statement at the same time. I would say a large portion of us were unaware what was going on. I promise you, if I ever heard of someone doing that to one of my "sisters", his life would not be pleasant. I agree that anyone who allows it to go on, and hides it as well, is not worthy to wear the uniform. I have always tried to hold myself to the highest moral and ethical standards. I admit, I'm not perfect, but I try to better each day. One question that many graduates and cadets are asking is "Is the Agenda for Change really going to solve anything, or is it just to placate the media and public?" That is a question I cannot answer, because while I have a front row seat, it is still early to tell. I didn't like that they removed the physical and mental stress that was an integral part of the 4th class year. I feel the class of '07 has been cheated out of experiences and the knowledge that they can push themselves beyond any mental and physical limits then they would ever have thought possible. Because of this whole situation, I am sometimes ashamed to say that I go to the Academy, even though I used to be proud of what I have managed to achieve. 9. I don't know if you're aware of what has been happening here at the Academy, but apparently we're on 20/20 tonight. I'd like to hear what everybody thinks about the show and situation (I'm sure 20/20 will give a basic run down of what's happened here over the last year). If you could please watch, that'd be awesome. "Dancing Argentine Tango is like doing calculus with your feet." -9 toes
  10. US Chair Force ...Cadet First Class i.e (2nd Lt select), United States Air Force Academy. I've been here 4 and half years. Too many memories (good and bad) to count..(hit me up sometime if you ever want to hear them) I will be attending Air Battle Manager school at Tyndall AFB, FL. I hope I will be worthy of the men and women under my command.... "Dancing Argentine Tango is like doing calculus with your feet." -9 toes

  14. Here's an excerpt from the AF Times, reposted from another message board. Apparently, I've heard that he's now at the Pentagon, still has his wings (he may fly again, yeah right) and has a line number for major. Beletic said Stricklin had a momentary lapse when he lost track of his altitude. Training at Nellis, the Thunderbirds’ home, had made Stricklin accustomed to starting flights at 2,000 feet above sea level. Investigators concluded that although the Thunderbird pilots were aware that Mountain Home was 3,000 feet above sea level, as Stricklin began his flight he subconsciously assumed he was starting out at 2,000 feet. The accident occurred on the first maneuver Stricklin performed, the report said. As the pilot of Thunderbird 6, Stricklin was the last Thunderbird to take off. As he had done about 200 times before, Stricklin began by flying a maximum climb at 55 degrees. He rolled the plane over so he was flying upside down and began the split-S maneuver. When the maneuver is performed correctly, the jet reaches an altitude of 3,500 feet before rocketing downward. Because Stricklin miscalculated his altitude, he topped out at about 2,760 feet. A safe descent would require 3,000 feet. As Stricklin started his descent, he was short 240 feet. Stricklin ejected at about 140 feet above the ground and less than a second before the jet hit the midfield of Mountain Home’s runway complex at about 250 mph. The $20.4 million jet skidded several hundred feet while burning fuel billowed behind it. When the Thunderbirds debut their 2004 season March 22 at Nellis for Air Force leaders, the opening split-S maneuver will be in the show, McSpadden said. However, the descent won’t begin until the plane is 4,500 feet above the ground, the commander said. That decision was made after investigators determined the maneuver’s 500-foot margin of error, accepted for the past 20 years, was too small, McSpadden said. Beletic and McSpadden said that before September, there was never an accident during the maneuver. Beletic’s report also found that the Thunderbirds’ high operations tempo might have led in part to Stricklin’s distraction. The Sept. 14 performance was the team’s sixth sortie in four days. A waiver was required to fly that often in such a short time, the report said. McSpadden countered that Stricklin had 10 hours of sleep the night before the performance. 17. Hopefully, I'll be able to swing a slot into pilot training eventually, so maybe I will get to fly a fighter some day, if I can get a waiver for my eyes. Damn depth perception test! I flew in an F-16 once, it was badass. There was video, but I couldn't get a copy, it was classified. "Dancing Argentine Tango is like doing calculus with your feet." -9 toes
  18. We do have the honor code...I think that should count for something.
  19. Yeah, but I am fairly sure they can't fly below a certain AGL (500?). We have flyovers all the time here, every plane in the AF inventory. I've seen an F-16 fly so low over the AFA stadium, it almost hit a light pole. "Dancing Argentine Tango is like doing calculus with your feet." -9 toes
  20. Stop me. Post whore. Actualy I wanted to be a fireman. Dem's fightin words... Are you actually one? "Dancing Argentine Tango is like doing calculus with your feet." -9 toes
  21. Hell, I know some of you still haven't, or still have no idea, despite the fact you're older then I am. So what did you want to be? I personally always wanted to be an astronaut, or an astrophysicist. Funny thing is I'm a Poltical Science major here at the Academy. P.S. You can't say post whore.
