  1. How do you know it's clear under 7000 ft.? I don't jump unless I see a hole coming up that I think I can make it thru.
  2. I got 2 e-mails, in my hotmail account, telling me my new DZ.com password (each had different, "new" passwords). Anyone else getting these? My old log in still works, so I suspect someones phishing. Think I'm right?
  3. That is pretty cool, the reactions are very funny. I guess suction cup shoes for the leaning bit. No idea on the others. Edo Concumbui Aethrae Cernuare
  4. Well if you're the only one in the course then you get lots of personal attention! And get out of class sooner so you can jump. Let me know how it goes. I'm stuck at home today working on my truck, but I get to go Instruct tomorrow. By the way, where are you going for your jump? Edo Concumbui Aethrae Cernuare
  5. Go for it! Edo Concumbui Aethrae Cernuare
  6. Don't wait too long. Many may say they want to go but will never find the time and/or money when they probably know deep down they really don't want to go. Many people start on their own, myself included, I waited 2 months for either of 2 people to come with me, finally got tired of waiting and just went alone. That was 10 years ago, neither of them has jumped yet, although one (my brother) is going to in the next few weeks. Probably alot of skydivers out there who started alone. Listen to your instructors and have fun! Plummeteer
  7. Yes, took me 39, had a couple of set backs, but was mainly due to currency issues (the time and dime types). You'll make it fine, hang in there it doesn't have to be exactly 25. Edo Concumbui Aethrae Cernuare
  8. My rigger/dealer, but he took one of the measurements differently than the form requested, I noticed it as I copied them (more neatly) to another form, so I had my wife take it, as written on the form. Edo Concumbui Aethrae Cernuare
  9. Got my new Bev today, paid for a rush ($20, 4weeks), got it after only 16 days. Bev did a great job, fits great with and without rig. Now I've got to test it (and me with booties) in the air. I'll be sending Bev a PM now, and posting a review soon. Mark Edo Concumbui Aethrae Cernuare
  10. It'll be easier on the next jump, now you know what to expect and will focus more on doing it right. My first jump didn't go any better. My instructors asked the right questions to keep me more motivated for more jumps- after first, "did you see the plane?" no, after second "ok but, did you see me in the door?", no, and so on. I didn't have to ask you because you told me exactly what you did. That's a very good sign of your situational awareness, which is very important in this sport. Hows Jennifer feeling about her jump now? See ya soon. I'm not on schedule this weekend, but plan on being out Sun. Mark Edo Concumbui Aethrae Cernuare
  11. Cool. And thanks. See ya, Mark Edo Concumbui Aethrae Cernuare
  12. Hey corey, how'd the race go sat. nite? We got 3 out of the class up and out about 6:30pm. Enjoyed havin you 2 in class. Hope you make it out sat. or sun. I have to work work sat., but will be JM sun. Sun supposed to be warmer too. Welcome to the forums, you can learn alot here, just have to be a little wary, you can always ask us at the DZ anything too. I don't post much but lurk fairly often, feel free to PM anytime. See ya soon. Mark T. Edo Concumbui Aethrae Cernuare
  13. Welcome to the greatest and most fun sport alive. I would recommend waiting until your nearly done with training to buy any gear more than jumpsuit, altimeter, helmet. You'll then have some experience, and you and your instructors will know each other, they'll be your best source of advise on a rig since they know your capabilities. Start saving now unless money is not an issue for you. Have fun, relax and enjoy. Edo Concumbui Aethrae Cernuare
  14. Show us your "before", you'll get some "after" ideas. What's wrong with it? Design, sloppy, unwanted name or initials? I don't know much about tattoo's but the ones I've seen that had been "removed" looked worse than just about anything I can think of that would've been there previously. Adding some more ink to transform it into something else seems more reasonable. I love to draw designs and such, probably many others here do too, maybe someone will have a good idea for you. Edo Concumbui Aethrae Cernuare
  15. Have we met? I remember someone that fits your description, sorta, of course this was back in the early 70's, and my memory hasn't been too sharp since then. You should be an interesting poster, so I think you should stay out on the boards now. I will continue to be a lurker, for the most part, I don't have much of anything nearly so coherent to say. Welcome to the forums! Plummeteer Edo Concumbui Aethrae Cernuare
  16. Thanks all for the help. I'll keep notes on the day's open and such y'all have given me, then call when I know what day, going to try and work it out for Fri. or maybe Sat. But have to do things while I'm there that I don't have control over. BSBD Mark (naturally I never seem to get to come down during the winter months) Edo Concumbui Aethrae Cernuare
  17. I'm going to be in Winter Haven 5/24-5/29. Am going to take a day to skydive, won't know which day until a day or maybe 2 before, will likely be during the week. I know Lake Wales is very close, Z-Hills not far, and Titusville somewhat farther. Where would there be a better chance of finding people to possibly fly with (I'm a belly flyer)? Thanks, Mark Edo Concumbui Aethrae Cernuare
  18. UPDATE LOGBOOK SET Jumpnumber = Jumpnumber + 1 WHERE Jumpnumber >= 100 AND Jumpnumber
  19. Seems like L&B could make it easier to fix ones f**k ups . I e-mailed them to see what they suggest, so I'll wait a while to see what they say. I can always start over entering them manually, it's only 63 jumps or so, much better than the 405 I lost in it last year due to poor back-up . Edo Concumbui Aethrae Cernuare
  20. I'm looking for some help in Jump Track 2.0. I've got jump numbers/info. matched up wrong due to some h&p's made following my static liners out, I wear a different helmet w/o the Pro Track so I always have this problem. I'd like to find out how to straighten out what I have, for now and future. I guess the simplest way for future would be to set up my ProTec for it and move it when needed. I don't know SQL, have tried one of the pre-written ones but it just made it worse because I don't really understand what it's going to do. I have it backed up, so I can just restore and start fresh (have twice now). Help would be greatly appreciated. Edo Concumbui Aethrae Cernuare
  21. I got one right after live water training, I want it for that (if nothing else). The 3rd time in the pool the lines sucked up around my legs as I was going up under the canopy to get a breath from an air pocket, I went back under to finish removing my harness (I did get it off) but as I tried to swim away the lines wrapped my feet together, had to be drug out as I was very low on air again, and I am a pretty strong swimmer. Just something else for you to think about.Quote Edo Concumbui Aethrae Cernuare
  22. Sorry, misunderstood, thought it said bj for 2 years. Imagine....... Edo Concumbui Aethrae Cernuare
  23. You won't get this everywhere. But then I'm from a small DZ. Even there it takes a time or two to be remembered sometimes. I'm sure it'll get better there to the more you're around. Edo Concumbui Aethrae Cernuare
  24. After 5 days our missing skydiver friend from K.C. has turned up safe. I don't know a lot of details, as I just found out. What I do know is, he was carjacked last Friday night, the carjackers released him today, in what was decribed as "the middle of the desert in Texas" His family is now on their way down to pick him up. Thanks for all prayers and good thoughts. We're all very relieved. Plummeteer Edo Concumbui Aethrae Cernuare
  25. A divorced/single Father of a 12 year old boy who is also a Skydiver/TM/Friend at Mo. River Valley Skydivers is missing, under what are suspecious circumstances. Friday around 7PM he called to tell (whoever had his son) that he'd be there in 15 min. to pick him up for their weekend together, he never showed up and hasn't been seen or heard from since. His bro. went to his home and found his truck was gone, the lights in the house were on, the dog was in the house (usually outside if away for periods of time). Giving every indication he would be gone for a short time. He checked all routes that might have been taken and checked any large ditchs and culverts one could get lost in, to no avail. He was scheculed to TM Sat., didn't show, didn't call. All family and friends are very worried. Police have been notified, but no info. back from them if they have any. This guy would NOT leave his Son waiting for their time together, willingly. I don't think it right to state his name with all of the unanswered questions. If anyone thinks they may know him, and would like to find out, for their peace of mind if is who they know, I will give a yes/no answer if they E-mail me. plummeteer@hotmail.com. I will describe his missing truck, as it is one a skydiver might notice, in hopes that someone may have seen it in K.C. or the Midwest in the last 48 hours. It is a mid- 90's dark blue Chevy S-10 and has a large (4 to 6" letters) 1-800-skydive on the rear window, last time I saw it, about 2 weeks ago he still had a black tool box mounted in the bed. I hope if anyone has seen it they will call the K.C.,MO police, or e-mail me. My prayers are with his family, especially his Son, that he is found or turns up safe and sound. Plumeteer
