1. Does anybody have a photo of a Vector V3 size 352 or 353? Thanks
2. yeah the 1:1.8 was a typing error. I am going to ask my instructor next week. If I go with a Triathlon 175 I will have a wingload of roughly 1:1.14 which is acceptable in my eyes, but again will ask my instructor. This is all hypothetically speaking, as I weigh 176lbs, and I am assuming I will have an exit weight of 200lbs.
3. I have 54 jumps, 36 of these done 2 years ago, and 18 done in the last month. I am looking at getting a 170 spectre to fit in a Mirage G4 M3, this will give me a wing load of 1:1.18, now is that too high or acceptable? I have just been looking at canopies tonight and so haven't had time to ask any instructors at my DZ.
4. That looks like a hell of a lot of fun! Oh it is, i have been on a fair amount of bikes (ridden other peoples) and this is by far the most fun bike going. As for the advice given about going for an OLDER rider to help you, that advice is spot on. Don't let a young rider help you, thats myself included.
5. This is my baby http://s478.photobucket.com/albums/rr150/R-Boris/?action=view¤t=450smr.jpg As for supermotos being heavier that's not true. My bike weighs 105kg where as the average road bike (excluding 125) is about 150kg or about 100-110kg for a 125. Anyway if the instructor put you on a scooter, to me that's him giving up on you and taking the easy way out and not trying to help you. He doesn't seem like a good instructor to be with. As I said before buy an old Yamaha 125dt for about £500-£900 and learn on that. Practice is the only way imho.
6. I got my bike Licence in January, I bought an Aprilia MX125 after I did my CBT, rode on the road for a few months then did a few lessons. I then did a direct access test (i'm 22 was 21 when i did my test) and bought a KTM 450smr and made it road legal. Now if you are thinking about getting a dirt bike for the road be warned, a dirt/supermoto bike costs a fortune to use as an everyday bike. I change my oil every 300 miles, I did a top end engine rebuild after 2000 miles, and of course if you into that scene you spend quite a bit on "bling". If you are thinking to sticking to a 125cc (boooo) I would suggest a Yamaha DT125 or a yamaha DTX 125. There engines are rock solid and the DTX is a pretty cool bike, plus if you get it derestricted it shifts pretty well for a 125.
7. As you know I am torn between getting a Mirage G4 or an Atom legend R. I am trying to find the best price I can get for an Atom Legend R in Camo with these options Knife Hip rings Stainless Steel Reserve pad freefly handle Anti twist risers BT performance Plus option all but 1 dealer I have tried to contact via phone or email for the Atom Legend R hasn't got back to me. So does anybody know any dealers in europe that can do a good price on an Atom R with the options stated above? Thanks
8. Does anybody have a picture of a Mirage G4 with a canopy and reserve in it? I want to see what it looks like before I purchase one. I have only ever seen M0 containers and while they look cool that size I wonder what they will be like larger.
9. Okay Which rig would you recommend I can get this Mirage G4 but in size M4 http://www.miragesys.com/store/?cid=100&iid=40 Or this atom, same camo etc http://www.dzsports.co.uk/atom-legend-r-176-p.asp The Mirage would cost me $2775 in total (if I get a friend to pick it up from the states) and the Atom Legend R would cost me about $3250
10. It would be my second cutaway As for my fascination... I don't know really. I only like two containers that are on the market, and they are the Mirage and you have guessed it, the Atom Legend R. I like how they have managed to produce a small container but still able to fit a 190 into it. I also love the yellow foam with black mesh netting, looks seriously cool. It's little things like that, that impress me, besides everyone has a javelin. Saying that it might be due to PDF taking ages to make 1 container
11. Do you know what size pd reserve or a similar brand will be able to fit in. It seems a bit of a joke to have a 190 canopy, and if you have to chop go down to a 155 Thanks for your help
12. Does anybody know what a size canopy and reserve a 0.5 or 0 container can hold. Thanks
13. It's a shame that as I really like the look of the Atom Legend R
14. Has anybody tried one of these? What are they like? I am thinking about either getting a Mirage G4 or a Atom Legend R. Also does anybody in America sell them as trying to find dealers/details on this rig is quite difficult.
15. Did you see the purple tie dye one? What do you think of that?
16. Here is one which I have made and one which I have seen, which do you prefer http://www.miragesys.com/store/?cid=100&iid=40 I don't know if the tie dye is worth the extra amount. Also what is the camo like, as I have never seen a camo G4 before.
17. Hello, considering i am a new to this my jargon isnt up to scratch but anyway at black knights parachute center they do a 6 jumps raps "solo freefall course" for £295 and then raps student progression jumps for £34 so if i have 20 jumps then that only comes to £771 which is quite a bargin! and surely i would have finished before april next year ( its the only time i can get 2 weeks off to do the AFF course, due to college) anyway what i want to ask and this is where my jargon isnt up to scratch when you have finished the 6 jumps raps course and you start doing the categorys 2-8 for the BPA is there an instructor with you to make sure you have done what is required correctley and also what type of parachute do you use (incorrect jargon) the round parachute or the rectangle parachute because with the round parachute you can not control where you want to goto and i do want to control where i go so i would like to use the rectangle parachute.
18. Hello, i am looking to start skydiving but i wont be able to start untill april next year (if i do the AFF course), but i can start today if i wanted too, if i did the RAP course, but i would like some information on the rap course, 1. How does it actually work 2.How long does it take 3.How many jumps are you expected to do to become a qualified skydiver 4. How much does is cost 5. Which is better because if i start the raps course now and become qualified by april next year and it works out cheaper then the AFF course i may as well do the raps, but if it will take longer then that then i may as well wait and do the AFF course. Any help would be great you can email me at boris73boris(at)yahoo(dot)co(dot)uk
19. yes,i think i will train in spain im saving alot of money plus i get more i will go with www.freefalladdicts.com the amount that i am saving could give me an extra 10 jumps, so it is better to train in spain.
20. I was going to do it in america but te cheapest flight i found was around £500 so its not really cost effective to do it in the US, the other bonus of doing it in america is the fact i would be able to buy a skydiving rig at a much cheaper cost then here in the uk, so im not to sure about skydiving in america unless i find a cheaper flight
21. That one is even cheaper, ill save up and go to that one plus its in a nicer area with a nicer scenery. Thank you
22. Yes after that i would get my A licence there website is here http://www.bkpc.co.uk/
23. i have looked at that, Black knights parachute dropzone looks the best and its the cheapest and its closer to me it works out at about £1700 that includes 8 jumps plus 10 consolidation jumps
