Careful not to call them a fluffer.

I saw the movie last night. Unbe-f'ing-leavable. It will be hard to top this...

That explains it: expense account! :) Wouldn't books work better?

Holy dog shit... That's one hell of a subscription!

I hear siren noise...

More like re-enactment of a bounce dream.

"Good dags. D'ya like dags?"

Interestingly enough, I started flipping through some material on risk perception, etc., just last week. Some very interesting stuff. "Judgment Under Uncertainty: Heuristics and Biases" by Kahneman, Slovic and Tversky is keeping me occupied.

Google Earth Drop Zone Project -- Ideas and Discussion

Niagara Skydive Centre (http://www.niagaraskydive.com/) in Dunnville, Ontario, Canada. -
That is actually excellent advice, Skymama. A classmate of mine just got back from London and basically told me that it was way too expensive to do AFF/PFF there (e.g. the "same price, but in pounds" deal)... And we're in Canada (it is cheaper in the States, IIRC)... Have fun!

Good point, but you also have to remember that waiting for technology is pointless. There will always be something just around the corner. If you want it & you like it, just get it.

Yeah, go figure... ah well, just ordered Crosswind and Good Stuff from Square1. ;)

Hey everyone. Does anyone own a copy of Golden Knights: Champions of the Sky (DVD)? How do you like it? I see it on Amazon for $14 (here).. too bad Amazon doesn't carry any of the good skydiving videos... Thanks Mikhail

Bonjour! Just kidding, where's the content?

I admit that I have no idea how AFFI's are actually coached, but couldn't this be a "fake student" coach giving the AFFI trainee a hard time?

Open it up and you'll see a shiny flat (3V, IIRC) battery somewhere on the motherboard. That's the battery you need to change. You can get it at any place that sells batteries. If you don't change it, your computer will start forgetting the clock and BIOS settings when you turn it off.

Jesus, I blurted it out just by looking at the thread title... Right on...

Coolness... I'll have to find some time to read through this. Mother tongue. ;)

Yes, SWOOP is definitely closer. They fly a C-206 and two C-182's according to their site. To me, an extra hour each way is worth the King Air jumps. :) The C-206 doesn't fly above 10.5kft at Niagara, yet the King Air does routine 13.5kft. I've been up to 16kft on that thing (I was the only solo jumper on a big-way load). *Fast*

Hey Nick, I am located in Waterloo myself (north of Cambridge). I did my PFF at Niagara Skydive, in Dunnville (close to lake Erie). They have a King Air and a C-182. You should definitely come and visit. It takes me about 1:45 to get there by car. I have also had a chance to make a few jumps at the Parachute School of Toronto in Baldwin. It is farther, close to lake Simcoe, but travel takes the same amount of time as you use the 400 series highways to get there. They have a C-206 IIRC. See you in the spring! :) Mikhail

Have you tried disabling AVG altogether? As long as you're careful, you should be fine. Mind you, I have been spoiled by running Linux (What is this "spyware" you speak of? :P). Mikhail

Second half of June would be very cool - those who will be studying during the summer will have a bit of a cool-off after midterms.
