  1. Happy VD to you too. Thanks for the warm fuzzies and glitter.
  2. But no one gave me anything for V-day so why should I give anyone anything for Steak and BJ Day?
  3. Haven't jumped since October (DZ's been closed). If I'm up here I really don't know when I'll jump again, it'll depend on the weather. If I get set up with a job in Florida and get moved down there then hopefully as soon as possible. This past summer I paid for every single jump I made by packing at the DZ. I miss that packing money. I probably only spend 10% of what I made out there on jumping. Everything else when to helping pay the bills. The DZ being closed is really hurting me.
  4. Most of the stuff I'm going to need when I get an apartment down there though.
  5. So as many of you loyal readers know I'm going through some tough times right now. I'm attempting to move to Florida to start over and it's not going so well. I feel that I'm missing out on alot of potential jobs because I don't already live there. One thought that keeps going through my mind is selling my rig. I really REALLY don't want to. Mostly because it's my baby but also because when I was looking around I was unable to find a used rig that fit me so I ordered a brand new rig. I'm afraid that since I'm such an odd shape for this sport that after selling my canopies I won't be able to sell the rig (which would be the big money maker anyway). I'm starting to run out of options. The thought is entering my mind more and more. But the more I think about it the more I don't want to do it. I'm so torn.
  6. When I was about 13 I saw my brother make a few jumps. After seeing that I decided I wanted to do it. To this day I don't think my parents have forgiven my brother for that.
  7. Mr. USA did a tandem at our DZ this summer. It was quite hysterical. I showed up after he had gotten on the plane. All I heard about was how he insisted on doing it in a little blue speedo. Naturally there was a fight among the TI's cause no one wanted to take him. I got to watch the landing. Later that night we watched the video. He was flexing all through freefall. During the first part of the video he just kept talking about himself and would wink at the camera every 5 seconds. No one could stop laughing. The worst part was when I realized that I graduated high school with him. I didn't recognize his name at first because he was using his stage name Ivan instead of Matt. He said he was going to put the pics and video up on his website but I wasn't able to find them for you guys. He probably wasn't too happy with the video when he saw that the TI was making fun of him by flexing as well. In case you're curious...http://ivanrusilko.angelfire.com/
  8. I've only ever used a Uhaul when I've moved. And that's my plan with my move to Florida. Although since I'm going to be living with my brother for a while at first I'm going to have to find a place to store it all.
  9. awe...such a cutie...are you sure she's related to you
  10. It's kinda rare but we do see a few every year. Skydive Pennsylvania in Grove City, PA. One of our new AFF instructors is actually a private pilot and flies a very very nice privately owned King Air for some rich guy. He brought it over once for us to have a look. But he never did let us jump out of it.
  11. 1. Skydive Alabama, Cullman AL. 2. Start Skydiving, Lebanon Oh. 3. The Parachute Center, Lodi, CA 4. Kutztown PA. 5. Tennessee Skydiving, Tullahoma TN 6. Oklahoma Skydive Center, Cushing Ok. 7. Skydive the Point, West Point VA. 8. Eagle Flight Granbury Tx. (counting cuz it had been there for years) 9. Skydive Aggieland Bryan, TX 10. Skydive Kansas, Osage City KS. 11. Skydive Pennsylvania, Grove City, PA
  12. No damage to the car. And make all the jokes about my slippers you want. They're comfy and keep my feet warm.
  13. So this morning I awoke to a very unpleasant sound. I live on the first floor of a 3 story house. My car is parked beside the house just off of the alley way. I was woken up by the sound of 2 chunks of ice falling off the 2nd floor roof, onto the 1st floor roof and then onto my car. I should have expected something like this to happen considering it's been in the 40s the last couple days. But when I walked outside and saw the size of the ice chunks I was grateful there was no damage to my car. Attached is a picture of one of the chunks of ice. There were 2 that were pretty much the same size. I put my foot next to it so you can get a better idea of how big these chunks were.
  14. I think you're the only one having this problem today. Sorry.
  15. Well now that you explain it that way it makes more sense. Now I can better understand you being upset. At first it did sound like you were just bitch about having to put a trash bag in a trash can.
  16. I can understand those words pissing you off if it's something that's actually going to take time and effort to do. But putting a trash bag in the trash can? Really? It takes all of 2 seconds to do.

    I'm up

EMS...we have 24 hour shifts as well but those are going to be disapearing soon. Studies have shown that if you get a crew who's at the end of a 24 and it's been one of those shifts where they haven't had a chance to so much as take a nap then the crew might as well be legally drunk. I do a little bit of everything, dispatch, run as an EMT and drive a wheelchair van. Tonight I'm dispatching.

    I'm up

I will say that I like being busy but it's never fun to call the boss at 3am and trying to find an emt willing to come in in the middle of the night.
