Last week I used my hc-40 like normal for 7 tandem vidoes, now when I turned it on the image in the view finder was upside down (ok on the screen). Anyone else heard or seen something like that? Karl Bob

Seems a lot of companies don't make good stock colors, I couldn't find a cool looking hovercraft anywhere on dealer lots!! KB

We use an patio chair cushion and a smooth table. The student lays on the pad and it slides easily on the table to simulate turns, and keeps the student at waist height. Also, a big DZ aerial photo in a frame with dry erase markers are invaluable for helping students learn and plan canopy flight. In FJC, we play "pick your pony" during one of the breaks. I bring the students out to watch a load land, and assign each student with a canopy to watch. They return to the classroom and try to draw out the exact canopy pattern of their jumper. It gives the students an opportunity to compare and discuss the differences and variances from traditional L-shaped patterns. Sometimes the jumpers show the students what not to do... One of the Air Force students showed up at our DZ with a video of her jumps. I was also surprised to hear about and see the training methods used by the Air Force, but I was looking forward to working with an "easy" student... It had been a while since she jumped, so we put her in the regular AFF program, with chance for quicker advancement if she was doing well. She did perform quite well, in fact almost too well... During her two weeks of Air Force training, and her subsequent jumps, she was taught to arch HARD! So hard, that when we first let her go, this 140 pound female maintained an average fall rate of 141 miles per hour. Nothing quite like freeflying with a Level 3... She also had some turn issues made worse by her fall rate, and she was having pretty HARD openings. So we actually trained her to arch hard at first, then relax (or in her case de-arch) to slow herself down, then all was fixed and she graduated. I wouldn't say anything bad about her Air Force training. She was very knowledgeable, and very stable, just needed some minor adjustments coming into the world of civilian skydiving, so that she could comfortably fly with others. Ha ha Eric. Why don't you come out and jump with us crazies outa the King Air... maybe hook up with some locals? Karl Bob

Just wanted to share our wonderful experiences with everyone... About the facility - a nice hanger with plenty of packing and lounging areas. Wide open field, with a special area for 1000+ jumps. Fantastic views of the ocean and the Space Center from the air. Easy to find, just off the freeway. No on site "restaurant", but who needs one when you have Mally. For only 5 bucks, she will make you the best home made food you've ever had at a drop zone. Close bunkhouse for crashing or post jumping lounging... About the airplanes - Who can resist shooting up to 15,000 one EVERY load, in about 7 minutes?!?! Their King Airs are awesome jump machines, with a very nice extended ledge to make up for the smaller doors. They are being flown by excellent pilots with smooth take off and jump runs (thanks Greg and Snore!!). Never a bad spot in all of our jumps there... only thing, you better pack fast if you want to make every other load, and it's turning... Most importantly, about the people - I have never been greeted so warmly at any DZ I have visited. The staff is super friendly and helpful, and the locals are a riot to hang out with. We got in some freestyle training, and Mike X volunteered to shoot outside video for us. But, after a while, we were so tempted to play we couldn't resist. Fabian invited us along for some excellent freefly jumps (you've got to see his freefall grin...), and we had a blast jumping with the other impressive local talent (Noah, April, Mark, Adrian, and Miss Natasha). When we were just hanging out there was always someone cool to talk to - Clif Burch, Dean O'Flaherty, Dave Hillebrant (sorry if I screwed up the spelling guys). These guys have some serious depth in the sport and lots of cool stories to back it up... Every evening after jumping we were invited out to dinner, or to parties... they almost insisted that we join them. One night we even found ourselves hanging out around a bonfire watching Napoleon Dynamite on a big screen in Snore's backyard... We have been to lots of DZs all over the country, and there are many good places to jump. We visited several DZs in Florida while we were there, and we had fun, but we kept coming back to Titusville. Thanks to everyone for a fantastic vacation... Karl and Merriah Eakins Team Flew-id Skydive Hutchinson, Minnesota Team Flew-id Making freefall pretty since 1998

I'm looking for a 119 like you have, where did you get yours? Thanks

From what I have heard, the push to change the rigs is comming from Airtec. They are putting pressure on all manf. that have the cutter underneath the pilot chute. Everyone can thank itiots that don't pull on time and sloppy riggers for all the trouble.

Try Rose at Skydive Hutchinson, MN. I know for a fact she has one brand new in our display case. Phone# 1-877-587-5875 Karl Eakins Team Flew-id

Just so you know, Jenny (white and purple on left) is TINY wearing the smallest used rig she could find. My wifes rig fits really tight in all body positions. Some dimentions in the photo are a little deceiving because Joel is shooting with a 8mm lens. It's hard to believe he is only 2 feet away for that shot! Karl Eakins Team Flew-id

Hey does anyone know Dave Schwartz, who is making a Couch Freaks video? Please help me get in touch so I can get one!!! *Support skydivers. Buy their videos* Team Flew-id Making freefall pretty since 1998

You don't really have to worry about exposure as long as you leave the white balance and exposure on auto. I just filmed the 60 way at couch freaks in IA, in all lighting conditions from mid afternoon til past sunset.

I've been looking for a 10D, seen prices from $799 to $999 to $1200 ?????? Does anybody know what the scam is or have any suggestions on trustworthy sites? I know, too good to be true, probably is...

One more small thing to add... Make sure the canopies you are putting in are similiar to the correct size for the rig. Otherwise the container will be soft and the pin/riser covers won't work as well. Good luck with your search

Has anyone heard anything about when the '03 video is comming out? I would kinda like to watch it before we head off to next years in Perris. Thanks Team Flew-id Making freefall pretty since 1998

A group of us were jumping a local A. It was a cold night so we all had ski hats on, as I went off the wind crept under my hat and whipped it off. The same thing happened to the next jumper... except when he went home and packed, he found it in the center cell

I don't know where you are located, but during the last weekend in October we are having the annual balloon boogie at Skydive Hutchinson, MN. As of last weekend we had at least 10 balloons signed up to fly and I think slots are $65. Karl Team Flew-id Making freefall pretty since 1998
