  1. From your link: 3: the general or abstract principles of a body of fact, a science, or an art What is your point? Evolution is not a fact, it is a theory (which is based on a body of facts). I didn't think I had to explain this to you ... Sorry, you're wrong. Evolution is both a fact and a theory. Evolution on a micro scale is a fact. Evolution on a macro scale is a theory. The context of this thread is the macro. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

I didn't think I had to explain this to you ... My point is that "Theory" has multiple definitions, so your statement is quite meaningless. Just because you lack the ability to distinguish between a fact and a theory based on a body of facts does not make my statement meaningless (or have the wrong meaning). It does however make your statements have the wrong meaning ... "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  3. Yeah, you don't have to knock French people over. You just have to tell them you're going to knock them over and wait for them to hand you all their stuff. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

  10. I'm a real skydiver, blah, blah, blah ... I'm so tough, blah, blah, blah ... The sport (like everything else) has always been changing. You weren't deserted, you stayed behind. Some people will like this and some people won't. Find the people that will and put your plan into action. Good luck ...

  12. So while Phoenix-Fly is working on improving performance and Tony-Suit is working on improving performance and safety, Bird-Man is working on improving ... street gear. You may not fly the farthest or fall the slowest but you'll look good and that is all that matters! "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  13. And whatever you do dont bother checking your air space before begining your turn. You have far more important things on your mind such as how cool you will look in front of spectators. No, no, no. You need to check your airspace (and the ground) for other canopies that you can use as an impromptu swoop course! "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

  15. As long as you're not behind the curve when swooping for safety. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  16. I think you're being dangerous. A Katana 107 should be swooped for safety ... "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

  18. Maybe. I need to know my goal before I make my plan. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  19. Are you being serious? "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  20. I definitely noticed. The first few attempts I kept finding myself going head down ... I'll try keeping the leg wing closed and slowly opening it. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  21. You're right, most of these accidents (especially canopy collisions) are preventable. However, that doesn't mean we should prohibit swooping all together and make RSLs, AADs, etc... mandatory. I think you are mistaking my attitude towards safety with my attitude towards adults being able to make their own decisions when it comes to their gear. No and I hope I never have to (I did take a first responder course in case I have to). "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  22. Back-flying is turning out to be much more difficult than back-tracking. Does anyone have any tips? "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  23. Because some skydivers accept that level of risk. Some skydiver accepting a level of risk that is different than yours does not mean that they lack awareness. How do you know we would have 1/3 the fatalities? How do you know we wouldn't have 1/3 the skydivers? "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  24. But are you having fun? "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
