Thoughts ... I'm an outlier of this profile. I believe drugs and guns are not the root of the problem and thus legislating them gives us a little temporary safety at the cost of essential liberty. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

The Economist says (again) to legalize drugs.

I vote we keep drugs off the streets. . .like the majority of the people. sounds like liberty to me. What is your evidence proving that drugs cause a negative impact on society? This is my line. . .not yours. You are on the wrong side of this quote. Legalization is the temporary safety. Some of you are even willing to write off a "small percentage" of people caught up in this. Very caring. Sounds like a bunch of oblivious college freshmen experiencing their first radical professor. I don't believe drugs are the root cause of the problems and thus I believe legislation against drugs is the temporary safety. I'm caring for all the responsible individuals who have had their liberties removed. So you believe that I practice pseudo-intellectual and ignorant (It's spelled ignorant.) thought processes brought by inexperience, reading silly articles in magazines and don't know the line between hare-brained theory and real-world practices. You're showing your ignorance of what I practice. There's going to be less inspiration with all that crap on the streets. This is what I don't want to go away. What is your evidence proving that drugs cause a negative impact on inspiration? Liberty is a theory to you. You know nothig else. Your showing your ignorance of what I know. (It's spelled nothing.) Your first line is right; "limited experience." It doesn't take long for you to quickly figure out which L/O's are looking out for the group and which L/O's are just "there." There will always be a select few dedicated to being the best they can be and are looking out for the broad scope. Wait'll you're in a plane with Scott Bland, you can see a hole, but he won't go because he can't be 110% sure everyone can find their way... You ride the plane back down or exit as a solo at your own risk. Two of the solo's that exited at their own risk barely made it to the DZ and the DZ suspended loads immediately following. Scott B. is one you can always trust, and trust with a blindfold on. There are others, but they're damn few (in my own "limited" experience). I've been on a load that Scott Bland organized (and I thoroughly enjoyed it). Just because there is a load organizer does not mean you should feel safe about any of those things mentioned ... PS: So, why don't those with more experience mention who should and shouldn't be trusted? "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

In my limited experience I wouldn't recommend feeling safe that the load organizer has placed people where they belong, exited the plane where we all belong, or guided us all to where we can open and land safely. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

Without my cousin in the equation, did you read the part about 4000-8000 deaths PER YEAR. That's a whole lot of irresponsibility for which to account. You know... kinda like everyone jumping up and down about 4,000 soldiers dying over a five year period, but this many in just a one year time period. I did read the part about 4000-8000 deaths PER YEAR. Do you know what percent of our population that is? Once again, should we take away the freedoms from the majority because of the actions of the minority? No! "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch -

Just because your cousin was irresponsible doesn't mean everyone is irresponsible. Should we take away the freedoms from the majority because of the actions of the minority? No! PS: Should someone get the death penalty if they get in an accident that results in the death of another while eating, drinking, putting on make-up, talking on the cell-phone, texting on the cell-phone, etc...?
