U.S. Senate Votes Formal Apology for Slavery

Yes; well, the sun never sets on the Irish Empire. Empire building is evolution ... you adapt to your surroundings to survive, then you conquer your surroundings to thrive. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch -
U.S. Senate Votes Formal Apology for Slavery

Hmm... maybe the Brits can apologize to the Irish and the Indians, for starters ..... (Edit to add: no, actually that's not sarcasm...) How much do you know about the Irish? I have it on good authority they invented the potato. I have it on good authority they used to use the British (along with other Europoeans) as slaves. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch -

Agreed. I wasted money trying different goggles only to come full circle ... flex goggles are cheap, durable, and work great. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

Making Sense of Stimulus Spending "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch -
Sounds like the other wingsuiters at my DZ. Speaking of them ... ... make your money and get back to wingsuiting with me. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

Why did he rely on someone else for his own altitude awareness? (It makes no sense to me ... and I just want to learn, if there is anything to learn from it.) O It was a professional stunt. Professional stunts have increased risks and increased rewards. One of the risks for this stunt was to rely on someone else for his altitude ... The question you should ask is what is the possibility and probability of the risk occurring and what is the consequence? To me, the possibility and probability of the risk occurring are high and the consequence is serious injury or (more likely) death. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

Thanks for sharing. It's refreshing (and entertaining) watching videos other than flocking. Now if only there were more wingsuiters in my neck of the woods ... "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

Another thread made me wonder who are the midwest wingsuiters and where are they (dropzone) ... Edit: Because some people didn't understand that where was referring to dropzone. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

Health insurance ‘haves’ to pay for ‘have-nots’?

Did you bother to read the thread? "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch -
It's nice to see some safety issues being addressed. Hopefully people learn some of these lessons the easy way because eventually luck will run out ... then it's the hard way. Good point. A lesson I learned the lucky way ... you need to be looking for people slightly above and in front of you, below you, and slightly below and behind you during breakoff. In the first and second case, someone might kill you. In the third case, you might kill someone (and yourself). "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

As it has already been pointed out multiple times that the man has already made his choice by that point. Second guessing one's choice after the fact is not the same as not having a choice. As it has already been pointed out multiple times that the woman has already made her choice by that point. However, we allow the woman to make another choice which raises the question ... why not allow the man to make another choice? "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

Unlike you, I actually READ the article, and noticed he had done an FFC and initial wingsuit jumps way before he jumped this one. From the article: I actually READ the article. You forgot to include ... ... I didn't call it a student suit because he was taking a FFC, I called it a student suit because he was still asking student questions. "That looks dangerous." Health insurance ‘haves’ to pay for ‘have-nots’?
Butters replied to Butters's topic in Speakers Corner
You say that as if it's not already happening today. How do you think hospitals pay for all the "uncompensated care" that comes through their ER doors? The costs of the entire system, including charity care, are spread across those who are actually paying into it. This proposal just makes it more direct. It was the title of the article. Did you read the article? The point of the article is that employees who receive health insurance benefits from their employers could be taxed for those benefits ... "That looks dangerous." Obviously it depends on the jump and the requirements, but in general there is nothing wrong with opening at 4000ft on a wingsuit jump... Or 5000ft ... In a fantasy world, you would know when everyone was deploying and everyone would deploy when (and where) they were suppose to. In the real world, everything you knew in the past can change in the present and everything that was suppose to happen probably won't happen. I thought it would be common sense that backflying would be dangerous after breakoff when flocking (and potentially solos) ... "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

Remember, we're not comparing biology, we're comparing legal choices. PS: But I could argue that the effects on the father's body and life dealing with the effects of a pregnancy on the mother's body and life could be comparable. Yes, it's a joke, relax ... "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
