  1. Blah, blah, blah ... if you have nothing to hide than you have nothing to fear, submit to authority where you are guilty until proven innocent. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  2. What if you don't have pot growing in your front yard but they want to search your attic without a warrant? PS: This is similar to not stumbling out of your car but they want to draw blood. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  3. I suppose you have nothing against a warrant less search of your property ... after all, if you aren't doing anything wrong than you have nothing to hide. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  4. Take the exact same statement and now think about capital punishment, something you do so very well in America. Well done. One person is innocent until proven guilty, the other person has been proven guilty. Next ... "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  5. It hasn't come ... a group of people with personal agendas are proposing new ratings and regulations while using incidents that are either fictional or wouldn't be prevented by the proposed ratings and regulations. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  6. As usual, you're wrong ... why don't you do us (and yourself) a favor and stop posting and start reading. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  7. and for all we know given the proper time we will be able to improve on our judging criteria as necessary. if we come to the conclusion that we're doing such cool shit that the silly grid is old and outdated, we'll move on to bigger and better, whatever that may be. again... at least we are beginning to have SOME FORM OR RECOGNITION. this is BIG!!! What will you do with all the records when you change the judging criteria? Could we see a large record reduced to a smaller record because of changing the judging criteria? I'm just thinking ahead ... "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  8. Thanks for sharing. I found it impressive ... the time, the distance, and the navigation. PS: I can't wait until I can fly as far as the current Federal Aviation Administration Regulations require for flight visibility. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  9. Once again ... when are they going to make records for the longest delay or furthest distance? Because this whole two dimensional grid is lame. Why? Because we all know that given time we will have people skilled enough to fly tighter three dimensional formations (possibly like CReW formations) that the grid will not be able to judge ... 10. And yet many of the people that were complaining about Bush's spending aren't complaining about Obama's spending ... "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  11. Well, this past weekend there was a load of women in lingerie and men in dresses ... But were they having sex? In plain view of the public? We are Wisconsinites, but not Amish. Of course we were having sex while doing drugs in plain view of the public ... that's how we roll. PS: Skydiving is an adult activity because of the risks not because some people can't refrain from discussing or participating in drugs, sex, swearing, etc... in front of others (at the wrong time and or place). 12. Well, this past weekend there was a load of women in lingerie and men in dresses ... "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  13. As a climber and wingsuiter I would have paid to be on those jumps ... "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  14. To be clear, you are incorrect, I didn't say it would end skydiving, I said that it would end skydiving "as we know it" in the US, that it would drastically change the self policing freedoms that we are entrusted with today, and the effect will go BEYOND just wingsuiting, that is one of the central points to take away from this, it will affect all of us. Tom Noonan My point was that the consequences will fall largely (if not solely) on wingsuiters since tandems are the bread and butter ... Edit: Maybe I'm wrong ... "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  15. So, you were homeless but now you're squatting (I guess you call it sitting on that side of the pond) ... "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  16. It won't end skydiving. It will end wingsuiting ... "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  17. I doubt that there are any "pock-rocket" flyers that would want to be our target/video platform. I think it's more fullfilling as a wingsuiter to be flying with a canopy than flying by a canopy. I agree. A lot of reward for no risk. Then again, I'm just a tourist who agrees with ... 18. So when are they going to make records for the longest delay or furthest distance? "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  19. "I'd tax that ..." "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  20. There are many good points in this thread. One of the things I find common amongst individuals who don't track or new trackers is that they believe that tracking dives are always flown as flat and fast as possible. Tracking dives are flown in a wide range (and the goal of a skilled tracker is to have control over a wide range). Let this be known (because there are people who won't go on tracking dives because they think that they won't be able to stay with the dive) ... PS: Here are some good videos: Nordic 2007, Nordic 2008, Nordic 2009. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

  22. What does an individual with 200 jumps and a C-license have the an individual with 200 jumps and an A-license doesn't have that is beneficial towards wingsuiting? A logbook that has been (hopefully) inspected for accuracy by an S&TA or BOD member, and documented completion of some exercises that require air awareness and experience beyond just flailing around for 200 jumps. ^ This. ^ This is a joke ... Have you looked at the exercises? They're not beneficial towards wingsuiting. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

  24. And here lies one of the problems ... you want to create ratings and regulations based on subjective reasoning instead of objective evidence. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
