  1. How G.E. made $5.1 billion in the U.S. tax-free "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  2. Well sure, he'd have to ...what with being wrong and all. oh sure, now the pile on begins - you guys just hate brown people You're just trying to change the subject. You want to teach kids that driving is one dimensional. Why do you want to teach them wrong, do you hate them? You hate kids ... "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  3. If you are dating and your partner gets injured, you are not responsible for the bills. If you are married and your partner get injured, you are responsible for the bills. That's just one ... "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  4. Why not? After all, there are extra responsibilities for marriage. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  5. Blah, blah, blah ... how was the train ride Margie? "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  6. What do you think about this? "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  7. The hot air you spew goes WHOOOSH around everyone's head. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  8. Yep, the people like me that continued to pay their mortgages while they were going underwater ... "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  9. Are you suggesting that the wealthy don't buy things, live in homes, etc...? Forget the punctuation, spelling, and grammar because this isn't even coherent. Next time, write, read, make corrections, and then post ... "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  10. So what? Anti-social conspiracy theorists aren't the audience I'm addressing. Did you look at the thread title? Of course. Did you read my post #52, as well as the preceding discussion to which it responded? That preceding discussion was the audience I was addressing. Yes. Like I mentioned, in both situations the intervening countries did so because the amount of resources needed to intervene was less than the amount they stood to lose if the outcome was not in their favor or gain if the outcome was in their favor ... it's the way the world has worked, is working, and will continue to work because resources are limited. PS: It's also why both (neocon) Republicans and (liberal interventionist) Democrats say different things but do the same things. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  11. You got it. Not a good historical analogy. Meh...since it didn't relate to the topic at hand I didn't take it as an analogy. I took it as a direct question. Funny, though, how people use analogies, good and bad, to shore up their stance on a topic. Analogies have their place in life but it comes all too often that making analogies takes the place of being able to rationally explain your stance as related to the topic at hand. Funny how people take different stances in different threads, don't explain anything in detail in any thread, and can't understand analogies ... "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  12. That's not spelling out anything ... what is the bottom line? "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  13. So what? Anti-social conspiracy theorists aren't the audience I'm addressing. Did you look at the thread title? "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  14. How many wingsuiters are at your dropzone? I fly at Skydive Twin Cities (Baldwin, WI) ... "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  15. You got it. Not a good historical analogy. The French government still in power at that time was the monarchy and the monarchists. Ideologically, they probably sympathized far more with the English monarchical government than with the American colonists. That French government couldn't have given 2 shits about the rights of, or oppressions against, the Americans colonists. France aided the Americans mainly as a strategic counter-move against its arch-enemy, England, and secondarily to try to corner the purchasing market on American cotton. I think it's a good analogy for those that think America is intervening in Libya because of oil. After all France intervened because they wanted American resources but England was restricting America's trade. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  16. Now, THERE'S a clear-headed thought for discussion.
  17. It's not considered a civil war because it's adequate in courtesy and politeness but because it's of or relating to citizens. Oh I'll be damned! I didn't know that, did you? I noticed. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  18. You got it. Got it. No one should intervene in the business of any else ... regardless if they're being robbed, enslaved, killed, etc. Got it. In America's Civil War international intervention was blocked by Lincoln threatening war (and other political repercussions) while "killing his own people" ... However, I believe there is a difference between killing people to remain in power and killing people to end slavery. I knew it was coming...."Yeah, yeah, yeah....But that's different!" It didn't take long. If you can't (or won't) acknowledge the differences than there is no point in further discussion. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  19. The Revolutionary War wasn't fought in circles? That's up for debate ... this is Speakers Corner after all. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  20. P.S War is NEVER 'Civil' It's not considered a civil war because it's adequate in courtesy and politeness but because it's of or relating to citizens. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  21. Do you think the French should have stayed out of the American War of Independence? In America's Civil War international intervention was blocked by Lincoln threatening war (and other political repercussions) while "killing his own people" ... However, I believe there is a difference between killing people to remain in power and killing people to end slavery. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  22. 20's? Thats friggin COLD! I prefer mid 70's. Temperature in April at Tampa, FL: High 81° - Low 62° "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  23. And you know all the people who have jumped a wing suit? Sparky Nope, but there are plenty of people here (and in other threads about this topic) that either state it or state things that suggest it ... "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  24. I don't have my own version of utopia. How can anyone even grasp that type of perfection? It's supernatural...I put my faith in God for stuff like that. So you're ignorant about utopia and prefer to remain that way. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
