More then the cost of providing it free, is that in so may American cities public transit sucks to the point where it is completely unusable. If a larger portion of the population were forced to depend on it for complete mobility, it would become evident how under-built the system is. Subways would need to be built, thousands of busses bought, etc. In most American cities, public transit does pretty good at getting commuters to work, but fall short of being a complete transit solution. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead. -
Mack is a 3rd party waranty service sold by some of the online retailers. I paid an extra $200 on my PC-120 for an "extended" waranty. If it works out, it'll save me the $200 that a standard Sony "waranty" repair costs. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

Tandem Questions re weight of student and cost...

Some dz's charge more for hevier people because it requires a special kind of TM to jump - someone who's strong enough to flare the heavier jumper AND light enough to fit under weight guidelines established by the gear manufacturers. Those TM's are rare. They may choose to only take a heavier passenger to 6,0000 because the heavier jumper is straining the gear, so they lessen the wear on the gear by having slower-speed deployments right out of the plane - ie, you don't get any freefall. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead. -

How was your experience taking the rig as carry on

I can't count the number of times I've taken mine carry-on. The worst problem I ever had was resolved by showing the Cypres card. I usually fly out of O'Hare or Midway, and these trips include flights to the east, west, south coast and Canada. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead. -

The FAA could not find the flight plan the pilot had previously filed. Restricting access to DC airspace is enforced by the FAA under direction of the TSA. Granted that fault lies predominantly on the pilot for not managing fuel properly... Rantoul is a good place to do a tandem, but don't expect to be able to stay around for the parties. Admission to the convention "proper" is pretty tightly controlled, and doing a tandem will not necesarily get you in. Since you live in chicago, you're so lucky to have 3 aweseome dropzones nearby. You'll have more fun in the social aspect... I'd recomend you give a call to Chicagoland Skydiving (hinkley) , Skydive Chicago (ottawa) , or Millenium Skydiving (kankakee) and do your first jump there. The rigger should notify the property manager that it was stolen property, and the property manager should return the $400. Selling stollen property is not cool. Edited to add: Since the canopy belongs to PD and not Grasshopper, it's entirely up to them how to proceed. Grasshopper has already had the canopy replaced, right? Unless PD volunteers to cough up the $400 to the rigger, I think the rigger is out of luck...? _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
