I'd be very surprised if your gear hasn't had that done already... That service bulletin is over 3 years old, and was manditory. Check with your rigger to be sure. I think I paid $5 to have mine done at the next repack, if I remember correctly... _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

When the drug problems first surfaced at SDI, a bunch of jumpers left. Most of that bunch ended up at Hinkley. When SDI closed, most of the remaining jumpers went to SDC. Anyways, I haven't spoken to any of the DZO's... but I too would be willing to bet they'd make you a deal. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

Heh... skydiving has made slashdot a few times. here's an ariticle they posted on Joe Jennings "skydriving". Here's another called "Space Diving" where they post an absurd story about a Canadian company who would launch jumpers into space abord a DISPOSABLE TWO-PHASE SOLID FUEL ROCKET, and we'd be able to jump from 62 miles, even though Kittengers jump in the 60's - the current record, is only 19 miles... Funny article, but I couldn't believe slashdot fell for it. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

Nope... I'd love to go to summerfest, but not until they schedule it a different week. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

I wonder if one of these is gonna be the "beer" tent? http://www.freefall.com/images/rantoul/07272003/alt/pages/DCP_0323.htm _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

At the very least, a good hook knife will give you a way to occupy your mind as you plummet to your death under a double entaglement. As an added bonus, it might just save your life. Get a good one. I take a "Jack the ripper" on every jump. I've sewn pockets into all three of my jumpsuits, and move the knife between which ever suit I'm wearing at the time. Also - do not use your knife for anything that isn't a life or death emergency. I frequently see people using theirs to cut rubber bands. What the hell is the point of having one if you're gonna dull the blade??? _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

Winsor, there will be at least two PC's in gutter-gear rigs at the AFF tent, be sure to stop by to pick up a few more jumpers. A PC formation jump would be awesome... _Am (who jumped his first PC today...) __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

Marked the big 500 with a (beer) gutter-gear jump, I took a 24 foot Para-Commander out for a spin. It was packed in a Crossbow, with a lo-po belly-wart. Turned 8 points on a two way, we wanted bigger but came up short on the number of in-date resrves. Landed in 8 feet of corn. I wanna go again! _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

Now I have to decide between Infinity and Wings

Additionally, it'll be much easier to sell the "gear of choice on your DZ" when it comes time to get rid of it. This might not be an issue at Perris, but it certainly was an issue at that tiny little dz in upstate NY where I started jumping. There, people kept talking me out of buying what would have perfectly good gear, but was unknown to them. In Chicago at a medium sized DZ, everyone jumps Jav's, and all the new jumpers want to buy Jav's. Here, people know about alternatives, but want the "in" gear. While a knowledgable person like Lisa, or Ron, or (humbly) myself might know "X" brand is perfectly good, selling that gear later WILL be harder. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead. -
I've never heard of a rig being denied on an airplane because it was too big. They get denied for other reasons... but I've never heard of one being too big. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

Actually, stats is a pretty regimented science. Those who understand it can easily spot that ones that've been skewed. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

I'm Canadian, living in the US mid-west. I visit skydive Gananoque in Canada every summer as it's 10 minutes from my dad's cottage. USA Pro: big turbine dropzones. cons: corn fields are only so interesting... Canada Pro: stuningly beautiful scenery Cons: Cessna 182's get tired quicly. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead. -

I agree. I can't understand how anyone who has even the most basic understanding of statistics can claim this to be even remotely true. Yet, I hear it pretty frequently. An example right here. excerpt: I went through all the statistics arguments about it being safer than driving to the mall, etc.. I'm wondering if people really, honestly believe this. My personal belief, is that skydiving can only approach being somewhat safe after you've acknowledged that it will never be. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

I've seen a lot of people claim that skydiving is safer then driving... I'm wondering how many believe this. Yes or No? _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

I think they should wait until the trial... After all, is admitting to sleeping around really grounds for killing a product? If that was the case, I don't think there'd be many NBA players available! __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

Go to your Start Menu, Settings, Control Panel, System. Click the Hardware tab, then hit "Device Manager". Do you see anything with a red "X"? Also, can you read normal CD's from that drive? _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
