I finally have the dog I have always wanted. Molly is a German Shepherd and is quite the handfull at 14 weeks. When she grows up, It is my hope that we can participate in SAR activities together. Anyone else have a Search and Rescue dog? I have worked with them in the past and found the teams to be facinating. Any recommendations on training/certification would be appreciated. Sounds to me that your infatuation over a long period of time is clouding your senses. If you saw this (her) behavior in your best friends significant other, what would you say to him? Remember the old saying: If you love somthing, set it free. If it returns it is yours, if not, it never was (or somthing like that). Try teling her you need a little break. It will hurt, no question if you really love her, but better to hurt a little now, than to continue in a relationship that to the rest of us, sounds doomed to fail. Good luck. "Always do right. almost. Just finished watching the series finale. A pretty good "guy" show that i'm sorry to say, I missed the first 6 seasons. Fortunately, I now have them on DVD and can watch at my leasure. No spoilers here but, the end sets up a future movie pretty well. "Always do right. This will gratify some people and astonish the rest" ~Samuel Clemens MB#4300 Dudeist Skydiver #68

Thankfully, my wife refuses to watch that crap. "Always do right. This will gratify some people and astonish the rest" ~Samuel Clemens MB#4300 Dudeist Skydiver #68

A couple thousand hours on the flight deck of an aircraft carrier at sea kinda makes ya immune I guess. Hell, I actually miss the smell of JP-5 and Jet-A after a while. Although, I do know a guy who gets violently ill if he comes in contact with JP. Got himself sensitive to it over years of gathering fuel samples w/o PPE. "Always do right. Congrats on passing the course and welcome to the world of motorcycling. I'll 2nd (or 3rd) the Honda Shadow recommendation. My wife actually has one as her first bike and she can handle it pretty well (the only other bike she rode was a 50cc Rebel in training). We bought it 2.5 years ago for 3.5K and can probably still get that if we sell it now. Plenty of power for a first bike and very well balanced. Be safe, have fun, and remember - everybody else is trying to kill you out there. "Always do right. This will gratify some people and astonish the rest" ~Samuel Clemens MB#4300 Dudeist Skydiver #68

Who can help with info/hookups on next shuttle launch
SARLDO replied to simplyputsi's topic in The Bonfire
I have seen a few since moving to Orlando 2 years ago. My first was a night launch from the KSC. Awesome launch but not worth the time and money. I would recommend driving to the east end of highway 50 with a good set of binoculars. Cheap, less traffic and a better view of the vehicle coming off the tower, unless you can get to the media/executive viewing area that is. Good luck with that as by now, tickets would be gone. My Executive Officer has a hookup at KSC and is trying to get a bunch of us from work out to the Apollo museum for the launch. We'll see... "Always do right. IMO, you won't have enough time to totally enjoy Yellowstone with this plan. Give yourself a minimum of 5 days in the park and you will still wish you gave yourself more. BTW - Congrats on the upcoming degree. "Always do right. This will gratify some people and astonish the rest" ~Samuel Clemens MB#4300 Dudeist Skydiver #68

What would you think if you just got a 2% salary raise?
SARLDO replied to Cornholio's topic in The Bonfire
"they need more because they work hard" that's a pretty stock and meaningless comment what could they make in another job with the same entry requirements? that's the basis it's subjective, not a sound bite what someone 'deserves' is about their utility. not about our emotional response edit: I recognize this isn't a very popular statement, but I can make the same argument (they work hard and 'deserve' more) for teachers, lab workers, my employees, firement, police, roofers, etc etc etc etc etc ad nauseum. so that's not really a workable argument unless you take a very narrow focus Exactly!
