  1. I understand that. I was just trying to figure out what exactly what was being said. Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan
  2. Or throw those things off and let them plummet before grabbing your toggles. Ha. Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan
  3. It amazes me how many people I've talked to with 2700, 6000, or 8000 jumps that have never had a malfunction resulting in emergency procedures. That is luck and tells me that these people aren't idiots and that I should listen to what they are saying. I'm glad I have these people instructing me at my DZ. I need to get them to pray over/bless my rig when I jump my own rig in the future. Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan
  4. Well, thats the thing we do "S" fold the bridle inside the PC, that's why I was like huh? I may or may not screw up on some terminology so bare with me, I just started learning them last week. Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan
  5. I've taken two pack classes (one yesterday and one last week). First pack class was taken at after 10 jumps. I do check my rigs before I jump, but as far as packing, right now I am a whole lot more trusting in the packers than I would be packing my own and I think it'll be that way until I've got about 50 jumps and have packed and packed and packed about 50 times, developed a solid routine and make sure I do a very good job at packing. When I took the first packing class the thing that really worried me about packing was the rolling up and folding. It kinda scares me, because I worry about lines getting moved around during that process. So, you CAN check to see if the PC is cocked after everything has been packed? I don't remember from last night, but I was thinking the window on the bridle was too far away from the pin to be seen after the PC has been stuffed in it's bag? (I don't even like touching anymore on my rig than I have to right now, so I really wouldn't want to pull the PC out of the bag and refold it). lol. That might be a little too cautious, but at this point I'm just trying to be safe by keeping my inexperienced hands off things. 6. I'm new to this sport like a lot of people here, but I think it's pretty obvious that the respect comes moreso from your attention to safety and maturity as a skydiver than anything else. I would respect a jumper that doesn't do something stupid and has 50 jumps more than a jumper than has 10,000 and endangers others or himself repeatedly. And people progress at different speeds than others. You can't judge someone on their jumps really except in a very basic way. 7. I'm still learning these terms but by "kill line" I am assuming you mean the PC is cocked. Either way, if someone is packing your chute for you (you rented for example), how are you supposed to know if your brakes were stowed, if the PC was cocked and the slider was opened back up? You can't see these things once the rig has been fully packed. Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan
  8. I wear an XL in the student helmets and a XXL in some of the full face helmets (Z1, Mamba, etc). Don't feel bad. :-P Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan
  9. Well technical I am a student but I'm off AFF status. If I do move to IN I will have my A-license by then. Either way right now I am solo so all I have to pay for is the lift ticket and gear rental. It looks like I will have two DZ options in the area. One really close by and the other about the same distance as what I travel to my home DZ right now. I just really hate that DZ's are closed up there part of the year. 10. See for your self www.skydivegreensburg.com Yea, I saw that. I want personal opinions though. Any idea why the prices are that high? Durn it looks like they are closed from January to March 24th. Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan
  11. Any idea how they treat fun jumpers? I know thats a sensative subject, but I just want a feel for what kind of DZ it is since I've never been to another DZ. Whether or not I have a good DZ to go to might just be a huge deciding factor in whether or not I take a high paying job. 12. I may be offered in a job in Rushville, Indiana sometime between now and October of 2007, so I did some looking to find out where the closest DZ is and it turns out according to dropzone.com's list that Greensburg is the closest DZ (about 30 minutes from Rushville). Have any of you jumped at this DZ? Does the DZ have a good staff and overall facility? The rates at this DZ are significantly higher than at my home DZ, but I couldn't find any prices for gear rental or for experienced jumpers ride to altitude. 13. That jumpsuit will make you look like a ninja that is worried about getting hit by cars at night. Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan
  14. If I'm going to end up as a pile of mess on the ground I'd like the ones scraping me up to at least say "hey, this guy had fashion sense". I'm just kidding. Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan
  15. I still say your a show off. Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan

  17. I'm assuming that is your website, photos and videos. Very nice work man. Some of the best, if not the best, I've seen. Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan
  18. I don't think I'm ready for that just yet. I might freeze solid in mid air. Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan
  19. LOL. Well thanks for the enthusiasm. That helps. Yours doesn't look bad at all. Lets just hope mine looks decent to everyone else too. BTW, how do you guys jump in Toronto anyhow as cold as it is up there? It's cold enough down here in North Carolina Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan
  20. Well, here is the suit attached to this message. Opinions please. Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan
  21. I ordered a Bevsuit several weeks ago. At first I was thinking red/white/blue to be patriotic the I decided on more of a red/orange (flame inspired?) color scheme. Either Bevsuit fudged on the colors or I did something really funky. The main color (torso/legs) is red on the front and back and the arm ends are a neon yellowish color. The grips are white with blue borders. I put the suit on today and I'm thinking "Oh no, I look like a gay superhero and all I'm missing is the underwear outside of my jumpsuit". Don't have pics at the moment, but do you think I'll look funny? lol Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan
  22. Well, it was a fun jump for sure. More so than any of the AFF jumps. Each jump just seemed to get funner each time. I pretty much just ran and flung myself out of the plane too doing one of those superman moves. The way I look at it, who cares how you exit as long as you don't get hit by a wing or hit another jumper, you have plenty of time to get stable. I think I shouldn't have looked at the ground right before I pulled haha. I was thinking "oh shittttt" and I look up and my canopy takes a little longer than I'm used to, to open and I'm like "open open open". lol Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan
  23. I think I did on both my Level 7 and solo. lol. I can't say 100% sure. Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan
  24. That definately made the jump nice, not having to concentrate on doing certain things. I practiced using my foot to make turns and it worked awesomely. I was in total control. And I love being able to just jump out of the airplane and not care whether I'm flipping or anything. :-D Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan
  25. Funny. Mine worked the other way. My AFF jumps were an experiment in terror, whereas my first solo was SO PEACEFUL. Weird.
