  1. Put it like this. I've jumped 19 times. I'm never going to stop doing it unless I just can absolutely not afford to jump at all. In that case, it's only temporary. Until I retire at, oh, 75? Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan
  2. [replyI have heard the conspiracy theorists claim that the towers fell faster than gravity would allow, and that this supported their claims of an intentional demolition. Apparently the demolition crew was able to enhance gravity, which would be great so that we could also have anti-gravity They attached rockets to each flower pointing towards the ground and set them off all at the same time. Hahaha. Oh snap, the jig is up. Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan
  3. Yea what I actually meant by that was since USPA has pull on DZ's they could say "Don't let this asshat jump at your DZ". Not that they have any way to do that, but it would be nice. =P Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan
  4. Yea, their cool people. I see them at the DZ every week. Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan
  5. I second that motion. Not checking your spot = stupid, irresponsible, dangerous and retarded. If he doesn't like it, thats too bad and I would speak to the DZO about it. If the DZO has a problem with it, don't go back. I may only have 19 jumps, but I know no one has the right to tell you not to check your spot. Even if the DZO is the one telling you. If you're on the plane, it's your life, and you paid for that jump. Check your spot. I wouldn't really come back again in that case though. I don't see taking 5-7 seconds a problem. I've had plenty of people TELL me to wait that long. Personally I think anyone pushing people out of the airplane needs to be banned from that DZ and possibly reported to the USPA or FAA so he can possibly be shitlisted from DZs and/or fined or charged with something for putting people in danger. If anyone is telling you not to check the spot he needs to be reported to the DZO. Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan
  6. I'm usually not the one to say something like this, and no disrespect to those who believe anything whatsoever. I just don't believe that we can use words in a book as any sort of proof or basis for believing whether there is a God anymore. A book can say anything. Not saying I'm some scientologist or whatever or anything, but I dont know. Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan
  7. I've found that religion and belief is a very tricky subject. Those that claim to believe in God or follow a religion, do not usually practice the beliefs of that religion. The real truth of it all is that you may find one in ten thousand that take their beliefs seriously, do not press them others, do and not commit crime and hate in shadows. They attend church, but go home and beat their wives or just treat others poorly. This is one reason I don't consider myself a Christian anymore after "being" one for 24 years. I don't consider myself Christian, Atheist, Agnostic, Buddhist or any named belief or non-belief. I will just believe what I want to believe and keep it to myself. If God exists, what I feel is between him and I only. I can't see a time that the world will ever wake up. That we will ever stop spreading hate. Stop pushing other beliefs on others, not socializing with other people because of the color of their skin or because of how much they weigh. I firmly believe in everyone being equal and being judged only by whether or not they can respect theirs and others lives and not judge them for such meaningless things. That is my belief, and I'm sticking with it instead of with any set of beliefs or laws that others have decided are "right" and claim to follow, but do not. 9. Happy Holidays jumpers. Have a safe Holiday. Enjoy your time off, if you get any. Unfortunately the rain is most likely going to have me grounded tomorrow and possibly next week. Argh! I found a noice Santa photo online. Check it out in the attachment. Ha Ha. Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan
  10. I've gotten line twists a few times. The first time I got one, I had about 6-7 twists in my line. Last week when I jumped I had one or two line twists which immediately corrected itself after the line was tense and it kind of "spun" me to the left real fast. That was interesting. Line twists are probably nothing to worry about. The ones I had were very easy to get out of. As long as thats all it is and you have the altitude to hang there and kick your legs around. And yea I would have to agree with you that experiencing that early on does help. In this sport it seems like when you finally experience something, the fear of that thing isn't so bad anymore. For example, I was a tad nervous about doing the flips and barrel rolls cause I didn't know how easy I would get back stable. When I did it, I had no problem and that really helps your confidence. I think it helped mine a little too much, lol. You're in St. Petersburg? I lived in Tampa Bay for a little while in college. St. Petersburg is a nice place. Salvador Dali was one weird artist, if you have ever been to see his paintings (they have that gallery down there). 11. You guys seriously need to stop believing everything you read and see on televison or in Internet videos. Whether or not you heard "secondary explosions" in a video presents no evidence whatsoever. I could cook up a video that would "prove" that anything existed that I pleased, at least by your way of reasoning and understanding, in under 5 minutes with VirtualDub, Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects or similiar software. The average child these days can use this software with ease. That isn't even the point though. Don't be so gullible. Believe nothing but what you see and hear with your own eyes. To believe anything else with 100% certainty shows stupidity. It is one thing to be open minded to the idea that a conspiracy could exist, but to believe that that conspiracy does in fact exist by what you have read on the Internet or seen in videos or "heard from eyewitnesses" is further proof of how easy it is to manipulate a person. 12. I struggle to find the words for how in disbelief I am that anyone would believe that. Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan
  13. Well, at least one of you took a course in "common sense"... or maybe you just used the one God gave you? Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan
  14. Any "expert" that would say some stupid crap like that I wouldn't have much respect for anyhow. Definately not believe anything they say. Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan
  15. I deal with Rigging Solutions somewhat weekly since they are based at my home DZ. They are some cool people and from what I've been able to tell they try to price things as fairly as possible. The service is great. If you have any questions, send them an email or call them. No doubt they will tell you what you need to know. I got my jumpsuit and helmet through them recently. 16. Wait wait. Slow down. Have you made any jumps yet? If you wanna know everything that's cool, but learn the important things first. Worry about parachutes later on. Right now you need to concentrate on what your instructors are going to be teaching you. For example, I would love to fly a wingsuit some day, but that's a long ways down the road. I'll learn about that when the time comes. Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan
  17. No offence man, but I want some of what you've been smoking so I can see things in such odd ways. Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan
  18. The source I found said that lower temperature was without draw on the cigarette I believe and the higher temperature with draw. Not saying you should believe everything you read though. Which a lot of people do and that's why these conspiracy theories hold up so well with some people. A lot of people will believe anything if people try to prove conspiracies with made up facts. People believe those facts to be real and therefore believe the crazy theories. Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan
  19. Everything that has ever been said to cast doubt on 9/11 made no logical sense whatsoever, had no factual basis, could not be backed up with scientific laws or physics, but were made up in just the right way to confuse those that do not know better, therefore casting doubt with them. If I told you that Astronauts all fart in a plastic container and save it to use as fuel in an emergency, you might actually believe that. Some people would, cause they don't know any better. Points like these "steel can not burn" prove this. If we can't "burn steel", how exactly do we melt and mold steel to create products? This is done at, what about 2500'F degrees? Here is a TRUE FACT for you. The tip of a lit cigarette reaches temperatures of about 750-1300'F. Now, if steel melts at 2500'F, it's pretty damn easy to assume that jet fuel and all those materials in the tower could have easily caused metal to warp, bend, break and melt, if a cigarette alone can reach temperatuers of 1300'F. It's much easier to understand things that are based on fact. Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan

  21. If he is here asking questions, he doesn't have the experience to do so, so I would recommend not getting him to base his buying decision on whether or not he can overclock. Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan
  22. As many systems as I have built I've never had issues with AMD systems, but I've had a couple of Intel systems that had issues. Things will go wrong. Point is though, an Intel system isn't going to be "more stable" or have less chance of dying than an AMD system really. There are performance differences between AMD and Intel, but keep in mind, no matter what the commercials or people tell you, the difference is not that significant. An Intel system might perform 5% better in this type of application, but a comparable AMD processor might have a 5% performance difference in a different type of application. 5% isn't much and you won't ever notice it. Case in point, go with a processor in your price range. Personally, I prefer motherboards with NForce chipsets. They are very stable and have great onboard sound on the boards that I've personally used. If you're wanting a stable quality system, stay away from cheap motherboards in the $30-60 price range such as PCChips. I'd recommend an ASUS board, which is what I always use and I love them. A power supply is important for stability and the possible destruction (or not) of your PC components. Don't buy a $5-15 power supply. Preferably go with a company such as Enermax. The PSU will cost you about $65-75, but it will last. It will provide adequate power to the components in your system every second of it's life and you won't wake up to a loud pop, discovering smoke coming out of your system and several fried components. The only things you really have to worry about when it comes to compatibility are: 1. AMD or Intel Processor? You must use an AMD or Intel motherboard. You can't use an AMD processor with an Intel motherboard. 2. PCI (doubt seriously you will use a PCI video card), AGP or PCI-E video card? Which does your motherboard have and what type is your video card? 3. IDE or SATA hard drive? Most likely IDE. If your system has SATA connectors, odds are it does have IDE too. This isn't a big deal. You will probably go with an IDE hard drive, unless you want to spend some extra cash for a "faster" hard drive. -If I forgot anything, I'm tired of typing so maybe I'll add more later and I'm at work- P.S. Don't buy a 10,000rpm hard drive thinking things will be a lot faster, please. That is unless you plan on using your computer to get a ride to altitude. 25. Heehee, we should start a "Post your wipeouts" thread eh? BTW, the girl that took the photo me falling, did get a shot about a second prior to that one. So you can kind of see what I meant about falling to my knees then going forward. I'll attach that picture. In the other picture you can see that I flared too high. So, like I said thats still my problem. I am looking at about a 45 degree angle, but still trying to get the hang of flaring lower.
