  1. I live across the street from the Shelby Airport in Shelby North Carolina and saw some guys in the sky from my house. Whose jumping? I want in on this action. Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan
  2. Let me ask a hypothetical question. Say I jump a 175 and I'm 148lbs and I land without flaring. This is not a HP canopy, so I may or may not have some speed depending on conditions. Would not flaring definitely put me in the hospital if I executed a good PLF? Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan
  3. I've got a friend in Seattle. That might be cool. I think I found a band though. We're trying to get together next week. The singer (a girl) is pretty darn good. She was in a metal band that was offered a record deal not too long ago. So, I'm hoping this works out! We're not playing metal though. It's most likely going to be more of an alternative style. I'm not into metal. Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan
  4. Are you saying you'll wait for the light to come on if you have to bailout?? Good luck. Not at all what I said. The meaning was, when the time comes, regardless of fear I get the hell out when there's pressure behind it for me to do so. I had no pressure to get out of the balloon. That's probably why I didn't. 5. Sounds kind of like what I said when I was a kid. "If you're ever in a plane that's going down, just jump right before it hits the ground!" Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan
  6. Haha! I would just be like "Er... and this is what happens when you don't spot before you exit...damnit...time for some beer... I'm buying". Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan

  8. What if you fall out of your harness? At that point I bet you would be thinking, fuck I wish I had brought a pistol with me. I lost a friend who came out of his harness... I can't imagine the horror he was going through. My 1st jump at Sebastian after he died... that thought totally consumed me... Well that little possibility is the MAIN fear I have of parachuting. Seriously. I am constantly checking my leg straps and chest strap. Once a long time ago on about my 15th jump my chest strap came up to my chin on opening and I was near shitting myself worrying about falling out of the harness. Oh and I was hanging on to the damn risers for dear life just in case I did happen to slip out, maybe I could hold on for 2000 ft just hanging there. 9. I'd be getting the hell out that's what. When the light comes out I get the fuck out of the plane. I know what my altitude is at all times. Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan

  11. Give me a balloon and I'll do it. Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan
  12. haha my life? Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan
  13. I jumped quite a few hop'n'pops from 1200 meters (4000 feet) and the normal 13.5k feet jumps and opened at ~2000 feet (just for the kicks) quite a few times. I don't see what's the big deal, it's not low.. It is when you have 2 H&Ps under your belt and the Cessna still scares the shit out of you. Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan
  14. I believe the balloon was at 4.5k (which exactly where I open) Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan
  15. Haha well I was trying to keep it a secret but people blabbered there mouths, so I figured I'd share my story. Korissa goes on my Facebook where every skydiver in 5 countries can see it and goes "WHATS THIS SHIT I HEAR ABOUT YOU CHICKENING OUT OF A BALLOON JUMP"... Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan
  16. HAHA Bill. Uh yea well it happened before I got on the balloon :P Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan
  17. I did the whole flailing like a cartoon character on my helicopter jump last year. I know that feeling. Then suddenly you've gained speed and you're flying flat and pull.
  18. Erm... no. You said you turned after opening with front risers... and you should be using rear risers for avoidance turns Wait a minute, I meant I use rears. I think...Yea pretty sure. Damn I'm confused. I'll look again next time. Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan
  19. It could be the rig. I had new leg straps put on my rig when I got it and it's never bothered me. On other rigs I've jumped, a few times it did hurt a little bit. I've undertightened and over tightened' leg straps and can't tell the difference. Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan
  20. I was telling myself the same thing. I kept just taking breaths and trying to relax, but it wasn't happening. Next time I'll just close my eyes and flip over the edge. Dunno what the deal is but the past year the fear has just been a lot harder to deal with for some reason. The first year I was jumping I barely had any. Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan
  21. I'm not stressing this at all, I mean whatever. I got to ride in a balloon, but I basically got up, the two other guys jumped and I just couldn't get myself to move. Dunno what the deal was, but my nerves were going ape. I've jumped the heli and 4 or 5 different planes, but that balloon was scaring the hell out of me. I guess having two hop and pops didn't help. Yea, I'm afraid of heights, but normally it's as easy as just stepping out. Something about having to climb over the edge was freaking me out. I think it's funny. Whatever. 22. Who the heck is David Lendley? Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan
  23. I'm looking for a band. Preferably in the Charlotte North Carolina area (I'm actually in Shelby). Will move for a decent, serious band. http://www.myspace.com/chrissolox Videos and clips on my myspace. 24. SDC certainly required it when I did my training. Could it be that, just like with college freshmen these days, it's easier to ask a question on the internet than look up the answer in the book? Well people don't realize that it's on the Internet and can be viewed for free. Personally, I'm not paying $25 or whatever for the book when I can get a PDF. Could just link people with those questions to the SIM. You kind of have to read the SIM to pass the tests anyway. They shouldn't only be reading the SIM when an instructor tells them to. Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan
  25. Did I say I turn with rear risers? I jumped today, looked up at where I had already grabbed the front risers and thought...why did I tell them rear? I've obviously not been jumping too much. 12-15 skydives in a year. Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan
