  1. Okay, I'm just trying to learn so I'm looking at the SIM. The page I'm looking at (one of the "Emergency Procedure Review" pages) says, "If below 1,000 feet without a functioning canopy, deploy the reserve (will result in a cutaway on an SOS system)." I don't recall having discussed JUST deploying my reserve with my instructors, but I'm not pointing fingers at any instructor anywhere because it's more likely to be my forgetfulness than their mistake. How can I tell, when looking at a rig, if I have an SOS? I will definitely ask this question at the dz so it's gear specific, but I'm curious. I assume you would do this to get a canopy over your head ASAP at that altitude, but I obviously don't want two out, either. My EPs have always been "arch look reach look pull reach pull." I wouldn't have necessarily thought about going directly to my reserve--but it's one more of those canopy issues I need to understand. TPM Sister #102
  2. Look at it this way . . . at least you look good in Georgia attire. Then again, Georgia attire will make ANYONE look good! TPM Sister #102

  4. Well, if that's the case, ask your attorney about it. They may just not have caught it before the invoice was generated. (Many lawyers have time entry systems that they keep up with on a daily basis and it could have been entered when the calls were made but not caught again before the charges were sent to you.) If that's not the case, your lawyer should be able to tell you why those are still on there. I certainly understand your frustration, but it might be taken care of with a simple phone call. 5. I would like to frolick in the ocean with all the pretty fish . . . but I'm at the office today instead. I would like to frolick at the tunnel. If I were to go by the tunnel at lunch, while I was out doing errands for work, that would be a frolick and detour. Hmmm. . . . not a bad idea! Thanks, Bolas! TPM Sister #102
  6. Sometimes you have to talk to experts in the field that's relevant to a particular case, whether it's to get general information on the subject matter at hand, or to determine the expert's actual knowledge of the subject, their availability, their fees, etc. Is it possible that this expert gave your lawyer useful information for the hearing, even if he's not going to appear? If the telephone calls resulted in your lawyer getting some information that you might benefit from, I would look at the charges differently than if those calls were strictly helpful in the event that the expert testified on your behalf. Ask your attorney for more information about the calls. They might be willing to reduce their invoice, or at least tell you why those charges are still appropriate. TPM Sister #102
  7. "GO" to the tunnel? Heck, with that much time, I'd just move in. That way I could be there when they had any last-minute cancellations and needed to fill the block! TPM Sister #102
  8. I voted for three in a row. It leaves you more flexibility if you want to travel! TPM Sister #102
  9. My nails are natural--no acrylics or anything like that. I like to polish them and it actually helps to strengthen and protect them. However, the wind tunnel is pretty hard on them and so I don't wear polish as consistently as I used to because it's a lot of maintenance. My toenails almost always have polish on them, though. I guess I'm a blend of polished and plain! TPM Sister #102
  10. You already know what *I* think--I'm proud of you! Good going. I'll miss you, but I'll let you know what you missed when you finish the degree. TPM Sister #102

  13. I would've participated, but skydemon2 just sent me a message and said he was outta here, so it's pointless now. . . . TPM Sister #102

  15. I'm so sorry. I hope the trip back brings peace. TPM Sister #102
  16. I haven't done anything as egregious as doing online SEARCHES and stuff. Sheesh! At least she admits it. That's the first step to recovery. On the other hand, a good banning might deter that kind of behavior in the future. I mean, really--what if the mods start expecting us ALL to do stuff like that? TPM Sister #102
  17. Hey, wait! I'm not the one misbehaving, anyway. That would be chaoskitty, who is going off and doing who-knows-what kinds of unsanctioned things. TPM Sister #102
  18. Quote Don't make me get my brush out. It does more than hair . . . it tans too. I can't decide if that's good or bad. TPM Sister #102
  19. WHAT?! And then THIS isn't even a cross-post or a re-post. Well, okay, not that I would know. That would require research and I might get banned, too, if I did any. TPM Sister #102
  20. Apparently, you're not having the same hairbrushing fantasies I am! TPM Sister #102
