  1. 0:0:0 Weather looked bad so I went to Madison for the weekend. Went something like this: Get drunk. Sleep. Football game in the cold and rain. Sit around for a while. Decide to get drunk. Realize that carry out liquor sales in Madison stop at 9:00 PM. Sleep.
  2. What I would do? Convert it to an MPEG with TMPGEnc. Then use the Nero VCD wizard to import the clip, do the menuing, and burn it. The freebie version of Nero that comes with OEM CD burners can only do regular VCD, but I'm sure you could *ahem* borrow a full version and do an SVCD. Total effort: A few minutes to fiddle with the options, and anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours waiting for the conversion to happen.
  3. Do you mean Video CD (VCD) or Super Video CD (SVCD)? There are a bunch of tutorials for doing this under Windows. The usual way to do it is to create MPEGs using TMPGEnc and then do chaptering and burning with a program like Nero. There are lots of tutorials here. Read the TMPGEnc tutorial first, then VCDEasy 101.
  4. The weather looks bad I'll drink beer in Madison So I do not care
  5. > 1. TK421, why aren't you at your post? Star Wars > 3. I feel the need...the need for speed! Top Gun > 4. It's good to be the king! Robin Hood: Men In Tights? > 5. Is it true what they say about the way you people are gifted? Zzzzzzzip! Oh it's Twue.... it's twue.... > it's twue! (as a side note: the "Badges, we don't need no stinking badges!" quote isn't from Time > Bandits...it's from this movie. heh.) Blazing Saddles > 9. Through dangers untold and hardships unnumbered, I have fought my way here to the castle > beyond the goblin city to take back the child that you have stolen. Willow?
  6. Go to the Airliners.net search page and put "skydiving" or "skydive" in the Keywords field.
  7. HAL said it to Dave Bowman.
  8. All from the same film (and all spoken by the narrator): "If you were thrilled by 'The Towering Inferno,' if you were terrified by 'Earthquake,' then you will be SCARED SHITLESS at the Samuel L. Bronkowitz production of 'That's Armageddon!'" "Never before has the beauty of the sexual act been so crassly exploited!" "It's been said that the test of a man's courage is how performs in the face of danger. Well, in the next half hour, you're gonna meet a very unique breed of cat. The kind of man who doesn't know the meaning of the word fear. Rex Kramer, part-time airline mechanic, full-time daredevil. A man willing to risk his life for the sake of adventure. He has to chase it, confront it, and whip it. Rex Kramer, Danger Seeker!"
  9. When I was in high school (only two and half years ago) any physical display of affection, even holding hands, was grounds for punishment. This was fairly liberal public school.
  10. Sure it's possible. Perl has built in methods for accessing some types of dbm files. If it doesn't work with yours, try the AnyDBM_File module. You will also need the DBI module and a DBD driver for whatever SQL database you are planning on using (on Windows you will probably want ODBC). It probably won't be easy (especially if you want to reorganize the tables at the same time). Learn Perl if you don't already know it, then learn databases in Perl, then roll it all together. If you have questions, try Perlmonks. Edit: Oops, left out DBI the first time around.
  11. Accutane related suicides and psychiatric disorders have been documented. Info (probably biased). More (probably less biased).
  12. CRW canopies open hard at terminal because they are designed to open fast. The Comp CRW Triathlon has a mesh slider and is free packed, while the Hybrid and RW models have solid (sail) sliders and are deployed from bags.
  13. HP scanner driver CD, systems analysis textbook and notes, snow brush, probably some change. That's about it. A few weeks ago I found the drivers license of somebody that I'd never met wedged between my visor and the garage door remote. That was quite the mystery.
  14. Alright, so why is #dropzone an invite-only channel now?
  15. I don't understand French, so I couldn't read any of the articles you linked to. Maybe somebody who does read the language can answer some questions for me: Is there any evidence that this was arson? Is there any evidence that the neighbors are responsible for starting the fires?

    Neptune

The Neptune is not designed to be used as a visual altimeter and an audible at the same time. You have to choose between one or the other (although you can switch it back and forth between jumps). There is no way that you will be able to hear it if you are wearing it on your wrist.
  18. 1024x768 at work, 1152x864 at home. The home monitor is somewhat larger, so DPI wise everything is about the same. Any higher res and I start to have problems with eye strain.
  19. To pack a main? All your really need is a pullup cord, which are practically free. You might also want a weight, which you can make dozens of different ways. This will cost you somewhere between nothing and next-to-nothing.
  20. The WOS thing looks so much worse on video. That guy is lucky he walked (swam?) away from it.
  21. I did it for you. You probably just got put in a database of people who actually click on links in spam. Sorry. Sanitized link: here.
  22. I'll try. It's on at some really inconvenient times this week. If it airs again in the evening I should be able to get it.
  23. I just saw a show about this on Tech TV. You got two short clips: One going off of the pier, the other dancing around during the end credits. Looked like fun. BTW, anybody know who did the demo jump onto the pier ("the only good landing you'll see today" according to the announcer)?
