Thanks all. I think I'll use some kind of rubber band to further secure it down though. Biggest worry, hard opening, camera falls off.

I'm mounting an XTi w/Canon 10-22mm lens on a Rawa helmet. I'll go with the Flatlock top mount...but what else can I do to strengthen the hold on it? Rubber band?
-
Cool routine. I think I'll try that routine on my next 2way. I'm pretty sure they use "special" freefly suits to do some of those moves, but I'm not sure.
-
Kind of a false statement. I could hold a HD position and relatively straight @80 jumps. Could I "fly" it? No. To hold the position isn't all that hard, it's actually flying it, that is.

Travis Pastrana skydives with no 'chute

Big deal. Let's see him base jump with no rig. Now that's where it's at!! -
Save boobies at Skydive Mesquite 19-21 October
Kynan1 replied to jtval's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Yeah, I'm sure you were looking forward to it. I can also take a jump on your account, to make you feel part of the experience. Oh, I will have a booth again: Mammory Relaxation Station This includes a full areola massage, breast feeding simulation, eye to nipple stress reduction technique, Face Molding Isolation. Best of all, it's FREE! I will be busy jumping most of the day, but if you get the opportunity, I highly suggest you stop by. I usually don't donate my time, as it's very valuable, but worthy for this important cause. Blue Skies -
Should minimum recommendations apply to you?

QuoteA skydiver that I will leave nameless once told me "recommendations are just that, recommendations". Quote I may have said that one -

New Plane Developed just for skydiving?
Kynan1 replied to Kynan1's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
A buddy of mine told me about a plane that has been developed just for skydiving and is fast than a KingAir to altitude. Apparently, this was built to climb very quick, with only skydiving in mind. Does anyone know about this, if so any links to the stats, etc? -
Thanks for the honest reply. I like to learn from videos I make. It was just a short clip of many clips. I agree, it didn't necessarily give you an uplifting feeling or change pace at all. I like it for what it is, but not my best so far. Thanks again.

Why wait a year? Granted, I waited 10 years after my first jump..hahah
-
Yeah, I like the narrators overly "epic" sounding voice..haha The base footage was the best though for sure. I like the part where they are looking out of the plane "planning" their dive..haha What a staged shot. The really could have used more skydiving footage I though. Probably only 4 minutes or less in the whole video.
-
Is it me, or did songs with the word "fly" or "fall" in them get completely cheesy after AFF....ahah It's just too cliched. We get it, Jump...and you're jumping out of a plane...crazy! haha
-
I would say, "Not at all, you're only going 120mph. So, it's almost undetectable." Then see his reply.

Reasons why it isn't mainstream and will probably never be: -You can't skydive until you're 18...so forget the Xgames contributing. -Cost...Name a few other sports that cost 7 grand to start...jump course and gear should run you that, let alone jump tickets. -Locations, dropzones are usually at least an hour away from most people. If you don't drive, you're probably not jumping regularly. -Most people view skydiving as a novelty and something to do once, but that usually it. Most people love it their first time, but never really consider being a skydiver. -It's not a viewer friendly sport..something you can only watch on tv (for obvious reasons). Skydiving in general can be pretty boring to watch, on a point basis. -Out of site, out of mind...because it gets zero coverage, how many people think of skydiving on regular basis, who are not skydivers? This said, I'm fine with it. I like that skydiving doesn't have a bigger following. It wouldn't make it any less great, but Perris can get crowded enough without bringing in more people.

Thanks for all the replies. Now for donations, just $420 and I'll get the flash. Oh, and $500 for the Sigma 10-20 lens. I should have stuck with video.
-
Good idea. Accuracy is pretty important.

Oh my God! I can't believe this is happening to me. 31 years and I'm finally getting laid!

I'm starting with front riser 90's in from about 200ft. My wingloading is a 1.2 and I have 400 jumps. What is the safest way to approach swooping and what are the most common mistakes made when starting out? Thanks in advance.
-
What seems to be the best flash to use for rapidly triggering throughout the dive? Something that reloads pretty quick and gives at least 6 flashes in quick succession? Thanks in advance.

Username: skyscott - Classifieds Buyer Scam
Kynan1 replied to sangiro's topic in Security and Scam Alerts
Your best bet for something like this is to play along with the assclown who is trying the scam. Give them your address, etc...have them send a check...which of course will be great than the original amount, then bring the check to your bank and explain it's a fake counterfeit check. This should help in tracking down these douchebags. Get a real job man...hahah People never cease to amaze me. -
Myspace bulletin, Dropzone post, Mesquite newsletter. Ok, we got it. haha Good stuff JT. You're one of the better video guys I've seen, since beginning jumping in 2006. Most guys have god awful material and jokes, you're pretty genuine. Nice footage and credit.

What's the deal with wearing ear plugs during free fall?
Kynan1 replied to autoset's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
haha, So much for the "helmets don't reduce the sound enough" theory. Maybe a Pro-Tech helmet with open ears, but something enclosed, works fine...not like this is news to most people.
