Fixed! Nice suit, Ralph!
-
Flatlined (continuous beep) if you go over the max limit and quiet if under the min limit would be great in my opinion.

Skydiving: opened by 1600ft after some trouble finding my pilot chute. This was my first jump on my current rig not wearing a wingsuit. BASE jumping: this one-> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rq2k78vEfUo

I only see a PF prodigy and a PF shadow there? Yep, PF clones! I've never seen anyone flying these suits in Brazil.

Have you tried changing the jump mode setting to "slow" on Protrack?
-
I think it does that already . Take a look at the "mode" settings in the config file: ; GPS settings Model: 6 ; Dynamic model ; 0 = Portable ; 2 = Stationary ; 3 = Pedestrian ; 4 = Automotive ; 5 = Sea ; 6 = Airborne with < 1 G acceleration ; 7 = Airborne with < 2 G acceleration ; 8 = Airborne with < 4 G acceleration Rate: 200 ; Measurement rate (ms) ; Tone settings Mode: 2 ; Measurement mode ; 0 = Horizontal speed ; 1 = Vertical speed ; 2 = Glide ratio ; 3 = Inverse glide ratio Max: 120 ; Maximum value ; cm/s in Mode 0 and 1 ; ratio * 100 in Mode 2 and 3 Threshold: 1000 ; Threshold for tone (mode 2 and 3) ; cm/s vertical in Mode 2 ; cm/s horizontal in Mode 3 Volume: 5 ; 0 (min) to 8 (max) Edited to fix quoting.

I just got a replacement for my broken Protrack for free (including shipping to Brazil). Another happy L & B customer here!

You can see the settings and configure MTK loggers using BT747 (freeware). http://www.bt747.org/ Hmm that's weird... you did have a good GPS satellite acquisition? I've been trying to get into the setup program (QTravel) to check the settings, but it's asking me for a product key I didn't know I needed. I've emailed Qstarz about it, waiting for a reply. It's been a while since I set it up, so I can't tell you what the current settings are. I'll let you know once I do. Cheers

I have this data from a jump at ZHills (exit @ ~8000ft). You should be able to convert the data from GPX to NMEA using GPSBABEL. Note that the data is logged at 2Hz but my GPS unit exports the same timestamp twice. 7.501 2010-03-21T12:12:05.000Z 0.2236 trkpt-2010-03-21T12:12:05.000Z TIME:21-MAR-10 12:12:05RCR:T (TimeStamp)VALID:SPSLATITUDE:28.219803 NLONGITUDE:82.150690 WHEIGHT:7.501 mSPEED:0.805 km/h]]> TimeStamp T 3d 12.298 2010-03-21T12:12:05.000Z 0.2706 trkpt-2010-03-21T12:12:05.000Z TIME:21-MAR-10 12:12:05RCR:T (TimeStamp)VALID:SPSLATITUDE:28.219821 NLONGITUDE:82.150688 WHEIGHT:12.298 mSPEED:0.974 km/h]]> TimeStamp T 3d GPS Model: Qstarz BT-Q1300s HTH

This is the only wind tunnel in Brazil, located in Goiania, GO. AFAIK it's mostly used for military training and it is open to the general public only on Saturdays.

I think the problem has something to do with 5Hz logging. I had the same issue with my Qstarz Q1300s logging at 2Hz. It works fine with 1Hz though... I'm downloading Track Album to check if it works with my 2Hz logged data. Almost forget! Take a look at http://www.trackingderby.com/... Paralog crashed to the desktop consistently when trying to read in GPX files. It's really an awfully buggy, unstable, expensive (for what you get) piece of software. Which is why I'm not particularly fond of it. I've been playing around with a similar program made for hang gliders called Track-Album. It works as advertised, and skydiving-related information can easily be incorporated into its logbook. It has some glide-related information but its difficult to find. Gonna keep on lookin'...

Maybe you were trying to open a database file. You have to click on the "Read GPS" button instead and choose the "GPX" as the GPS type. I'll take you word for it, but it wasn't very straightforward when I tried. The Open Files dialog only gives their formats as options.
-
You can import GPX files using Paralog just fine. Far as I can tell, Paralog doesn't support importing and visualizing GPX or KML files. Just their proprietary jump log files.

what's your record of jumps in one week?
drunk replied to cacb's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
46 jumps in 6 days. 10 jumps in one day is my best...
