I just wanted to unload something that’s bugging me.
skydiven4fun replied to labrys's topic in Safety and Training
I totaly agree, It's a matter of choice, I also freefly but use a small D ring reserve handle. I have my own reasons for why I choose this set up and It's my own business as to why, But that's what's great about this sport is that we can make our own choice as to what we jump, Where we jump and who we jump with. Ask the PD Factory Team?
skydiven4fun replied to freeflybella's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
I have done that before, But I never was able to get the canopy back over my head so the last part of my swoop really sucked. I got a standing ovation from everyone though. Still here after all these years Clayton -

To downsize or not to downsize?
skydiven4fun replied to freeflygoddess's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
You are jumping at a very respectable DZ, And there is a lot a talent there, I would suggest that you listen to what they say. Remember that you can enjoy this sport for years to come and there is no reason to rush things. I was told by an old friend of mine that the secret to this sport is longevity. So don't rush things, You have said that you have a knee injury all ready, I would take it a little slower and at least give your Knee more time to heal completely. SONY DCR TRV-19, 22 or 33 experience?
skydiven4fun replied to riggerrob's topic in Photography and Video
After looking at the picture I also am wondering if you have any problems with the risers. It seems to stick out kinda far, I have a Trv 19 that I top mounted, and the camera is so short and light that I can hardly tell its even there. Just curious but why would anyone want to side mount this camera with it being as short and light as it is. Still here after all these years Clayton -
Ok, I am just getting into this whole thing, I am new to shooting video and the editing process, I have Adobe Premier 6.0, But I have started out getting used to the process of time lines and audio tracks by using Windows movie maker, I am having pretty good results with movie maker and have made some pretty good finished pieces, I am using firewire and have a new Sony computor ( P 4 2.6 ) and a external 120 gig firewire drive, So I think I have the bases covered on equipment, But I am really just overwelmed with the premier software, It seems like it may just be more complicated than I really need, Does anyone have any suggestions on any other more user freindly software, Or can I continue to use movie maker and still be able to export to tape or dvd with decent results. I am having good results with this program, its pretty easy and I am not trying to make it to hollywood. But the premier gets me frustrated, Like I said I just want some decent video with music to show family and freinds. any suggetions ? Still here after all these years Clayton

Xaos. Is the choice canopy. I love mine. It is a very confident inspiring canopy, Both the swoops and openings are the best. And front riser pressure is very manageabe. Still here after all these years Clayton

When I was learning to sit I found that if I was unstable, keeping my arms out and bringing my Knees up to my chest kept my feet below me, Then after you get stable just punch your feet down and open your legs about shoulder length, It helped me get the swing of it, and once you get it the first time, it will seem easy after that. Thanks for the input, I work offshore and I am gone 2 weeks then I am off for 2 weeks so I will have plenty of time while at work to do a lot of reading, My brother inlaw just bought Adobe Premier, so I am going to load it up when I get in this Wed, and begin playing with it. I think I would rather learn a good program out the gate then have to relearn something all over, Thanks again. Still here after all these years Clayton

Ok, I just bit the bullit, I just puchased a new Trv 22 and a new sony lap top, I went all out on the lap top, and it has all the latest a greatest, my queston is what should I do to as far as soft ware, I will be using firewire to transfer to the computor and Thats about as far as I have got, I am still very new to the whole process, so I know I have a long way to go, But I figured that I would throw this one out here for input. The computor comes with editing software but should I go ahead and buy something else and start off learning it ? Still here after all these years Clayton

I think that thats going to be a tuff nut to crack, Even if there were rules set in place to prevent the purchase of high performance equipment by less than qualified jumpers, There will always be ways around it. and not every drop zone you go to is going to enforce the rules, Some drop zones just don't pay that much attention to what people are jumping.
