  1. Shah If your not financially independent I would go used . I am in the process of putting my first rig together I am a big guy 6 ft 220 no gear and it took me a little while but it can be done . I bought everything right here on the classifieds Racer container 275 dollars sent to jump shack had ugly main flap repaced with new one +tuck tabs , new cutaway handle, new risers , all velcro replaced , updated bridle protection and new BOC pouch total 390 bucks. Like new Pilot canopy 2008 less than 25 jumps 1350 dollars Reserve 1997 used for 2 years super Raven 3 reserve 1 jump 400 dollars so I got the whole system that fits my needs for around 2500

  9. Skydive city is closer to Tampa but I havent jumped there since 1995 I jump at Florida Skydiving center at Lake Wales talk to Tim Jones if you go there but either one will work
  10. I'm covered under a group policy from my work, I asked for a copy of the policy and It didnt say anything about skydiving can I assume I am covered if something happens?
  11. Thats easy I just sold my bike so I could sydive its a lot safer especially riding in Florida (retirement paradise, illegal immigrants, people on cell phones A guy I work with destroyed his leg when a teenage girl pulled out in front of him six months ago he was doing good had just got up and was starting to walk last week he Got staph infection in his legthe way it looks they might have to take it.
  12. Josh I just bought a 91 Racer container off of the forums I told him I didnt want the Old Cirrus reserve that he was selling with it and I got it for 250 dollars 550 cu in Main/ 500 reserve XL harness which was just what I was looking for I washed it ,had my rigger inspect it and they found a couple things that need attention. Needs new cutaway handle /cables and a reserve grommet that needs replacing the colors are ugly pink and violetbut I'm sending it off this week to Suzie at the Jump shack to get those items corrected plus some updates(you can get riser magnets for 100 bucks) I say if the harness will fit and the container hold the canopies you want Try to talk him down on price and put a new reserve and used main in it If you cant get someone at skydive city to pack your reserve Billy the rigger at lake wales will do it and wont charge you extra as long as your reserve isnt too big for the container
  13. Beleve it or not I did my first jump and AFF course (7 jumps )back in 1995 at skydive city With Doug Park, Gareth Holder And Lori Love(rest in peace Lori)didnt jump again due to finances (Kids)till 2001. Started the whole thing over when I moved to Maine but this time went static linedid about eleven jumps 3 S/L but didnt jump any more after the 911 attacks till last month . I finally made up my mind to finish up get my Licence get my gear and become a regular weekend funjumper. As far as coach Jumps I've had some that I would pay the jump for (in Maine) and they would go up with me ,but at Lake Wales I met a good guy that just got his coach rating and would jump with me just to jump. Good luck bud yes skydiving is expensive but I'm 39 and I'm realizing that you cant take it with you
  14. All I can say is what took em so long if there smart they wont reveal how they did it, But I'm sure the media will get a former operator to spill the beans they always do
  15. Thanks Nova and thanks to everyone that replied I might just borrow another one for the next few jumps and get this one checked out if its cost effective its only got about ten jumps on it.
  16. Thanks for the advice Andre I will definitly check it out . looks like it might be a good idea to get me an audible to back up my analog I think i'm still gonna make a habit of eyeballing the ground every so often if I can.
  17. Or it is broken or it just measured the burble of something (because you kept your other arm under it, you were on your back trying to backfly, ...) *** No Jurge I was stable belly down free fall position just watching the gound come up and checking altimeter mounted on left hand it looked like it was fluctuating about 500 feet on each side of 3000 2500 to 3500
  18. Thanks Nova I got just about all my equipment Its my altimeter. I will be buying a reserve next to put in my container then I plan on demoing a lot of mains
