  1. Alrighty then, just out of curiosity what view of reality do you subscribe to, Materialism, Realism, or Idealism? ...
  2. Yes, and the same is true about God. But I guess in your reality He is a no show.
  3. Nice to know you embrace the reality of God as well. Since I believe God created the electron and its charge and established the Israeli religious culture. ...
  4. We have been manipulating the macro elements of our reality on varying levels since the dawn of our species. Claiming to have reality figured out in view of what little we know about combining the macro and quantum mechanic models, is wrong. How do you account for "Idealism" in your construction of reality? ...
  5. Thanks for the links, I will definitely check them out. ...
  6. Sorry I don't buy it. Those of you who smugly claim to know what it takes for the universe to exist in reality don't have a clue. The visible universe is composed of a sea of subatomic particles and forces of unimaginable complexity and the two have not been even remotely reconciled. Which of course is the message in the OP, if you cared to watch it. ...
  7. Other than the ending, which I know offends your delicate sensibilities, please point out the mumbo jumbo. You have my complete attention. Otherwise you are just flapping in the wind. ...
  8. Odd question, borderline arrogant and elitist. I am more impressed by what someone says, not by how smart they say they are. I spent 8 years in college graduating in science and medicine. I have been learning and practicing for over 30 years. Physics is my passion, I love the stuff. ...
  9. Umm, not exactly. One feeds your body that grows old and dies, the other feeds your soul and gives you eternal life.
  10. Very simplistic view that appears to work fine if all you consider is the general theory of relativity & macro physics. It is totally inadequate when you throw in quantum mechanics. ...
  11. I am sure you have a high standard in what you consider fact and fiction. But in order to take a "fact" and make it part of your consciousness you must believe it is true. That requires faith. The "fact" may actually be false, but to you it is real. ...
  12. Ok, anybody who can decide God doesn't exist should have no trouble making a hobby out of not collecting stamps. But how does that work without using faith to convince yourself that you are actually doing it? ...
  13. I assume you have a "worldview". If so you have established it on the belief that some things are true and need to be included while other things are false and need to be rejected. I am sure we share many common values along with some divergent ones in the reality we have constructed for ourselves. "Morality" to me the word embodies what is good and right. Most religions I know of are not what I would consider moral. In your system of morality who decided what is good and needs to be included and what is evil and needs to be rejected. Do you consider abortion moral, how about capital punishment, cheating on taxes, hedonistic behavior ? ...
  14. Belief or non-belief in something issues up a set of criteria used to construct our individual realities. Believe or don't believe, you still use faith to construct your world view. In my construct I surrender to a Higher Power. In your reality, you decide what is good and evil. ...
  15. In the light of consciousness and its effects in shaping reality on the quantum level, a wise man may struggle with the concept of God and how one goes about finding Him. But only a fool says in his heart "there is no God" For those of us who have found God and experienced the qualities He adds to our personal experience, God is more real than the illusion we call reality. ...
  16. Yes, Physics on a General Relativity/ macro understanding. Quantum Physics , No. ...
  17. Materialism and Naive Realism are not compatible with Quantum Mechanics. Consciousness/observation determines reality. The existence of our individual consciousness on a Quantum level is in turn validated/created by the observation of a cosmic consciousness (God). Observations, individual and collective(God), forms reality out of the universal Quantum wave function. To say that the world functions on a "scientific" materialistic basis is just another faith based exercise. ...

  20. A lot of that OT stuff offends my sensibilities as well. But overall there is still an encouraging message there. ...
  21. I'm easy, pick one. But make sure it is a God of Love. Faith opens the door, and love will lead you to where you need to go. And remember the validity of your faith will be manifested by its fruits. Happy Hunting !!!! ...
  22. Which is certainly evidence that we need God to have a full and meaningful life. Otherwise we would be like the rest of nature. ...
  23. You proved your point, you can now strike down that lame straw-man argument. We all suffer & die, so what. It is what we do with the life we are given that matters. Only the angry will buy your gospel, otherwise you have nothing of value to offer. ...
  24. Hey lady, I am a Doctor, what would you like to know? ...
