    First, take your time. 50 jumps, in the scheme of things, is a very small number. It translates to less than 1 hour of time spent on task. Which is not enough time to really get proficient at anything, much less something as dynamic as skydiving. Second, get to a tunnel, any tunnel, and do as much time as you can there. Hire a coach, fly in the morning and jump in the afternoon (Yes, I know that's expensive, but it's worth EVERY penny of the cost). Third, jump as much as you can and get as much coaching as you can afford or stand to listen to. Good skydivers are made, not born. Good luck. Skydivers don't knock on Death's door.     I always wondered what, other than money, the motivation would be for putting videos out to a whuffo show like that. I mean it's common knowledge that the whuffo media never gets the story right and can't resist the temptation to dramatize or fabricate things in absence of facts.     Bank Teller. Definitely the worst. Even worse than fast food (Roy Rogers) I knew it was over when I came up $0.42 short one day and was accused of stealing from the bank.     Don't tell them anything. They don't get it. They never will. You can show them the videos, tell them the stats and talk until you are blue in the face and they will STILL take the word of a friend, who had a cousin, who had an uncle, who had a brother, who had an army buddy, who had a guy who knew someone that went jumping and some awful thing happened.     I heard of it back in the third grade. As a first generation American (from Germany), I thought it was odd that people were still bitching about the loss of an insurrection in the 19th century.     It used to be that 300 lbs was a big patient. Now 300 is light. The norm seems to be 450 and up. I had one 700 lb patient from 1982 to 1995. I have had 4 in excess of 900 in the last 3 years. What I seriously don't get is how someone both lets themselves get that big, and how you could enable someone else to get that big. I'm only 20 lbs over and it's driving me crazy. How could you feed someone you love enough to get so fat that hey can't leave the house for years, sometimes decades. The last 900 lb patient I had, we had to remove the front wall of the lving room, get a sling from the National Aquarium to load the guy on a flat bed truck (the ambulance was simply too small to get him into, amazing) and drive him very slowly to the hospital.     Possibly. I am a Wednesday warrior there. Send or post a pic and I can tell for sure. DMV will be cool, you won't have any trouble getting on a load and there are enough jumpers that do every discipline that you can do anything with anybody. See ya there.
