Umm...DrDive and Ladydyver weren't there (again), thus the phone calls. Blues, Dave I was actually referring to the whole Ritzville clan - - minus DrDive and Ladydyver, because they missed out on the fun too. the ethanol loading was an estimate and is determined by weight/previous ethanol exposure (well he is a skydiver so we know that he has some experience in this), hydration, as well as amount and type of ethanol ingested. i haven't been in that side of the plane all season due to injury - urgh...but will be back in about 5 weeks...sooner if I get my way....will check it out this weekend. yes, I actually have photos' of that said firewalking event. we tried to encourage him not to with that kind of ethanol loading to no avail....he just did what he wanted to anyway. I could smell singed leg hair for days after said event. The sad thing was doc and I were 2/3 of the medical crew at the event .... it could have turned out way worse than what it did. Needless to say, we had to have a drink to overcome that incident at the end of the night. true...we should keep the thread focused to this particular fire walking event. I am wondering was said S&TA trained appropriately prior to his attempt in firewalking? Did the training meet the national standards for fire walking? Was his coach at the fireside encouraging him? Yes, a learning experience.... like were his safety procedures practiced prior to said firewalking, and did he drink before walking???? g this is a second hand acount so i can't say for sure but i heard that safety procedures were not practiced before said firewalk and that bal was approx .18. again this is speculation and I don't want to slander said s&ta but it is so that we all may learn from this unfortunate event. shakes head.... Oh, and Im sure he was using a pillow instead of a D ring too, huh~!? tsk tsk tsk g I am shocked he didn't successfully complete the landing and that he ran into a rock. In the past he has been reliable with his landings....I am wondering if the fire wall was too high for him? did the said alcohol ingestion be due to multiple types of alcohol or was he drinking strictly one liquor?
