The surgeon will want a scan to see what they are dealing with re:sludge, gallstones, or a dysfunctional gallbladder......will also want blood work to make sure it isn't effecting your pancreas and to make sure your gallbladder problems aren't so bad that it is getting necrotic......just wanted you to be aware of what to expect when it comes to diagnostics and labs, as well as the possible complications that could exist depending on the underlying problem. problem is she is already on mobic which is an anti-inflammatory although lodine does work better for some people.....just depends on the body chemistry. sounds like a talk with the ortho guy is in order....you need something to reduce your pain so it isn't making you so miserable. Every time that people want me to change my behavior to their definition, their opinion is always the "mature, responsible adult". If I want to do something my way, they characterize my choice as "selfish". I could never understand why only my happiness was selfish. I've decided that it is the reverse. Anyone else who wants their way is now selfish. If you realize that her friends are exactly like her, you will realize that she isn't that unique. Find a new g/f. I know you do V....I also am aware of what you have been through.....most of the time I just shake my head as you well know from our conversations......this is really a bad deal all around......I am hoping some people are awakened due to this incident - if things don't change in our system it will just get worse...how to make it better, I definitely don't have the answers, but you are well aware of my frustrations with the system at this point. Unfortunately it does......a lot of what comes through the emergency room isn't really an emergency - alot of it is people can't get into their physician's office, they don't have primary care, they don't have access to the services that they need - your rooms get tied up - takes hours to get back lab work/radiological exams...people who need to be seen immediately can't get into a room or even in the hallway some days....however visualizing someone vomiting blood would buy them a room rather quickly if I was out there triaging them.....this should be a huge wake up call for people. I just quit working in the ER.....some of it due to the frustration of working in that environment. There are definitely people who need to be there and be evaluated and treated for whatever is going on......but there is definite abuse of the system as well - I will be interested in seeing how this all plays out. Furthermore, I've learned it's pointless to worry about that which is out of my control. Focus on what you can do. Plan for the worst. Hope for the best. Gallbladder problems are miserable for people....but it is something that definitely needs evaluation. I have seen people as young as 14 need to have them taken out because it just didn't function right (only had about 10% working).....that being said, some people have a lot of relief after the surgery....others it takes a while to get back to some sort of normal state. There is no cut and dry answer and you have had poor encounters in the medical field.....which adds to the anxiety of a possible surgery. The downside is if you ignore it and it is something bad it can make you very ill. Gallbladder problems do tend to run in families - at least that is how it appears in ER setting. In the mean time....stay away from fatty foods as this does exacerbate the problem. Anyone I have ever seen with a significant gallbladder problem has had to have it taken out....however, I usually see them when they are in trouble - that tends to be when they go to the ER. Pain that is uncontrollable, fever, and profuse vomiting should signal to you that you need immediate evaluation.. PM if you have any other questions. about 6 years 2 years for assoc degree in science 2 years for assoc degreein nursing 1/2 yr for additional pre reqs 1 1/2yrs for the BSN then since i thought I needed more abuse 2 years for the master's in nursing. Hopefully I am done now. Ok, it seems as if almost everyone thinks that will be the case.
