That's how our gas price will go up in near future. I can already hear the cry of oil company, "Due to instability of the gulf region, the oil production has been reduced, the barrel of crude oil went over 120 bucks a gallon, now for temporarily the gas price will go up to 5 bucks a gallon" and we'll never see that price come down ever again. Don't you feel little suspicious that our news were saying that the gas price has hit the lowest price in 3-4 years or something like that? Just like our jump tickets, it went up to 26 dollar range from 20 dollar range due to the oil price going up. Now that price has went down you still see 26 dollar jump ticket as if the price of oil stayed the same. Same goes for our price of dairy products and bunch of other shit. Time and time again, funny thing is that when the crude oil price goes up, price on our end follows almost immediately but when the crude oil price goes down, our end barely drops after few weeks. I know about tandem terminal. It is not that hard if you can fly all axis. I can for sure say that I'll never get into a side spin. Easier than belly flying. Hardest one to master is back tracking, and it is the only body flying method where you have to actually train the student to do specific body position. All of my flying were done using the same french rig of course. Since UPT wrote it in writing that beyond 5 second were not allowed. Only down side was that drogue only lasted about 500 jumps. Ofcourse being such a old school tandem instructor or UPT trained instructor, you'll never see that possibility. Just like once flying on one's head to build a 50 way seemed like impossible. I really thought that UPT officially approved Icarus mains to be used tho. I've never been to the dz where they use anything besides Vector reserve. I would hate to use Precision reserve. As you can tell from my other post, I'm not really a law savvy guy. Just an average American with an average law knowledge. I feel like the gun range should at least pay up some money to instructor's family or kid if the instructor had one. Maybe some criminal charge should be placed on the gun range owner as well, like probation. Not really a jail sentence but just to tell them that they were wrong. And the state should intervene and make a new rules about little kid and high powered assault rife. They made rules so that the kids wouldn't buy cigarettes and alcohol, so I don't see why not. I'm all about freedom of having firearms but giving it out to a 9 year old doesn't really make sense. They can go play with a watergun and shoot each other. That's way more fun than to a 9 year old than coming to a gun range where the mood is really serious. I feel like the gun range should be some what responsible for the death of the instructor. They have created hazardous work environment for the employees that works at the firing range. I don't agree with his rules either. 180 coming in from both direction at SDAZ? That's crazy. Crowded main landing area should be done with 90 degree or less coming in from same direction like Perris. The accident happened in tandem factory. Again, let's talk about issue of clearing air space before talking about anything else. That's why I've been preaching 270 to other tis that only does 180. Offers way better field of view, and it offers more time to bail or pick other direction. If the wind switches at the last second if you are setting up for 180 you are pretty much commited. But if you are doing 270 you can hook it either direction. It is funny how some of these people that does 180 gives me shit for doing 270 and calling me reckless. It is like pot calling kettle black. Because of that rule, I don't go drogueless beyond 5 sec. Because of that rule I don't do CRW. If it wasn't for that rule, I'll be going drogueless till 7 grand. If it wasn't for that rule, I'll be doing CRW at the end of my every single jump. Because there is a law about murder, I don't kill people. So you are anti-tandem hooks? All of these opinions really doesn't matter. Since we are not part of UPT. UPT needs to say what needs to be done and put it to action, and ti and dz needs to respect that and follow the manufacturer's RULE, not some manufacturer's recommendation. You have no business talking about tandem when you haven't done one. If you have less than 5000 tandem jumps chances are you are still kinda by the book guy. Where is Bill Booth in this thread? I want to hear it from THE MAN. and if some dz are allow to break the so called tandem commandments, than why aren't we allowed to go for some tandem headdown jumps? I still say keep one standard. If you must be able to hook it to land safely, aren't the Ti and the dropzone being negligent? If it is impossible to land straight in without proper hook turn, I'd say it is too gnarly condition for anyone to jump in. That being said, Hawaii might be only be able to do 2-3 jumps a day before the wind kicks up. Or otherwise if they keep saying that hook turns are absolute must, than I'd say both DZ and the TI is being negligent and opens it up for the lawyer to go sue happy.
