  1. Night jumps requirement is not that big of a issue. If you don't want to do them don't do them. You can easily log it in your log book, and get someone to sign it. Jumping at night is retarded and taking so much unnecessary risk. I'm not getting in the airplane with bunch of 50 jump wonder, yeeehaaas. To get A license, don't you have to declare a target and land within x-meters? Which DZ enforces that? They all go, Oh, if you land somewhere in the dropzone safely will give it to you. 2. 90% don't make it through 25 jumps. Bernie Sanders for President 2016
  3. wtf? Someone needs to re-learn how stuff works on your back. Bernie Sanders for President 2016
  4. Didn't she went in because she turned her cypress on back home at sea level? Bernie Sanders for President 2016
  5. What kind of scary ass dz do you jump at that had 3 legit AAD save with in two years? I've been in sport for little over 10 years and I've only seen one legit AAD save. I've seen multiple death which RSL could've saved person's life. Agian RSL is far more important than an AAD. I like one of my buddy's theory, you need one or the other. AAD or RSL. However just having an AAD did not save that Aussie chick's life when she chopped low during big way event at Perris. Don't spend rest of your life getting stable. Bernie Sanders for President 2016
  6. I felt like puking for the first 20 jumps or so, and dizzy once I get to the ground. I think it is from the stress. But isn't that what makes it fun? Scared feeling? He does realize how many men will hit on you at the dz right? That should be the sole motivation factor to make him go. Bernie Sanders for President 2016
  7. The "only progression" by ifly. It is that way or highway. http://tunnelflight.com/skills/ Skilled belly flyer will just have to be signed off on belly skill and you'll get to back flying within 2-3 min. Back flying is the hardest to learn. Once you get back flying down everything is down hill from there, besides one or two road block. Everyone is different. I've seen one getting back flying figured out enough to get signed off within 40-60 min. That's quick learner, kid was like 12 or 14. Sucks, but you have to learn back flying. Or otherwise you won't be able to fly for longtime(20-30 min continuous flying), transition will seem scary. Backflying is the resting body position in high speed. Bernie Sanders for President 2016
  8. Was this during AFFI rating course? Bernie Sanders for President 2016
  9. Apparently there are only 4 dz.commer without an AAD. Airtec/Vigil. You win. and One crazy mofo who doesn't use an AAD but scared of dying. You got kids or what? If you do, don't be so selfish, buy one, seeing grieving family at the dz, doing an ash dive sucks. Bernie Sanders for President 2016
  10. Like I said in earlier post, the thrill of the fact that I will die if I don't pull makes it fun for me. Just like those unprotected sex with a stranger. The fact that you might get the bugs are the fun part right? Bernie Sanders for President 2016
  11. I'm okay with dying. Why do you get so defensive? You feel guilty about it or what? How is being a passenger in front of someone, having little or no knowledge about actual skydiving makes you a skydiver? I've heard that plenty of times, oh my son is a skydiver, he did a tandem, oh my friend is a skydiver, he went and did a tandem last summer. When you do a tandem, you've skydived. Doesn't make you a skydiver. oh look here is a "base jumper" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DQ1dfdW9w30 Bernie Sanders for President 2016
  12. And those who say, "Oh, we do not like to pick up after your scattered remains." that's complete BS. I've seen no pulls. No skydiver is out there picking shit up beside the county coroner guys who gets paid to do so. It is their job. They've seen plenty of death, and in fact these guys gets super amused by skydiving death. There are three types of impact by the way. If you go in flat, your limbs go flying off, if you go in vertical, you turn into one fat mush, and if you carry some momentum and hit sideways(ie tracking) you might have somewhat of a recognizable body. 13. Do you have family to look after? Kids? Pets? Are you financially struggling? Secret death wish? What factor made you jump out of airplane knowing that if you do not pull you will die 100% Is skydiving more fun that way? Ultimate rush comes only by taking the ultimate risk? I for one, think that skydiving without an AAD is the "REAL" skydiving. Knowing that it can possibly kill me makes it fun, giving the ultimate high. Am I hell bent on killing myself? Absolutely not. Every time when I throw my PC that is an act of self perseverance. Every time when I track away that is an act of survival. Checking my gear thoroughly, keeping up with maintenance, wearing sit belt to the dz when I drive, those are an act of survival. You can wear condom all day long but that doesn't make "REAL" sex. You can't make babies that way. Bernie Sanders for President 2016
  14. I think RSL should be mandatory, except the CRW dudes/girls. Having no RSL has contributed to many preventable deaths. Not having an AAD mean you are okay with death, and you've accepted the term. However, when you open up your main and decided to cutaway, you are actively engaging in an act of survival, so many have gone in trying to get stable, so many preventable deaths. Those who can't afford an AAD, they still want to jump. Think about it, if they can't afford 1200 dollar device, their life ain't worth so much. Or some can afford it, but they just don't want to. Like I said in earlier post, conscious effort of accidental suicide. They don't want to kill themselves but they don't mind getting killed. Or they secretly wishes they get killed at one point. I jump without it. I really do not care if someone crashes into me and knock me out in middle of the sky. No pets, No Kids. YOLO. Bernie Sanders for President 2016
  15. Biggest factor is that these kids who are Tunnel Instructors gets paid almost at a minimum wage, and that is not enough to put up with other people's shit, and not enough pay to work any harder(taking spots). My rule was that, You don't even have to be pro at backflying, just show me some level of backflying skill so that I can crank up the tunnel and not have to worry about spotting your fat ass, or you hitting the turning vane on top. I have let one of my friend who was so stubborn about not doing any backflying, (since he has been flying on his head from the 90's, and I let him do so, since we jumped together all the time), straight into sit flying. The guy sucked. It was nightmare, every time when he corked, he managed not to float up by buttflying, but he burned rest of his time trying to get back to his feet. Yeah, he bought 10 min, flew for 3 min and spent rest of the time trying to get back to his feet. Then we turn down the wind, he gets up, we turn back up the wind, he corks at some point, and repeat the process. I used to get these belly jumper with 4000-5000 jumps they come to the tunnel with their new girl friend trying to impress them by doing flips and shit, and what happens? The girl friend isn't impressed at all, and then I go do my demo. Ya, she is way more impressed at my flying vs your 5000 skydiving skill. Like the poster ^.. Even Olav broke his arm, I think it was both of his arm. He had over 10000 jumps, inventor of the term "Freefly". Inventor of dolphin licenses. Bernie Sanders for President 2016
  16. Ha, I have a friend who only turns it on on even numbered days. He says he needs to save battery or some shit like that. Bernie Sanders for President 2016
  17. Lodi's policy is whatever Bill says. and you say, "Yes, Bill" 100% of the time. the guy kicks you out for touching the risers on the landing. what make you think that Bill will let you use BASE rig? straight in approach, no funny stuff on landing, you must pitch the drogue within 3 seconds. safest DZ in the world. Bernie Sanders for President 2016
  18. ifly is a big corporation. They have rules. Progression by step by step is a must. For instructor's safety and for your money. How are you gonna sit fly if you can't back fly? Show them that you can back fly and they will let you sit fly. Example: If you cork out and go to your back and if it takes you LONG time to get back to the net to stand up, aren't you wasting your money? By the time you get down to the net your 2 min is up. As a tunnel instructor, I've seen many people who claim they have 1000's of freefly jumps and I know that they can fly in the sky but they suck inside the tunnel. I say, show me your backflying skill. If you want to fly headdown show me that you can fly on your back and sit fly well enough so that I don't have to risk breaking my back to spot you. If you break yourself inside the tunnel, it is a bad publicity for ifly and it is my job on the line. If you can demonstrate control on your back, turn both direction, go up and down, foward and backward, you are welcome to try sit fly all day long. with your 1000s of skydive you'll pick up quick. hopefully you don't have bad habits. backflying is essentially sit flying. if you can't backfly you aren't ready, simple as that, and if you can't belly fly, you are not ready to backfly. If you aren't old enough and if your parents aren't there, you are not ready to fly. Bernie Sanders for President 2016
  19. Really surprised to see a DZO being okay with single parachute. Bernie Sanders for President 2016
  20. Original Point Break's skydiving scene and surf scene was bit of "Artzy" the new one just goes, "BAHHHHHH!!!! PPPPHHHEHH!!!!" not much finesse, just lots of action. I said what I said above with this guys tone https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n-5F_7DwPpo but that wave at Teahupoo looks freaking heavy for sure. Bells beach got way too small for Bohdi. 22. You should see these fools after week of speed flying. Bernie Sanders for President 2016
  23. Max number of work jumps a day:15 tandems, 1 video. Max number of LO jumps a day:18 Max number of jumps a day that I paid for: 5 when it was $22, 4 when it went up to $25. Fun vs dollar value ratio drops significantly after jump #3. What's hang over effect? You might be getting old. Bernie Sanders for President 2016
  24. Some people just aren't made for it. Friend of mine did 100+ jumps and eventually quit after not being able to clear his ear so well. He still works in the industry as a rigger. I wanted to do freediving real bad, my limitation was 35ft. My left side clears no problem, my right side however is different story. However somedays it clears like nothing. Those days I was able to go 30+ ft and hang out. Average days I could only go down to 15 ft ish. Lots of first timers have trouble clearing their ear. People develop technique for it. There are several different method to equalize your middle ear. Never go jump, when you have clogged sinus, sick, fluy. good luck. Bernie Sanders for President 2016
