Society can absorb big shocks. Some shocks are absorbed without a whole lot of fanfare, like the repeal of Prohibition. Some take generations or even centuries to overcome, like the repeal of slavery. That social changes might be perceived as difficult does not mean that making them is not the right thing to do. If our current government were suddenly replaced with a libertarian government, would there be massive problems? Oh, hell yes. Why? So I have seen a number of threads in the topical forums on this board and on other boards I visit where the OP asks a question, then some period of time later (sometimes within minutes) replies something like "I asked this question and no one has answered. Why not?" As a matter of courtesy, should I reply to each and every question I come across online with the answer "I do not know the answer to your question." Would that make these posters feel better? If we all did it, would they ever be able to find the actual answer among the meaningless replies? ---------------------------------- www.jumpelvis.com

I have always thought it was flattering, too. No gay dude has ever thought I was worth convincing that I was actually gay, so it has always just stopped as soon as they figured it out. In fact, I had a great time hanging out with a dude whom I think started out hitting on me but who totally threw the brakes on that once I mentioned by gf and we hung out at hotel bar (both there on business) for a couple of hours. I think that anyone who is genuinely afraid that talking to a gay dude is going to result in their becoming gay is probably not all that straight, anyway.
