  1. The guy who posted that is the guy doing the R and D for Edgardo. Anyone who has ever been to any large boogie in the United States (where there are vendors) will know that EG himself could never type english that well. What EG is, though, is an incredibly hard working man. Positively the only person I have ever seen who would take your measurements, sew all night, and deliver your new jumpsuit to you the next morning at a boogie. I knew EG was going to build wingsuits eventually as early as 2003 at Rantoul. I am anxious to see what these guys have to offer. The guy making the posts will be at the Flock and Dock. I am not sure if Edgardo himself will be there.
  2. He took the ribbon off of Vladi's foot on that jump. The only other canopy to wingsuit docks that I know of are Jeffro and Chris, and Luigi and Loic Jean Albert. Jeb Corlis might have gotten incidental contact with Luigi, but it was Loic that firmly stuck his backpad under Luigi's feet on those jumps. Likewise, Jay Moledzski and Shannon have played around with this stuff as well. Still, it was Jari and Vladi LONG before anyone else. Vladi was jumping a Velo 84 with weights to load him to 3.5. He also had a set of trim toggles on his front risers to adjust the angle of attack. Amazingly, he told me that he landed in that super-loaded and steeper-trimmed configuration one time because he could not "undo" the trim toggles and thought he was too low (or would be overloaded on his reserve.) to do anything else. He slid the landing out safely. That's some scary shit. Chuck
  3. When I have chopped from spinners, I have been spit straight backwards. However, I have seen plenty of video of people getting shot away, spinning like a ragdoll.
  4. Lazy throws simply don't work with a wingsuit.
  5. No shit about the sunscreen! Katie got a bit burned yesterday. On that note, she finally got back in the air after being injured since November. Caw Caw! It hurts her shoulder to belly fly, but the wingsuit flight didn't bother her at all. Chuck
  6. None of those names describe the unit that this particular altimeter came from.
  7. It does not suck here. We just got down from a six-way end of day flock....It's Wednesday.
  8. I have jumped in Honduras, Ecuador, Panama, but made the majority of my SA jumps in Guatemala. Over 100 jumps in the six months I was there. Down in Puerto San Jose and up in Poptun.
  9. That's some funny shit. There are more than a few of us who read this forum who know exactly what "SOTF" actually means. Hey John Hawke, were you signed for this altimeter? Chuck
  10. Every school I have worked at in the past decade has put the radio in a CYPRES pouch on the chest strap. Two-way radios, that way if a student lands off they can inform you that they are OK (or injured), in a tree, or whatever. And you aren't playing "marco polo" looking for them if they are in that tree. Chuk
  11. How the hell do I know? I have not flown two properly-fitted suits in each model on the same day. For that matter, I don't believe anyone has at this point. Until a guy that has a Vampire2 goes and finds a brand-new, properly fitted Blade and makes a few jumps on it to get comfortable, nobody is going to know the answer to that question are they? As the Blade is a brand-new suit, that's going to be the way the comparison goes. If there is more than one Blade at Flock and Dock, then I guess we might have a see. Chuck
  12. Luigi has been flying wingsuits for some time (at least since 2001), but not with any regularity. I lent him my S3 (and Sabre2!) wingsuit rig in 2003 when he wanted to try a bigger suit. He and J.C. flew together. On that note, J.C. Colclasure is a fantastic wingsuit pilot. He's tall and strong and just kills it. Without taking ten seconds to contemplate what the headline was, I can tell you that if Luigi is riding a bike off a cliff, then he must be jumping a small suit. One with a legwing small enough to permit him to straddle the backbone of the bike. Either that or, perhaps, he is going to ride a "girl" bike off which will less-hamper his wingsuit. Who knows. Chuck
  13. Just make sure you call ahead and tell the stinky freeflyers that you will be there and actually want to skydive with them. They are fantastic, and the organizing is free, but if you do not call ahead it's possible that you will only hear crickets near their team room. Chuck
  14. I have never had to ride the plane down with a tandem (over 1000 tandems), but I have had to ride the plane down with two AFF students.
  15. I routinely jump back and forth between a Velocity and a Sabre2 (with the occasional tandem thrown in as well). I slide my landings in on my Velo, so I really can't imagine a reason I would have to upsize due to an injury or any other reason. If I did not have the ability to safely pilot either of my canopies to a smooth landing, then yes, I would upsize. Chuck
  16. No you aren't. You are now, and have always been, an "anti-instructor." You postitively seethe it. Just like the Texas guys used to be and just like the clueless, 21-year-old BASE clowns with 30 jumps who you can't convince otherwise. Carry on, brother. I am WAY over taking over any shit for my views on the subject. Particularly from the juvenile delinquents out there (which you are not). Actually, I don't think any of what you said has anything to do with the subject line. Pardon me for allowing myself to get sucked into this mindless tangent. Cheers, C. Blue, esq.
  17. Please back away from the crack pipe, Glen. Not sure about where you jump, but the least experienced wingsuit instructor here has over 700 flights.
  18. the guy from Z-hills just got balled up in a big wreck. He drives the 00 Dominos Pizza car.
  19. Exactly what does that get you? Seven "old school" AFF levels? Just clearance to cat H? What everyone needs to understand is that they are a student right up to to the point that their A license proficiency card is complete. That's 25 jumps. Very few of those are solo, unsupervised jumps. Any dropzone you choose in FL is going to get you to the same level of proficiency at that A-license level no matter what system they employ to get you there. Personally, I think the original poster ought to go to the closest DZ to home. I don't think there are any "bad" choices in FL. Chuck
  20. You have already replied to your own post eight times. Do you know that?
  21. I, myself, have owned at least ten wingsuits: -3 classics -1 GTi -1 original skyflyer -2 S3's -1 S6 -1 Vampire -1 Blade (not here yet) My wife has owned two. Manufacturers numbers will in no way be accurate. I doubt there are 500 wingsuiters in the world who own at least one suit and have made more than five or ten jumps. I have trained hundreds of people in first flight training, but most of those boogie jumpers don't ever buy a suit and will only jump a suit the next time they go to a major boogie where wingsuit vendors are.
  22. Likewise. I think it was a PERFECT video to post. It ought to be mandatory viewing for safety day activities. It definitely ought to be mandatory viewing for people contemplating signing up for big-way jumps which involve flying around for extended periods (lining up planes in formation) above 13k waiting to exit. The o2 sytem on that plane was the same kind of stuff you see on all the "civilian" high altitude jumps at boogies (minus the HALO crew at WFFC). Better for sure than the little hose stuck in your mouth or into your factory diver on World Team stuff. Again, all of those systems are crap and the people with any sense already know that. Hell, I can't count the number of times I have seen people stumbling around in the back of CASAs at WFFC when the pilot gives extra altitude (16,000). Chuck
  23. You mean you want us to BUY a suit? If Cedric wants to have his product represented at the busiest wingsuit DZ in the USA I guess he would send us some for people to demo. We are an "all brands" school. What do you want for the suit, Glen?
  24. We keep all of the Tony Suit demos in the BirdHouse (Z-Flock Wingsuit School, more properly) on the DZ when Jeff or Tony do not have them away on road trips to demos. There are at least 25 different wingsuits hanging on the rack in our school (BirdMan, Phoenix Fly, Tony Suit). All other Phoenix Fly demos are over at Morpheus, less than three miles from the DZ.
