  1. Rule seven of the Skymonkey credo (look in your handbook) 7: if they are old enough to sit at the table, then they are old enough to eat! But hey, I am a married man and my wife (who still has a few more jumps than me) would kick my ass. I may try and get out to make a few, but it won't be in Thomaston. Chuck My webpage HERE
  2. Holy Shit! I just checked out the top 50 and saw that Mr. Clayton Fowler has over 2000 posts. The bottom guy on the list had 333. I am number 10 with around 850; Lisa is right behind me, or UNDER me, according to which way you look at it. I must say that I find it fascinating how much time some of us waste on the computer at work. I shit you not, I spend 3/4 of the day behind my desk looking at posts. Luckily I am on the ROAD program and still have plenty of time to get my "real" work done. Clay, on the other hand, cannot possibly get anything productive done with his hectic posting schedule. C. 3. Actually, we have had quite a few old regulars fall by the wayside in the past season. I am sure some are just lurking more (Stacy, Kelly (Froggy), Pyke), but others seem to have just vanished. Chuck My webpage HERE
  4. Just a note to say that I will be in Atlanta for turkey day. I am leaving today and probably not going back to NC until Saturday. Might pop up to Monroe to visit Joe Bennet and party; haven't decided. Definitely going to mountain bike on the Olympic course in Conyers on Friday. Chuck My webpage HERE
  5. All I have to say to that is "welcome back, brother". Also, there are still a lot of dropzones that make a big deal out of qualifying people for their SCR and SCS and yes, the awards system is still in place. Chuck Blue D-12501 My webpage HERE
  6. Uh, he WAS in Spain, Brandon. My webpage HERE
  7. I thought EVERYONE knew about the Darwin Awards. Chuck My webpage HERE
  8. Homer, check your private messages and see if that was the answer you were looking for. My webpage HERE
  9. Very sage advice. You need to just take it as it comes and not sweat it AT ALL any other time. Pine away after someone too much and you end up chasing away other prospective wrassling partners.
  10. Wings are sold by Greg Offhaus here in Fayetteville/Raeford at the green beret parachute club at VERY good deals. I get my Javs (and most everything else) from SkyKat. I can get equally good deals on Infinities from Jim Cazer and SkyKat. Chuck My webpage HERE
  11. I clean my cables every time I repack my reserve or swap out mains (which is frequently). I pull the whole cutaway handle out and wipe them from handle to tips with a WD-40 impregnated rag until it comes clean. Chuck My webpage HERE
  12. By comparison? Hard to compare it to anything other than other typical F-111 seven-cells. That is to say it has a decent glide, but a one-stage flare. Chuck My webpage HERE
  13. Mark, if nothing else, DRINK LIKE A VIKING! Chuck My webpage HERE
  14. Hey Ramon, Tell Marianne I said hello. Also, tell Bruno Pondsmasher that 3.1:1 is not optimal wingload on a VX. Carlos Azul My webpage HERE
  15. But I wonder is she holds her mouth right? My webpage HERE
  16. Actually, Heath is now with Monkey Claw at CROSS KEYS, but I doubt the team will winter there. Chuck My webpage HERE
  17. "you, my son, are not worthy of the ring". My webpage HERE
  18. This is not rocket science. File a NOTAM with the FAA, talk to whatever controler is nearby once airborne, and announce your intent to drop at two and one minute, then jumpers away. Chuck My webpage HERE
  19. You guys are KILLING me! To Emma: Choose Deland. You can party with Vladi Pesa and Jari!!!!!! Feel free to use my name in vain. Chuck My webpage HERE
  20. Errrr...That's not old, brother. Chuck My webpage HERE
  21. I agree with Lisa completely in saying the Infinity is a great choice. The Wings is also a great container that you can look at. Not sure about where you guys shop, but I can get either, brand new and custom colored for less than a grand. Chuck My webpage HERE
  22. The Bogy 7 (which you are referring to) is plenty safe and you should not have any reservations about using it. Most FTS (then APS) canopies were TSO'd as mains and reserves, so it is not uncommon to see some Rascal, Laser, and Bogy reserves with bridle attachment points. "back in the day" these parachutes were made in the basement of my dad's house in Opelika, Alabama. The company was then moved to Alpharetta, Georgia, just outside Atlanta. When Dave went to prison, the company was taken over by Bob Chafin and moved to Texas. Some of the designs then (pre-zero porosity days) were pretty interesting and test jumping them was at times quite scary. As an 18 year-old I was a willing test dummy. I can't count the times that they would hand me a rig to jump that had the brake lines crossed, toggles rigged so they came off in my hands, or best yet: hooked up completely backwards! Fabulous shit! The eight-cell mains had a brief run at stardom when the US 4-way team, The Air Bears, used them at the world meet. I had the 2nd ever eight-cell prototype, a 205, back in 1984. I also put all the test jumps on the Bogy 150 reserve, which didn't really ever sell much (everyone else was scared to death to even think about jumping anything that small). Chuck My webpage HERE
  23. Actually, with trips you are NOT deflecting the whole back half of the parachute with toggle input; only the tail, as the brake lines do not run through guide rings on the back risers. The theory PRO triples is that the majority of the airfoil remains intact and therefore more efficient, which leads to a longer surf. The CONS are that if you have a premature brake release it is a complete motherfucker to get your slider down past the toggles and all three sets of risers without augering yourself. If you are unsuccessful, then you get stuck landing with your slider up; this is not the hot ticket under a main loaded at 2.6:1. The other CON, though only if you are dead-on dialed-in, is that the very best swoopers in the world do not use triples now. They have found that with LOTS of practice, they get longer swoops by rear-risering. Having triples and rear risering is non-productive. As as staunch supporter of triple risers for the past decade, I am now probably going to change back to standard risers for the proven benefit in the competitive arena. Chuck Also, to the original poster: We collapse and pull down our slider because most of us are terribly put off by Slida Flappida, a disease only you can cure. My webpage HERE
  24. Bwahaha! I DID think that pic made you look a bit fruity. The new one is very stylish. Chuck My webpage HERE
  25. John and Janine's Slammer was a complete hoot. Unfortunately, it was too expensive to maintain as a non-profit site. They solicited opinions on whether or not people thought it would sell if they charged a small fee to continue; the response was not favorable. The last issue went online right about the time John Mathews biffed in. Unfortunate; it was a wonderful read. Chuck My webpage HERE
