  1. Lisa, that looks like a decent party. Where the hell is your HAT, woman!? My webpage HERE
  2. True, but only after you build up your forward velocity before sticking your butt in the air and rolling into the flat-track position. My webpage HERE
  3. While Tejas is centrally located, sort of, a smarter bet is to have people meet up at a MAJOR boogie. While I am extremely happy to hook up with my dropzone.com family at the drop of a hat, I would rather it be at a place I was going to anyway. Whether it be WFFC, Couch Freaks, Richmond, whatever. As for East Coast people, if you just want to travel to a central location, be at the CSS Easter Boogie in Louisburg, NC. I will be there in full effect, as will several other dz.com regulars. 4. Slappie, bad monkey, no banana. I promise you that there is plenty that is written there that should not be posted to ANY archive, ever. Lesson learned. My webpage HERE

  7. Last I heard of Portillo, it was being run by some German dude. It's right on the beach, up on the north shore, where all the windsurfers go. Right up near Puerto Plata, which is a killer vacation local. They also skydive down at San Isidro, but that's not really for civilians. Last I was in the D.R. was 1998, so I cannot say if they still run at Portillo. It was a cool little place; basically a tandem factory though. My webpage HERE
  8. Dave, you are whining like a bitch. Have some cocktails and work through the pain. Headland is a C-182 dropzone just outside of Dothan. Some friends of mine own and run it. My webpage HERE
  9. It's raining cats and dogs in NC and will be all weekend. Lucky for me I had Friday off and made six skydives. My webpage HERE
  10. I have absolutely no problem envisioning that. My webpage HERE

  13. Dave, are you driving over to Elberta or jumping at Headland? Those are the closest to you anyway. Chuck My webpage HERE
  14. I have stayed up all night posting. Not hard to do at all when you are stuck on 24-hour staff duty. These forums make it very easy for me to stay awake on the rare occasions that I get stuck with that job. Chuck My webpage HERE
  15. Mike, do you not know that black folks indigenous to that area used to regularly EAT white clay? I am totally serious. It is a southern thing that I never really understood, but as my grandmother used to explain it, some folks, many generations back, found out that it is good for your system. Chuck "made plenty of skydives in Tuskeegee, Alabama." My webpage HERE
  16. I swoop with my arms way out and behind me, laying WAY forward in the harness with my chest strap loosened all the way. I tap toggles just a touch to get around the corner, then let the tension off just so I stay in ground effect. Pumping your toggles is counterproductive; smooth is where it's at if you are looking for distance. My webpage HERE
  17. While not a "factory" modification, the simple answer is YES. The Howard Modification, now done by Joe Bennett at Skydive Monroe, will definitely make your canopy dive like a canopy one size smaller. It will snivel more, but that is a tradeoff I am willing to make to get a different kind of performance out of your main. Some people are scared by the slowness of the opening of the H-mod, but personally, I find it just right. You see, I am an old tired ass, and I really like slow openings. That being said, I open quite a bit higher than I did a decade ago. I hardly ever dump below three grand, so I have time to let that bastard open at it's own pace and I still have time to stow my slider, etc. Joe charges one hundred fifty bucks for the mod. The competition Cobalt is a different animal. It opens great, flies faster than a stock model, and swoops farther. It is not a snivelly main, so those who dislike that feature of the aftermarket H-mod ought to be happy. Dives are just as steep and fast, but the front riser turn is faster, so one must moderate it differently. That is the reason that I sucked so badly at the November PPPB meet at Perris. I had practiced for over a month on my Competion Cobalt 75, but destroyed it on round one of the comp. Luckily, they allowed me to swap in my H-mod. The problem was that I had not jumped that main in over a month and so my first few runs, which were competion rounds, were actually spent re-learning the main. Both swoop equally far, but each one requires a very specific turn to get the best performance. Anyone who has ever borrowed a buddy's HP main will know what I am talking about. It takes a bit of time to get used to the turn so that you can make an accurate evaluation of a parachute. Bottom line: If you have the cash, get yourself a Competion Cobalt if you want more swoop. If your funds are limited, send your shit to Joe for the H-mod. Either way, you will not be disappointed in my opinion. PM me for more info....... Chuck My webpage HERE
  18. The attached design was OK, but seemed to be put on kind of caddywompus. That means "crooked" for you damn yankees, etc. I like my original one (am I the only one with one??) just didn't like the "iron on" look to it. Lets get this show on the road. Chuck My webpage HERE
  19. Yep, Clay Fowler could have made that into at least 20 separate posts. You have spent your load in one, almighty blast. You have much to learn, grasshopper. My webpage HERE

  24. Just saw the magazine today; I am pissed. They put in the one of the worse pictures that was taken that day. Hell, you can't even see a rooster tail in that one! That being said, let me assure you that I was sliding on my belly at about 35 mph in that photo. What a fun day it was. I won't go into how nutty the party was that night.... Chuckie My webpage HERE
  25. Not a big deal at all. I have certainly made my postion clear on any number of occasions in the past, but I guess someone who only recently starting lurking would know that. Perhaps I should attach a disclaimer to the bottom of every post.......NOT. Chuck My webpage HERE
