cut away leg-wings (LQRS) on birdman wingsuit?
SkymonkeyONE replied to bjornufknu's topic in Wing Suit Flying
Get the LQRS. I have pulled mine several times over the past few years in an effort to expedite kicking out of line twists. Chuck Blue BM-I -
Loic designed the Crossbow as well. The Matter and Solomon suits are identical to each other as far as I have learned. Both are slightly upgraded Crossbows.

"What yo name is?" "We are not sucking in Rantoul" "I cannot believe it"

I talked to Gary, drunk, the second day I was there.

At Rantoul I: Found it impossible to get past fourty people in my camper to get to my own bed. Found it very likely to find SunCheHag passed out on the couch in the dropzone.com tent. Found out it is NOT a shortcut to cross the bean field when coming back from the RV park in the middle of the night. Remembered how good Scotty Carbone's chow was. I ate their every night but one. Had no problem finding a clean porta-potty with plenty of TP anywhere I went. Had the coolest golf cart......PERIOD Chuck

those are some of the better photos of the event

There is also a HOP 330 tandem. They are very well liked by the TM's at ASC.

I was really impressed with the tiny little 2k3 rig Howard Adams had at the convention. Very tidy, very small, very light. Chuck

Never saw the guy.

Yawn..... I have been offline for too long and don't care to dig, so give up the names. Chuck

I used to regularly jump an H-mod Cobalt 75 with my wingsuits, but then went PD and regularly jumped a Velocity 79 with zero problems. Still, the smartest move was to trade my smallest Velocity, a 75, for a Sabre2 97. I am about 175 out the door; you do the math. The bottom line here is that the main criteria for safe wingsuit jumps is straight, predictable openings. A Sabre2 or Spectre and pretty much any wingloading does the job. I am back at the DZ in the camper. It's spun around the other way now.

I, on the other hand, met Kev after one of my several all-nighters. Just sort of happened into him when I was drinking beer at sunrise.

Rantoul. I am only happy that I am back in Raeford and chilling out without fourty people in my camper. I am still far from getting the thing back in order, but at least it's plugged in and clean now. Memories: Driving up the first night (Wednesday the 30th) at around midnight and finding Skybych and crew. Sunshine walked out of her tent, butt naked, and came over for a coctail. Having 40 people in my 30 foot camper for festivities on the second or third night. Training so many dotcommers to fly a wingsuit. Incredibly excessive partying Being thrown twenty feet after a friend of mine flipped the golf cart we were driving backwards at max throttle in the middle of the night. My Rodriguez initiation. Having a tire blow out on my camper at 85mph on the way up there. Lots of other shit.

Amish kicks it nicely in a wingsuit, as does Droop. Chuck

Actually, most people call that the "E" line mod. It was designed for people who absolutely would not bail on a semi-blown rear riser approach and just drop to toggles as a "save your ass" maneuver. It, after a few inches, pulls the tail down as well as the C and D lines. It, by all accounts, does a lot to prevent high-speed stalls when you dig too deep with your rears. I don't use it. I know at least one other person here on the DZ, Andy Honnigbaum, who had it on then took it off. Chuck

Update on HH: He is sitting next to me typing on another computer here in the tent. He is wearing his skymonkey hat and has his sunglasses on top of his head. There is a box fan blowing on him. Update on SunCheHag: She is picking scabs off of her face with some tweezers over on the couch (where she is normally sleeping). Wait, now she is sqeezing a zit on her forehead while looking in a mirror. Chuck

Yo, Hansie!

We have had an absolute ass-load of dotcommers in BirdMan suits this trip. It was brilliant.

My white Pantz are very smacky-booty.

Bill Von has a good story about one of his "organized" dives the other day. It starts with "you know when you have that feeling?" And oh, Sunny is a hag. I am by far the coolest person here.

Just sitting here in the dropzone.com tent chilling out. No regular planes have been up at all today, only the helo and the biplane. Lots of people are walking around drinking. Today is Scotty and Tami's wedding anniversary so I guess it's going to get ugly (again) tonight. Due to the shit weather several airplanes are bagging and heading home. No more DC3, no more C-130, and today is the last day for the helo. Hey, one positive thing is that I have never been in this tent when there was not beer in a cooler or liquor on the table. Currently sitting here are HH, PLFking, Sunshine, LadySkyiver, and HappyThoughts. There are a ton of folks just milling around. Jari, Kim, Packaho, LouDiamond, MonkeyLip and a couple of others are over at camp BirdMan (aka: the Rancho Deluxe). More later......maybe Chuck
