  1. Reservists and guardsmen on active duty orders (drill orders are fine) may attend. Just having a pink ID card will not get you on the plane; you must be on orders. Chuck
  2. I was totally stoked to get back online and see the scores. Go Hansie! Go Eames!
  3. Is that the same Jasmin that won the wet t-shirt contest at Rantoul?
  4. Why the fascination? FWIW, I have never seen a true dwarf or "midget" skydiver, but I do know some very short ones. There used to be a four-foot-eight girl who used to jump at my dad's place. Still, what's the fascination? Chuck
  5. No, your parachute is not prettier than either of mine. Pass the banana pudding, please.
  6. You have got to be shitting me, Tom.
  7. BirdMan GTi and S3. Had an original Classic but sold it at WFFC. Chuck
  8. Shimell! Check it! Tell Hansie I said "what up!"
  9. Well, thank you all for the well wishes. My birthday is not sucking, but I wish Katie was here so that I could jump up and down on her in true fashion. It's only 9:48, but I am tired; lot's of work jumpies today. I figured I would come back to the campy and feed Billy Bob before heading back into the bar for round two of cockatillio activities. Lou has taken some fairly candid photos of my cake, my cockatillio, a knife and my bare ass, so I am sure he will post them all as soon as he gets home. Not a bad day here. My 3500th jump was an AFF cat E number 1 this morning with a guy who has been in the program for about three weeks. It was also great to have Tim Thacker accompanying me on that dive for one of his AFFI recurency dives on that jump. Tim is quite the pool shark, but I wore his fucking ass out last night on the table, along with eight other "pool sharks". It was a brilliant nine game run of the table and I was WASTED. My Karaoke skills are top notch as well; just ask anyone who was here last night. Thanks to those of you who drunk dialed me last night (except Kramer). Most memorable was the call from two of my favorite people who were navigating the streets of NYC; I am loving you both and am terribly happy for both of you. Brilliant..... OK, enough rambling.... On three.....One, THREE!
  10. You know you are trailer trash when you can get the proprietor of the bar which sits 200 feet away to bring you a coctail to your trailer because you are too hungover to move.
  11. Give 'em hell, Bill! For what it's worth, I also think there was a high degree of paranoia exhibited in this thread. Chuck
  12. There are some pretty big demo suits, Dave.
  13. Yes, a lot of us still have stows on the back of all of our jumpsuits, so no, they are not considered "dangerous". Actually, not long ago, another moderator here on the boards did a live test of them and found that they didn't cause any cutaway hesitation whatsoever. Chuck
  14. Yo, J.E., our boy A.C. Comp is on the way back out there to take the AFF Instructor Qualification Course. Hope the fucker passes..... Chuck
  15. Here is what I have to say about that, and listen good: regardless of what you think about the "come and tandem here" politics of the drozpone which sits between Rock Mart and Cedartown, GA, don't get pissed when one of it's skydivers or instructors tries to clarify some of the preconceptions when it comes to up-jumping and expertise of instruction. Mark Shimmel is a great guy who happens to work at ASC. So do pro swoopers Hans Paulson, TJ Landgren and Nathan Gilbert. You know what, I like the dropzone as well for a lot of reasons even though my Dad's dropzone is one of those that loses business to ASC. While I loathe some of the advertising practices, I really like the dropzone and all the people who work there. Don't get on Mark's ass because he has something positive to say about a place he happens to skydive and work at. Chuck
  16. You JMLIT's can sub-premecy all you like. I am the monkey and YOU are a bunch of flunkies. CHECK ITTTTTTTTTT! Don Carlito
  17. Note that all of the suits that Skydive DeLand have for sale are original classics. I checked them out last time I was down there. They are all in great shape.
  18. Me? I can't stand any of that drivel and with people would take it to the forums specifically designed for that crap which can be found all over usenet. This is a SKYDIVING site and I wish people would treat it as such. True, Talk Back is a "free for all", but that does not mean I have to like it. I would MUCH rather people keep their political ramblings to themselves on this site or simply vent their angst on those matters in a forum more suited for their debate. Once again: this is a SKYDIVING site and I don't really care what your views are on GWB, apartheid, white slavery, or taxidermy legislation. While some of you might say "just don't open the threads which are sure to offend your senses", I don't have that luxury. I, in my position, must read each and every post which shows up in any forum I moderate. This, just to keep the converstations and debate civil. As has been previously stated in this thread, but commonly forgotten on almost a daily basis by a large portion of the "regulars", this is a truly international forum. The owner of the site is a South African, not an American. I don't care what you think is right and wrong with the world, the second you, or some "mob quarum" gang up on someone on the other side of the world for what you percieve to be a fatal flaw in their system of beliefs, then that's when I am going to shut you down. NONE of your personal thoughts on world events is going to make you a better skydiver, therefore I think it's very likely a waste of your time if all you do on this site is post pics of boobies, ask if we think Brittany is hot, or bitch about GWB. The great majority of of people who post in Talk Back never post in the specified forums. That is an indicator to me. With all that this site has to offer, I can't believe that so many people choose to squander their time on this SKYDIVING site bitching about politics and the like. Very, very odd. Still, there are no current rules against starting most topics, so knock yourself out. Just don't get pissed when we determine that your view is too much out of line with what we deem appropriate for this international skydiving community. Regards, Chuck Blue
  19. I can't say for sure about on ZP, but I recently got to see a "very-long-term" test on an old canopy of mine. My buddy Rixter Neely was here over fourth of July weekend and he still has my original Excallibur in my old pre-Sunpath Javelin J1. I put three sticky patches on that canopy not five days after I recieved the canopy due to landing off, in a big briar patch. I got that canopy in 1990 or 1991, which ever year it was released, and the patches were still on and had done no apparent damage to the canopy. They had stiffened some, but the glue had not crystalized, nor did the canopy rip when I pulled on it. These were small 1x1 inch patches put over small pinholes and "snags" in the canopy. I wouldn't consider putting the sticky tape over any "real" holes or tears which clearly require proper patching. That said, my experiences with the sticky patches have been nothing but positive. Your milage may vary. Chuck

You are obviously talking about different "blue stuff"........or are you?
  21. slowly my ass...Ain't nothing slow at all about the BirdMan takeover
  22. Where is this person's home DZ? I can't think of anyplace that uses a rig with a ripcord up high on the harness (like a military MC4 or old MT1-XX) but if that's the case it's a simple matter of transitioning him to BOC. If the person was a SL progression student, then he ought to be onto self supervision anyway. If that person showed up on my dropzone I would send him up with an AFFI after training him on BOC and doing some cutaway drills in a hanging harness. No big deal. I get military guys straight out of HALO schools out at our DZ all the time who don't have licenses and need similar training. Sending that person up with an AFFI as his "coach" is your best move. You did not mention if this person was now living there or is just a tourist passing through. You also didn't mention when the person's last jump was. Chuck Blue D-12501 AFF-I (among other things)
  23. The little holes you are talking about generally come from not pulling your bridle out the grommet (assuming non-collapsible PC) during packing, but can also be caused by kill-lines if you don't cock your PC before you put it in the bag. If you are talking pinholes which don't seem to be getting bigger, then I would either not sweat it, or I might patch it with sticky tape. Others would argue that a proper patch is in order no matter how small the hole, but I have had the same thing happen to canopies and just "let it go" and never had the damage get any worse, even after as much as 1000 jumps post-damage. Still, showing the damage to a local rigger would be a good idea. That said, you might get two or three different opinions if you shop around. Chuck
  24. There are probably more than you would imagine. There are at least six skymonkeys there as well.
