  1. Dz.commer MikeForsythe has a dog that has more jumps than many of our post whores! You got THAT right, Andrea!!
  2. You're not really loaded until you get double vision! I shit you not, I used to fashion an eye patch so I could see straight sometimes back in the days when I drank a lot. Chuck
  3. I plan on swooping the ditch and then drinking beer and tequila with you.
  4. Dan, that might work in a puddle or a specially-built swoop pond, but I would love to see you try that at The Ranch. It's very, very deep. Totally off topic, but your statement had to be answered.
  5. I will second the remark given a couple of posts up: that CYPRES fire was caused due to the speed built up from a multi-rotational turn. The great, great majority of people who swoop, even in competition, throw 270 degree turns from below 1000 feet.
  6. In working with freefall students you need to be very, very agressive and proactive. You must anticipate that the student is going to hose you and therefore you need to be on them from exit. Ultimately, you gotta do whatever it takes to stay with them while at the same time keeping your eyes on them so that you can anticipate their next move and, of course, give them a proper debrief. The old "chicken dive" position gives you the same velocity as a blind, head-down dive while at the same time allowing you to keep the subject in sight. For new jumpers who don't know what a chicken dive is, I will just say that it resembles the atmonauti position. There was an article on it many years ago in Parachutist. Anyway, that's what I do when someone zoos a solo exit or I miss the count when doing tandem video. Chuck
  7. Don't forget there is even another meet this weekend at CrossKeys.
  8. I am not sure, Derek, but I think you can get that reading on a Neptune in "swoop" mode. If not, I am pretty sure you can set it up if you have the admin software (like I do). I will have to call Alti-2 and ask Roger if that's possible.
  9. I dont' use the rubber armor and I have never cracked a screen nor a case. My wife, on the other hand, has broken two cases. I wear mine on my hand; so does Katie. Chuck
  10. While max winds for students are 14mph in the USA, that does not mean that I am going to drop every student up to that limit. If it's bumpy at all, or if I just don't feel like a very-light or timid student is going to be able to handle it, they are staying on the ground. Chuck AFF/SL/TM-I, PRO, BMCI
  11. I hear hufu burgers were sold at Tuskeegee Airport right after my dad caught that thief at this party a few years ago.
  12. Skinny is a big, sweaty bastard isn't he?
  13. Sorry bro, but that's illegal. If you only use this one to make general statements concerning events then it's OK, but if you start using this one for mindless, general posting then the overlord will delete one. "Poof!" It's magic.
  14. That's got to be the cheesiest "pimp" job I have ever seen. I would immediately pull all those stupid sponsor stickers off of there. Rest assured that the cheesy stick-on hood scoop will probably peel off eventually too. Those cost around twenty bucks at most parts stores. The black wheels suck as well. I can't tell if they are new wheels or if they just painted your old ones. I can't for the life of me figure out what took them so long and where they supposedly invested five thousand dollars. You have ever right to be pissed with those idiots. I would tell them straight when they do the follow-up interview. Seriously. Chuck
  15. Tell me if that worked. I will be working for most of the entire month leading up to our one-year anniverary and won't get home till the the afternoon of the actual day of it.
  16. Mark Goode and I were on ODA 355 together in 1991-1992.
  17. You really don't need anything tighter than a .5 for tandem video. I jump a .3, but zoom it out to about .45 for the skydive portion of the video.
  18. Not what you do for a living, bro; what we do for a living. Oh, and thanks for highlighting my typo. What I meant was hauling MEAT. I do a lot more AFF than tandems these days though. Lighten up.
  19. I haven't done any naked tandems, but I have seen plenty of them done. Unless I am mistaken, Fast Eddie Grantlan has done over 500 naked tandems.
  20. A ha! My grandmother STILL has that LP at her house from when I was a kid!
  21. Isn't it cool that I can post to locked threads?
  22. Here is what I do: I put the toggle over all four fingers and I always keep it held into my palm with my pinkie. When I reach up for my dive loops I put three fingers in them and maintain my toggle in my palm with my pinkie. When I transition to rears I use those same three fingers (index, middle, ring) and my thumb, still holding the toggle in my palm with my pinkie. There is no way in the world I am going to drop a toggle.
