Out of the three I have seen first-hand now, I like the design of the one Jeff has been flying the best (the big black one). True, the wings make the pull a bitch, but he easilly cruises along on his front or his back with me stretched out in my S3. The big yellow one Scotty was flying (with the webbed hands) has tons of range as well, but I just can't stand the web glove option. Chuck

I must quantify my answer by saying that it's not the chest strap that I let guys hold on exit; it's the left main lift web. The video guy exits back-to-the-wind and pops up a bit. This keeps the entire formation stable to the relative wind on exit. If you are not cool with it; great. I am fine with it and so are most of the video guys/tandem instructors on the Golden Knights.

I removed the thread because everyone had gotten their word in and the person named in the thread was not keen on it being discussed any longer. Note that he never once posted to the thread even though he has made many, many posts in the (at least) three years he has been a member of this community. Problem resolved; he has a job at another tunnel. The end. Chuck

Cleaning a wingsuit (Phoenix-Fly Phantom)
SkymonkeyONE replied to aber_aos's topic in Wing Suit Flying
Actually, I think you misread me. I meant that I think a washing machine on gentle is at least as safe as the washtub method. I have washed my suit at least three times in the washing machine with no ill results. -
That is a very good analogy. Seriously. There is positively no reason that I would be unsafe flying my wingsuit off a terminal wall in Norway with my wingsuit skydiving rig and pulling at a suitable altitude (I have over 1000 wingsuit jumps and over 4500 skydives), but I am sure there are a bunch of twits out there that would try and give me at least this much grief if I did it anyway. Cleaning a wingsuit (Phoenix-Fly Phantom)
SkymonkeyONE replied to aber_aos's topic in Wing Suit Flying
I don't think a suit with mylar will take any more of a beating in a washtub with woolite than it will in a washing machine on gentle cycle. Kim Griffin was the first person ever to put up a post about washing our nasty-ass suits in that manner. And let me tell you, my suit is positively reeking right now! Chuck -
But your boy, Matt, was loathing away at home after a "stressful" night working on his skydiving helmet....Isn't that an oxymoron?

It's very balmy here in Z-hills, but Katie and I already did two jumps. One PMS initiation/3-point 8-way and one birdie. Katie hadn't jumped her suit in about a year, but killed it. Jeff, jumping his very-large/very-fast Tony Z-wing and I rounded out the jump. Jeff and I both swooped the piss out of Randy Lopez under his tandem main. Nice video. Chuck

For this amount, I can promise it will be 2000 ft AGL with turbines. I have packed for two of Jay's records and two of Cheryls. After each, I didn't think it possible to do more, but the record is now more than 100 more than the last record I packed for. Incredible. Chuck

It was a good wingsuit day at Z-hills. We had a wide variety of suits flying together today. Three different Tony Z-wings; three S3's, a Vampire, and two Acros. The last jump of the day with all of us was great. The larger Tony suits have incredible range; it was neat seeing them flying first-hand. Chuck

It was a great Sunday jump day at Z-hills! We busted a bunch of birdies; I did four. All the guys from Rantoul got back and made the last one I did. It was/is a killer Sunday on the DZ.

Results King of Swoop / EST Empuriabrava Spain
SkymonkeyONE replied to ParaShoot's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
Congratulations to everyone. A big thumbs-up to Tom Delibac Jr for his 16th place finish in his first "open" pro meet, right behind Pilch. Outstanding. -
That is some amazingly funny shit, guys! PS: I am at Z-hills; where the fuck are YOU guys?
-
Same here, Dave. I am way too lazy these days to change oil in a car. My bikes, yes, but not the trucks.
-
It's actually the same way at alot of dropzones. The "swoop lane" at Raeford sits right against the beer line. If you land out in the main landing area, you have to walk right through the swoop lane. Generally, though, most swoopers are either first to land (freeflyers) or last to land (AFF instructors). I can't recall a time when anyone was hit in the lane. Chuck

Did you know that we have Shiner Bock in the bar here at Z-hills? Fabulous! -
You could not put a dent in that corn with your baby lawn mower "tractor".

I am absolutely NOT drinking Crown Royal with my neighbors (Aaron/Snivelo, and Flora) at the bar at Z-hills. There can be only ONE! On three...........One.....THREEE! Seee you tomorrow, motherfuckers!

We just got back from the "pet beach" just outside Clearwater. It's a long trip, but man we had a good time! There were tons of people there on the beach with their dogs. Our dog Billy Bob got his first taste of ocean swimming. He wasn't terribly thrilled about it after the first time, but he still had a good time. Scotty's dogs, Hercules and Tommy, were running around making friends with all the other dogs. Billy Bob pretty much just layed down and chilled out. The Carbone's owe beer because we beat them back from the beach using an alternate route. Chuck

There will be plenty of very experienced canopy pilots at Joey's event.

I bet you have an awful lot of pics of Purple Mike, though, don't you?

We are going to the beach with Scotty and Tammi in a minute, but will be back later this afternoon for coctails. Chuck
