  1. Interesting... I don't find the mfg of my harness & container listed in the database (an Altico Dolphin 2000), does this mean that the thing is NOT TSO'd??? How is it that it's not listed if it IS TSO'd??? hmmmm... ps - I LIKE my Dolphin, and I'm SURE it's a step above "Swine Flew" "If all you ever do is all you ever did, then all you'll ever get is all you ever got."
  2. I do... Frontpage made me want to puke! Yuk!!! Dreamweaver is the only WYSIWYG editor that I've tried that I like... I've used Allaire's Homesite mostly, and I liked the integration between the two packages... lately, I've been using Namo Web Editor under Windoze (cheap and it doesn't suck), and have been playing with Bluefish under Linux (kinda like a Homesite clone, so I like it so far). 3. Don't mourn your loss, there is nothing good about Coors Light! "If all you ever do is all you ever did, then all you'll ever get is all you ever got."
  4. well... it's possible to just 'move' the OS and all the apps from one drive to another, but it will break lots of stuff. When the OS and (most) apps install these days, they write settings they need to the Windows registry... settings that may/will still be referring to the OLD drive letter, until you manually change them using regedit, or re-install... 5. Hey... my family doctor told me that beer is GOOD for you! Published studies have shown that a beer a day is actually healthy, providing several health benefits (that escape me at the moment...) He ALSO told me that it's not as effective when I save them up all week, and drink them 6 at time! My kids are older (12,15,17), so I've been thru what Pammi's going thru, trying to explain to them why it's OK for me to drink, as long as I do it responsibly... it's tough. Linux Beer

Ha! Congrats! Taking a welcome break from the evil empire of Microshaft, are we? What distro of Linux would you be running now? I have Mandrake 9.0 running as my primary OS these days, but I can still dual boot into the MS virus... er I mean OS ... if I need to (I still have a couple of work apps that I have to run, that only run on a MS OS). Overall, I like Linux, and it just keeps getting better and better... "If all you ever do is all you ever did, then all you'll ever get is all you ever got."
  7. Anybody know anything about the Raven Dash-MZ reserves? It's a ZP version of the Dash-M, but a quick serach of the forum bought up nothing, so I wondered if anybody's had any experience (good or bad) with these reserves... the fact that Precision is the only mfg that uses ZP in a reserve make me wonder... if it's such a good idea, why don't all the mfg's do it? Then again, when square reserves first came out, LOTS of people continued to jump round reserves for many years afterwards... Medical careers

My ex-wife is a nurse (I put her thru school while we were married, wasn't that SWEET of me) and she really likes it... I CAN tell you that she's got pretty flexible hours, and makes in excess of 30 dollars an hour at times... She works in ICU though... it's not for everybody! Most of her patients are exactly like she prefers 'em... unconscious!!! But there's a wide range of 'stress levels' available in nursing, that's one of the other good things about it. You could even stay in school and be a PA (physicians assisitant, that was my ex's plan, thank God I didn't pay for THAT too!) Good Luck! Oh yeah, here in Texas, you can license as an RN with just a 2 year associates degree! Full RN. "If all you ever do is all you ever did, then all you'll ever get is all you ever got."
  9. What if you bought a winning ticket that ... ugh... wasn't? www.txlottery.org/news/view_press_release.cfm?id=341 "If all you ever do is all you ever did, then all you'll ever get is all you ever got."

It counts as a sign of the times... and why very few on the forum know what the SCR even is! "If all you ever do is all you ever did, then all you'll ever get is all you ever got."

Kids these days... sheesh!!! The SCR is awarded for being in a completed 8 way (or larger), and the SCS is awarded for having docked 8th (or later)... back in the day of round parachutes and belly mounted reserves, this was actually a notable accomplishment, and worthy of a special 'awards' ceremony, conducted on the pea gravel after the completion of jumping... I jumped from 1978-1983, then took a little (well, ok, 17 year) break, and was surprised when I started jumping again 2 years ago (where is that divorce thread?) to see that the traditional ceremony had survived (at least here in TexASS)!!! You really haven't lived until you've been thru the SCR ceremony... remember to save your trophies for the mantle! "If all you ever do is all you ever did, then all you'll ever get is all you ever got."
  12. It's not just a local thing... I saw the same video in a CEC's here in the great state of TexASS... very cool! "If all you ever do is all you ever did, then all you'll ever get is all you ever got."
  13. I'm looking at some used gear, and the current owner says this rig was sized for him at 5'10" and 230 lbs (it's a Reflex container, if that matters)... I'm almost 6'3", and about 230 lbs, and wondered what the chances are that the harness would be a decent fit for me... what's the 'normal' range accommodated by a harness with the MLW fixed (back in the day, they were adjustable!)? "If all you ever do is all you ever did, then all you'll ever get is all you ever got."
  14. hmmmm... download Ad-aware and run it www.lavasoftusa.com then download Mozilla and run it ... it has a built in privacy setting that blocks web page generated popups... www.mozilla.org
  15. I second Paint Shop Pro By Jasc... a great program... 80% of the power of Photoshop for about 25% of the price... it will easily handle the task you're looking at.
  16. can't resist a beer thread... High Street Cafe in Eugene Oregon brews the best... Terminator Stout! Bottled beers, I drink Sam Adams Boston Lager (or if you find the Double Bock, ymmm, but it'll drop your d*ck in the dirt!), Fat Tire, Pete's Wicked Ale or Red Rush... you get the idea... BTW, IMHO, Bud Light and Coors Light are just beer wanna be's... not beer!
  17. This does bring up a good point, I bought both my main and reserve, and some other misc. gear off this site and had NO problems whatever... but I had the sellers ship ALL the stuff COD... they can specify that the carrier only except money orders or cashiers checks... that way NOBODY is at risk... I have the goods at the same time I hand over the money, and the sellers have the money at the same time the carrier hands over the goods....
  18. Many years ago my original jumpmaster made a mr. bill jump, and actually wrapped his arm inside "sluggo's" harness so he could hold on... woulda' worked too, if it hadn't snapped his arm like a toothpick... nothing like regaining consciousness in freefall... be careful!
  19. does anybody know how to set a cool and groovy fridge company "timeout" audible altimeter??? I'm gonna e-mail the guy I bought it from, but wondered if anybody here know how, in case I don't hear from him...
  20. true! that was a really small door! We did a 3 way at the end of the boogie one year, a "last jump" effort, and walked up by the pilot and ran all the way down the aisle and out the door, yelling all the way!
  21. most of ya'll are too young to remember these, but one of the best jump ships I've ever been on was the DC3 known as "Mister Douglas"... it had a killer stereo, and at the nationals boogie one summer, we listened to "Free Bird" on the way to altitude... then had a near flawless 24 way... what a f*cking rockin' good time that was!!!

    Canopies

I have a Sabre 210, and the previous owner put a pocketed slider on it... I only have 6 jumps on it, and we're still experimenting with pack options, but so far we found out we can make it open way too slow for my taste... currently not rolling the nose at all, and the tail just enough to control the pack job...
  23. back from skiing with the kids... I'll be there!
  24. Skreamer you rock! I am so jealous though! Hey Pammi and Alias, don't fear flipping! it rocks! and it's just air, it won't hurt you if you mess up... my first few frontflips coming back were short, and I'd end up flying on my back... no big deal, half barrel roll back to belly to earth and try again... I have them down again now, and can roll really slow and still stay on heading!
  25. I'm jumping a Sabre at 1.3, and even though it's considerably smaller, and loaded higher that anything I've jumper prior, I've found it very managable so far... I started back (500 jumps 17 years ago, 9 since returning - 4 on the Sabre) on a Falcon 300, and the Sabre is a lot more fun, and the landings have actually been better than the Falcon...
